I can't even tell you! I fell head first into a black hole of ALL things Jamie and Jane and I COULD NOT FIND MY WAY OUT.

    It was emotional. It was physical. My heart raced, my chest ached, my tummy was so tight from angst, and my heart was FULLY invested in every moment with these characters.

    I COULD NOT BREATHE READING.

    I had so many feelings that at times I felt as if I was going to burst. This was an intoxicating experience. One I won't soon forget. Samantha Young delivers a sweeping love story! A gritty, heart-wrenching, twisty tale of love and vengeance!!! And there's not ONE thing I didn't love about it. This book makes you work for that HEA! It puts you through it as we follow Jamie and Jane through their teenage years into adulthood. We get to watch them passionately fall in love and then see as life teaches it's brutal lessons. It's tumultuous, it's devastating, yet so deep, so special.

    I swear, as I sit here writing this review, I almost don't know what to say to do it justice. It's one of the best books I've read this year. IT HAS SOUL. It's a standalone. A COMPLETE standalone (I have NOT read the other Play On novels). And it is one that NEEDS to be put on your TBR.

    I get asked ALL the time for recommendations, so here's one. A BIG ONE. You NEED this book. It will leave a mark on you. It will have you reeling and breathless, exhausted by the end, but so utterly fulfilled! It's a MUST READ.

    5 stars is not enough. It's a SIX star read. And it's in my TOP 3 this year, sitting proudly beside A King So Cold by Ella Fields and From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout. I ADORED it and I highly recommend it.

Then there were a few parts that didn’t quite fit with my expectation in the second half, like I was hoping for more in some aspect especially in the dialogue between Jamie and Jane, but Jamie under delivered or the plot didn’t quite match what I imagined from the synopsis. Regardless, I really loved Jane and wanted the best for her. I loved Jamie to a degree, but of course he made mistakes and acted recklessly. I heard all the things that he said, but needed more action to back up those words towards the end like the Jamie that was in the first half of the book.

    I am just blown away by this book. It was so very good. I had read other books in the Play On series (they are complete standalones) but somehow missed this one and didn’t know it existed until a friend read it and posted about it.

    If you want your heart put together and torn apart a couple of times each over the course of a story, this is it. Jamie and Jane are such wonderful characters, I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one day.

Jane has gone through so much loss in her life and she still manages to find the good in the people around her. When she becomes the new best friend of Lorna, she meets her brother Jamie and her older sister Skye. They welcome her into their family. As Lorna puts conditions on their friendship like not getting involved with her older brother Jamie, and promising not to go after guys they know the other likes, Jane starts to see another side of Lorna that she doesn’t really like. Jane and Jamie begin a friendship that turns into more. Horrible things happen that cause them to be apart and lies are told to keep them apart. What happens is a roller coaster. This story was so good. It took me days to recover after finishing.

They fall in love eventually by a horrible twist of fate results in the two being separated for 7 years, all due to a miscarriage of justice. All due to jealousy. The characters throughout this novel are so believable. Some are very manipulative, some down right hideous, some very kind, but all make a fabulous book. The story spans over 15 years and has many twists turns and intrigue that the reader encounters. It is a real tear jerker in places and tissues are essential. It is a story about young love blossoming between two people and the results of a jealous sibling. A delightful story by a phenomenal author and fantastic content. Leaves you emotional and sad that you have finished the book, but also happy for the two main characters. Revenge is a dish best eaten cold, but sometimes other faction take away that desire.
