Saving My Sanity: Sulfur Springs Book 3 Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 691 ratings

Walker Roberts is a lost man. One fateful night, his entire life was turned upside down. First, he was turned down by the young man he’d been gathering up the nerve to ask out for two years, and then he lost both his parents. Not only that, he discovers his life is not what he thought it was. At thirty-four, how could he not know the truth about his family? Unable to cope, he walks away from the life he’d built for himself, only to discover his ties to Sulfur Springs might be stronger than he realized.

Tristan Stone is the youngest and most junior man on the Sulfur Springs Fire Department, making him the probie. His crew is amazing, and he’s watched one of his closest friends from high school fall in love with his Lieutenant. So why does he feel like he’s missing something? He’d thought he’d done well with hiding his attraction to the very straight Captain Walker Roberts, but has he? Without warning, Captain Roberts disappears in the middle of the night and Tristan realizes just how much he misses the older man once he’s gone. Is he coming back?

Tragedy strikes in Sulfur Springs and one of their own is caught in the chaos. Will Walker return in time to save the young man he’s silently watched for so long?

Saving My Sanity is the third book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin off, but it isn’t a requirement that you read that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be seen, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple, you should read them in order. Each book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.

The Men of Crooked Bend Series is my first published series and those Redfeather men will always have a special place in my heart. It was incredibly difficult to let those men go. It was originally supposed to be a trilogy but it ended up as an eleven-book series. In the Men of Crooked Bend series, you get to know the cowboys and other men of Wild Creek Ranch in Crooked Bend, Wyoming (a totally fictitious town). The series is set in the foothills of the Grand Teton Mountains, a place I fell in love with as a teenager.

Sulfur Springs is a closely related spin-off series to the Men of Crooked Bend. In it you leave Wild Creek Ranch and go to the little neighbor town of Sulfur Springs and meet the sexy men of the Sulfur Springs Fire Depart, the sheriff's department, as well as quite a few US Marshals. You see some familiar faces but you also meet some very new ones. It’s a complete series and has nine books to round off that world in a twenty-book world.

I love to read, it’s always been one of my favorite things to do since I can remember. When I started writing, I couldn't decide if I wanted to write contemporary or paranormal as I love both. I chose contemporary but still, paranormal was talking to me and those darn shifters kept saying, “tell our story, it’ll be fun.” So I did. And it was. That’s how I started what’s turned into Edison’s world. lol

It starts with the bears of the Honey Creek Den series. Honey Creek is another totally fictitious town set on Flathead Lake (a real place) in Montana. I've never been there, but hope to get there at some point. Honey Creek Den is finished with the planned six books. The Timber Valley Wolf Pack is the second series in that world and is also finished with six books. After the bears and wolves, I of course needed to give you Edison and his warlocks! The Warlocks of Amherst Series takes us away from the den and pack and we get to travel to Amherst, Massachusetts for some fun. The Vampires of the Beloved Gem follow Master Nikolai and his wayward vampires as they float up and down the Mississippi River in their riverboat casino. The Paranormal Council Enforcers is where we’ve ended up, and it is my current series. We’re meeting all kinds of enforcers who are busy dealing with evil while trying to win the affections of their fated mates.

When I'm not busy drinking coffee and writing about warlocks, vampires, wolves, or dragons (to name just a few), I like to read (who doesn't?). Because of my limited free time, I’m fond of short stories and novellas. I can be found on Amazon, Book Bub, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Taylor Rylan's Saving My Sanity is the third book in the Sulfur Springs series. It's a bi-awakening, coworker romance, telling the story of "straight" Walker who finally faces his attraction for fellow firefighter Tristan and embraces that newly realized Bisexualness by asking the other man out, then his whole world is turned upside down. For that matter, so does Tristan. During it all, they realize they can hold on to each other and be strong... they can thrive no matter the tumbling blocks, because they have each other.

