The Soft Touch of Angels: A Graham Saga Novella Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 143 ratings

After months of torment, Duncan Melville has had enough and punches one of his bullies in the face. In retribution, he is set upon by the tormentor’s much older brother…

There are few things that upset Alex as much as seeing a member of her family hurting. So when her ten-year-old grandson is severely injured she decides the only thing to do is to take him home, never mind that Duncan’s biological mother, Sarah, will likely throw a fit.

Sarah does throw a fit. She wants the living reminder of the terrible events that led to his unfortunate conception gone, immediately. Alex refuses. Duncan is a child—a child of her blood—and she will not fail him.

The Christmas spirit in the Graham home is seriously threatened as unhealed wounds break open. Caught in the middle is Duncan, a boy who doesn’t quite know where he belongs—or with whom.

Had Anna been allowed to choose, she'd have become a professional time-traveller. No luck there, so instead she became a financial professional with two absorbing interests; history and writing. These days, Anna combines an exciting day-job with a large family and her writing endeavours. Plus she always finds the time to try out new recipes, chase down obscure rose bushes and initiate a home renovation scheme or two.

Anna has authored the acclaimed time travelling series The Graham Saga , set in 17th century Scotland and Maryland, as well as the equally acclaimed medieval series The King’s Greatest Enemy.

Anna has also published The Wanderer, a fast-paced contemporary romantic suspense trilogy with paranormal and time-slip ingredients. Her September 2020 release, His Castilian Hawk is a story of loyalty and love set against the complications of Edward I’s invasion of Wales in the late 13th century.

Her most recent release, The Whirlpools of Time , is a time travel romance set against the backdrop of brewing rebellion in the Scottish highlands.

All of Anna’s books have been awarded the IndieBRAG Medallion, she has several Historical Novel Society Editor’s Choices, and one of her books won the HNS Indie Award in 2015. She is also the proud recipient of several Reader’s Favorite medals as well as having won various Gold, Silver and Bronze Coffee Pot Book Club awards.

Someone needs to slap the "H" out of Sarah!
This is a story of preteen Duncan.
Bullies and jerks. Rumors and lies. Gossip and slander.

Be sure to read this one!
It's short, but it's another part of The Graham Saga.

Anna makes the unbelievable seem possible when you are engrossed in her stories. The problems they have could be the problems of any family.

Everyone should read. Great writing. Time travel usually not my thing, but I read another book by this author and it was great as well. I really felt like I went back in time.

A beautifully written treat, especially if you are a fan of this series. But even if you haven't read any other of this author's books you will enjoy the well-defined characters, the detailed but *never* intrusive background and those conflicts which resonate with us today. How well the author understands the emotions of children, the bitterness of some adults and the all-encompassing love of others.
For a paltry sum, you will be able to step into another world which you may not want to leave...
