Scottish Werebear: A New Beginning: Scottish Werebears, Book 4 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.5 out of 5 stars 51 ratings

When Leah Hudson moves into her new bungalow in a quiet suburb of Glasgow, she's ready for a fresh start. No more night shifts at the call center. Instead, she'll pour all her energy into her budding Internet business. All seems perfectly idyllic, and she's even starting to connect to her reclusive but attractive neighbor, Matt. But trouble has a habit of finding Leah, and soon she'll find that her new life isn't as quiet and simple as she had hoped.

Matthew Argyle has been keeping to himself ever since developing delusions about turning into a bear against his will. He doesn't even leave the house, except to spend time in his backyard when the neighborhood sleeps. The arrival of a new neighbor, Leah, throws his carefully orchestrated life into a tailspin. He can't ignore the attraction, yet he's unwilling to subject her to his crazy.

One night, everything changes yet again. Matt must decide which is more important: staying in his comfort zone, or coming to the rescue of the woman he's begun to love.

What a lovely story, even the second time around. The sadness at times, producing tears, yet, the slow realization that things have changed, forever, while still sad, but not heart breaking. This one just hit on all the feelers, but knowing it gets better, ( because I’ve already read the series), helps. A lovely story, a heartfelt read. What a fabulous author.

So glad that Matt was found and that he then saw his older brother who he thought was dead. They are both bear's. And now Matt got to see his mom and dad again.

This story shoots pains right through the heart starting off with the child that came up missing so long ago how it happened and his feelings on that day. The fear along with his broken heart of how he was taken and what he was told really brings home what each child must go through when kidnapped. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to know you turn into something and not know why. Matt’s story is one of the saddest I have ever heard there is a bright side such as it is which still doesn’t take away from what and how it happen. It might start out on a sad note but does get brighter as Matt’s brother brings him home which still leaves Matt feeling lost and alone. This is the story of Matt learning what he is, how to deal with it and the women he loves. Not everything is as it seems there is much danger as one man fights for control taking over many lives for the good of the cause or so he said. We learn those we trust can’t be trusted and those we don’t trust me might want to.
Mr. Blackthorne’s narration was very good with interesting character voices that blends well with the story. His male voices are just as good as his female’s one. You always know who is talking and what their emotions are. There was one place that I could tell the volume changed just enough that you could tell if you were listening. I am guessing this is when a break was taken. Other than that the volume was very even throughout the audio. There are no background noises this is a very clear and clean audio. Mr. Blackthorne has a very nice voice his normal voice is just as great as his characters ones. I have to say for a man he does a very lovely female voice. His voice did pull me in making me feel comfortable and right at home. The author does an outstanding job with the passionate scenes really giving the first night of love true emotions. I have really enjoy listening to this series and look forward to listening to more of his work..

The characters are great the author really pulls you in breaking your heart you want to go back in time and pull Matt right out of the pages giving him back to the people he lost. Out of the whole series this one has touched me in so many ways. Again this could be listening to as a standalone the author fills in the missing parts it is better to listen to as a whole to get the full impact of the story. A short listen that really gets you in the heart bring great characters as they deal with issues from outside their race along with inside. The author does pull you in, her writing style is good she said a lot in a little time. There is action, danger, fear, love and power of one who wants control.

I loved the Scottish Werebear: A New Beginning. Scottish Werebear: A New Beginning is the fourth book in the Scottish Werebears Series. I loved that this book actually started out with a real prologue, and I loved the information that was provided and how it helped give important background information into Matt’s childhood and how he got separated from his family. I loved that Matt had a great life or as great as it could be as being a recluse. I loved that he became that way when his bear emerged for the first time at the age of 17. I loved that he thought he was delusional and that he couldn’t be a bear. I loved that he couldn’t control his shifting, so he decided to become a recluse. I loved that he couldn’t control his fascination with his new neighbor Leah and how they become friends by chatting on the phone and through emails. I loved how he rushed to help her when she said that there was somebody in her home. I loved that he went even though he had to go in bear form to save Leah from the bad guys. I loved that he was reconnected with his brother and other bear shifters in the Alliance. I loved that his brother taught him how to control his ability to shift no matter how stressed he got and that he finally got to go back to his house and Leah. I loved the emotional torment that Leah went through while Matt was gone as she analyzed her feelings for Matt. I loved that they had to keep their relationship secret from the Alliance. I loved Matt’s interaction with his parents for the first time since learning they were still alive. I would definitely recommend this book, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review.
