When Miguel decides to move back to his hometown to help his mom and sister, the only home in his budget is the abandoned and haunted estate he used to vandalize in his youth. He’s not exactly worried, but meeting the resident ghost isn’t high on his list of priorities. As Miguel sets about cleaning and converting the old barn into his new art studio, his ghostly housemate demonstrates strong opinions on Miguel’s life choices.

As far as new landlords go, Edward is pleased Miguel plans to restore his deteriorating ancestral home. Miguel’s ludicrous notion that men can wear dresses and sew, however, has Edward rethinking his ex-pastime in hauntings. But as Edward learns more about Miguel and his nontraditional lifestyle, plus the strange connection they seem to share, he can’t suppress his increasingly inquisitive nature or his burgeoning feelings for the one man who truly sees him, despite being invisible.

What starts out as a tentative truce, turns into something more as indignation melts into curiosity, then flirty teasing. Is it totally crazy that Miguel might have the tiniest crush on a ghost? Would it be even crazier to hope his ghost might have a crush on him back?

She’d love to travel the world one day but that would mean pulling her nose out of a book to appreciate the scenery around her and she’s not sure how she would feel about that.

    Wow this was a real tearjerker. I had to stop halfway through to take a break because I knew I was going to be crying so much. Edward is a ghost and has been haunting his family home for 98 years. Miguel moves back to his hometown and decides to buy the pretty cheap, yet possibly haunted old Blackwell house and barn. From their first encounter, Miguel was trying to be respectful of his ghostly companion. As the story went on they found a way to communicate with each other that was playful, sweet, and sexy at times. I really thought it was going to end differently but I was pleasantly surprised. Their love story is so sweet and beautiful. Grab a box of tissues (or in my case, a roll of paper towels haha!) and jump right into this wonderful story.

    Screwing With a Ghost is book three in the Haunted Love series. This is a series of nine books, all by different authors, this one written by Morgan Mason. It’s my first book by this author. All books are stand alones.

    Miguel Ramirez is an up and coming artist. Despite poor choices his mother has made in the past, Miguel feels compelled to move home to Blackwell, Oklahoma when she needs help after her divorce. With limited funds, Miguel buys the local “haunted house,” a house that he himself helped to vandalize when he was young. The house has been empty for years now and needs a lot of work but also has the perfect barn which can be used as his art studio.

    Edward Blackwell has been stuck roaming the property of his youth for one hundred years, since his life ended tragically along with his family. He’s actually happy to see his former home has a new owner and is excited that he wants to fix the house up.

    It doesn’t take Miguel long to realize that there is a ghost living with him but he makes every effort to make sure his roommate knows he wants to be friends. And friends these two become. Edward can’t speak but they find their own way to communicate. And the more time they spend together, their friendship deepens to more.

    This was a very sweet and fluffy love story. It’s a quick read and the perfect little Halloween treat. The bond between Miguel and Edward was so strong and it was so sweet to see the ways they found to be together, even to find a way to share some intimate times! Today was a rainy day and this was the perfect way to spend my afternoon.

A living man with an open heart. Their love story was so real and touching. Most IRL relationships never have this. I was practically doing cartwheels at the end, and that would be a feet for me. Looking forward to so many more reads of Morgan. This was my first.

    This is a clever and engaging ghost story.  I think it can be quite challenging to pull off a written ghost story,  as creating suspense and creepiness is hard with no visual tricks.  But, this one is well done. I was pulled into the atmosphere of Miguel’s new farm right away. I loved the detailed descriptions of the old Blackwell property, they really helped set the stage for an entertaining ghost story. The author does an excellent job balancing Edward and his possessiveness of his family home with the kindness and protectiveness he begins to feel towards Miguel. There is also wonderful emotion here, especially in Edward’s chapters. His utter joy at being acknowledged for the first time in almost a century when he and Miguel figured out they can communicate, is so heartfelt and poignant. No spoilers for they mystery of Edward and his family, but it adds real depth and impact to the book. This is a well crafted ghost story, with a great mix of humor and heart, a fun fall read complete with a satisfying happy ending.

    This one is super sweet and romantic. Miguel and Edward become friends despite the hampered communication. Then it quickly leads to more. I highly suggest having tissues handy for this story. It does get a bit heartbreaking towards the end but it is absolutely worth it to get to their HEA.

    A very emotional read that did a good job addressing the issues of romancing a ghost, namely the difficult lack of future. Watching these two men learn about each other, even with their difficulties to communicate, and each blossom and grow in their love was bittersweet. It was clear there was no way to be together but they loved anyway, but the heartbreak of that was fully addressed as well. It was a sweet and touching story. The only draw back was that the entire thing revolved around Miguel moving home to help his family......and then we literally never see the family or him doing anything to help. It just seemed odd to hinge the big life change on something that is never done. Outside of that, very sweet and easy read.

    Oh my heart, what a beautiful and at times emotional love story. The emotional connection between Miguel and Edward is so well written you feel their love, their pain and their hope.

    When Miguel moves back to his small hometown in Oklahoma to look after his mom and help his recently divorced sister with her three children the only property he can afford is the old run down Blackwell place, a place he used to hang out at with his mates smoking and drinking and he can remember breaking some of the windows himself!

    It’s common knowledge in the town that the place is haunted, a hundred years ago there was a tragedy and all the Blackwell family are buried in the family plot nearby, but Miguel is determined to make the best of it and if he has to live with a ghost he hopes he can befriend it.

    This is a new to me author and I like her writing style so I will be reading more of her books. This book is part of the new multi-authored Haunted Love series and I can’t wait to read some of the others.