The story does a fantastic job of bringing us into the action... making us feel the characters' emotions. I found myself hating certain secondary characters and falling in love with our main characters and thier extended "family". There are major drama topics these guys face but mixed into those serious scenes are the humor, the sweet and the sexy. This is definitely a satisfying story and makes me want to look into the whole series.

Captain Walker has been watching & working up the courage to ask someone out, it's been 2years. He says he is 32 and can not chase after a 20 year old. However he can't get past it, no one has interested him yet. Tristan is a "probie" the rookie of the firehouse for two years suggestions due in & he can pass the title on - finally. This gets intense story with life & death and endangered children. It is horrifying not for the fickle. Not all parents are good. This give your whole heart is a catch your breath moment. Not a Hallmark love story - this has grit & real life and love without bonds. More reviews @my2centsbooklover Thank you!

Well what can I say. I received and ARC for my review . I still purchased it today that’s how my I love Walker and Tristen and all the men of Sulfur Springs. I also love Taylor’s writing. If u have not read any of the Sulfur Springs books I recommend them all. But this one gives all the feels. Walker wants Tristan but Tristan has doubts because it’s his first time with an man, But Walker won’t give up. I’m not going to say too much because I don’t want to spoil it . Some things happen with Tristan’s family ( not so nice parents) and Walker is there every step of the way. I love them both. Hope u enjoy your read u won’t be disappointed.

Probationary firefighter means you're the grunt stuck doing all the chores the rest of your team doesn't want to do and some days Tristan wishes he wasn't the "probie," but it's better than being home with his fanatically religious parents who are trying to marry him to the preacher's daughter. Problem is, he's more interested in his "very straight" fire team captain who just seems to glare at him all the time. In all his thirty plus years, Captain Walker had never been so confused as he was when Tristan strolled into the firehouse on his first day. Two years later and he still doesn't understand what he feels when he sees the beautiful young man each shift, but he finally worked up the nerve to ask him out. Unfortunately that's when chaos, destruction and deception rain down on his entire existence and he doesn't know if he will survive.

I love older/younger, Firefighters, and problems being fixed. It’s complicated when 40 yr. old Captain Walker’s Dad in Cheyenne has a heart attack, but huge surprises are in store. Tristan, 20, is the “probie” at the Sulfer Springs firehouse, has trouble with his horrible religious parents, and wants to protect his three sisters. When he’s badly injured on the job, Walker is by his side, like the firehouse staff had been for him in Cheyenne. But the difference is, these two already smitten. We see Tristan’s family strife, and Walker coming to terms with his surprise. These guys are wonderful, they get to know each other, are super sexy, plus caring and big-hearted.
We get a fabulous outcome, epilogue, and HEA. I am loving this author, Taylor Rylan.
    Enjoy !

I don't know what it is about Walker and Tristan but I just loved this couple. Walker was that guy that didn't quite understand what it was about his coworker Tristan that he just couldn't stop thinking about him. And Tristan just couldn't figure out why Walker wouldn't stop staring at him. Then the day that Walker finally gets up the nerves to see if there could be something there with Tristan. But, unfortunately he is turned down. Walker was already down about being told no by the man that took over his brain, that the call from his mother was one that he wasn't needing. It was during this tragedy that Tristan was able to finally come to see that maybe he was too quick to say no. Then while on a call Tristan's life is almost taken away before Walker is able to finally show his true feelings.
This was a story about a couple that has a lot thrown at them. One thing after another is put in front of them that you would think would end things before they even have a chance to really begin. But, Walker is a man that you are able to see is 100% in when he find that one person that he truly loves.
I loved meeting this couple. This was definitely a couple that I didn't see coming together, but once they were I just couldn't get enough of them. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for this series.

Nothing is hotter than two sexy firemen falling in love and creating a family together. I love the Sulfur Springs series and the men in this town. Taylor Rylan makes you fall in love with her characters. Her stories make you feel all the emotions and if you are right there watching them unfold. I could not put this book down and you won't be able to either!
