Wary Is Her Love: An Urban Fantasy Action Adventure (The School Of Necessary Magic Book 3) Kindle Edition
It’s just another day at your average American high school for the magically gifted.
Dark magic is bent on destroying the school. A Drow princess is gaining powers faster than she knows what to do with them. Her best friend, a Jasper Elf can’t remember who she is, and her boyfriend turns into a wolf at night and runs with his pack.
By day, they’re trying out for the school play, worrying about who’s going to the fall dance, and oh yeah, are excited about Halloween when the dead can finally talk to the living again. Just your typical teenager in America when magic returns.
Alison, the Drow and her best friend, Izzie, the Jasper Elf are determined to get everything they can out of high school… even if they have to stay one step ahead of the Dark families to make it to graduation.

About the authors
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Thank you for checking out my stories! There's more at www.marthacarr.com.
Join us on Facebook to hear about new books, giveaways, an idea rolling around about a universe-wide scavenger hunt at the end of the year and more. If you like the series please leave a review and send me a note. More adventures to follow - and thanks for sticking with me.
Judith Berens is a figment of your imagination, made up of the fevered brainpower of Michael Anderle and Martha Carr, fueled by a lot of people helping them out - as well as all of you, The Fans. Great stories mixed with a lot of great readers equals more adventures to follow.
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2024Even though I’m not a young adult, in fact far from it, I have enjoyed this series. The underlying tension of disaster around the corner has me on edge anticipating the next book. It’s well written with no lapses in the entertainment of the experiences of the the the students at the academy of Necessary Magic. 👍👍👍🔮
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2022I love everything I've read from all the Authors in this Universe so far. A small complaint... If you read the Brownstone series as well, James Brownstone does not seem like himself in this series. I do realize that this is a YA book, but still. You could take the cussing out (if you don't think teenagers cuss, you've lost your mind) but still have him be his loveable awkward self, just saying. I'm not a teen, but I have been enjoying this series, and I don't find it too juvenile. It's keeping my interest just fine!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2023I am trying to start from the beging for series so I guess I am listening to 5 or 6 series. you get contracted for a few books and before you know it you are 11 books behind. I love how Martha Carr adds her real life into the plot of the stories. Don't reject these books because they are young adult. all top movies are focused on 15 year old girls.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2018I'm enjoying the Allison/Izzy friendship, Horace and the teenage interactions generally however it felt a bit like this book was a placeholder. It did a good job of developing the characters and relationships but not much for advancing the storyline of what the Drows and Dark Families are trying to accomplish. Let Izzy discover her roots already!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2018I usually give these 5 stars, this one needs a 4 1/2 wish they would let us do that. Too much teen emotional angst without resolution or discernable progress either way. I know these are toned down for a
YA audience but geesh guys! A little more action and less morose introspection please.
Still, buy it! The story line still shines and the characters are really fully developed personalities. (or as fully developed as any teenager) Waiting impatiently for the rest of the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2020Between books two and three some of the characters' relationships changed without any explanation. Tanner went from being a junior last year to a sophomore this year.
A lot of the little stories and situations in the book are pointless. They don't lend to the story or lead to another part of the plot. They're just filler.
The action and adventure and story could actually be a lot more in-depth.
Characters are just called to by their names and you have to go back and try to remember who they are. Some of the side characters are given too much of a storyline when they don't matter.
We haven't heard anything since book one about Scarlett and her friends in the bad part of Ruby falls.
The title, to this third book has nothing to do with the story that I can tell.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Allison and Izzie
I really enjoyed reading this one as much as the others. The gang seems to ended up having some good times mixed with the occasional headache caused by the dark wizards. Onwards to the next one.
