This book is Brilliant!

Lockhart is nothing like any other Murphy male lead.
To say he’s an alpha is putting it mildly.
He is used to getting what he wants and stops at nothing to keep that track record going.
He pissed me off and made me want to combust all at the same time!
He’s got a lot of tricks in his bag and seems to always be two steps ahead of the game.

Cerise is independent, sassy, mysterious and doesn’t take well to being bossed around. She can hang with the girls and hold her own with the guys. She’s wrote in such a way that I want to let loose and share a bottle of vodka with her.

Murphy has upped the game with the new characters.
Not only do I want to see what paths the leads take but the side characters are strong enough to have spin off books and I’d snatch them up!

Now I’m going to go count the days till Lockdown comes out!

A. E. Murphy is the queen of sarcasm and satire, she likes long walks in the park, as much as ice cubes like to chill in a roasting oven. She’s effortlessly independent and so good at adulting it’s unfair on the rest of the world.

She only napped twice today and has only avoided the dishes for three days before making the child slaves do them this morning. Winning!

Her favourite hobby is writing, her worst hobby is reading through that writing. Also, she has two cats that carry toys to the top of the stairs and drop them down so they can chase them. They do this repeatedly in the middle of the night.

Who cares if she has work the next morning? Not the cats, that’s for sure. And if it’s not the cats doing the waking, it’s the toddler crawling into bed with her and pulling individual hairs from her scalp with pudgy little fingers for comfort. This is likely why she’s in a constant state of grump unless there’s chocolate and coffee.

P.S. Please leave feedback, if not on the book then on this ridiculous bio she wrote herself. It’s the least you can do seeing as she’ll forever talk in the third person now.

    Really enjoyed the start of this series and am going to order the next book as soon as I have finished writing this review!
    I am a huge fan of A. E. Murphy but to start with I didn’t know how much I would enjoy the book as I wasnt sure if I would be able to relate to an up and coming music star, but I needn’t of worried. As always Murphy’s characters were relatable and I enjoyed the interactions between them. I’m looking forward to seeing how Cerise and Lockharts ‘relationship’ will continue in the next book!

    But enough with the niceties ...hum hum. i do need to learn about the characters and to know more about their music like how did they got there...it feels weird as if we are being kept in the dark and their story is just alluded to. Well maybe it serves a purpose but still...
    Annnd I was so not confortable with one of Lockart sexperience this particular one went too far for me if you see what I mean
    But i enjoyed this book very much thank you.
    I also wish book 1 was longer, when I just keep checking how many pages are left that's how I know it's a definite hit for me so Bravo !!!. Too bad the next installment is not already available. I should have waited a tiny bit longer before reading book 1.I knew it..
    I'm a huge French fan of yours by the way so sorry if my writing sounds more like Frenglish, at least I can say that I've tried..... ;)

    So I've been slowly by surely reading my way through everything that AE Murphy has written after falling in love with one of her newer releases... I can say I wasn't too sure about this one when I started it... I really wanted to hate Lockhart at times while reading but overall I think I kinda liked him LOL not saying that I didn't wanna kick him in the nuts at times haha
    Lockhart is dark depraved and never fails to get what he wants in life so when he sets his sights on fiesty kick butt Cerise when she is signed with her new band he really doesn't give her an option to say no to him.
    I read this in pretty much one sitting as its so easy to read!
    Onto book 2 as soon as I can as this one leaves you hanging waiting to see whats next for this pair.

    I do really like the author and I loved the complexity and the storyline of her Nathan/Caleb series but I found this one a bit uncomfortable. It comes across a bit sexual harassmenty and doesn't really stop through the series until supposedly him loving her is enough for her to forget the pretty rapey, controlling and creepy things he does. That age old issue where if he wasn't rich and hot, the firey main character probably would have done some damage to him. I preserved because I like the main character and the author but think I would have stopped a few chapters in otherwise to be honest. Feels like a fifty shades attempt and I found a lot of it uncomfortable. Worst of all for a romance, I genuinely didn't like Lockheart. Seems like a git
