    Charlie is finally getting her dream of a Sweet Shop. Alex can't believe that he finally gets the girl of his dreams. This book of following your heart and living your dream has many twist and tragic turns. I couldn't put this book down.

    Charlie ( Charlotte ) was a girl who thought her life was safe and secure heading for a future with boyfriend David she loved
    However after a shock split Charlie stayed home to lick her wounds, she kicked David to the curb for cheating and didn’t regret it at all, however David realised too late what he threw away and did his best to get her back, however I won’t spoil anything here but he is deranged in his methods.
    Her bestie gets her through rough times and as they hang out in the local pub the owner Alex finally sees his opportunity for a HEA he doesn’t know he wants after all he’s a serious one night only kind of guy but Charlie changes him and they forge ahead with new beginnings.
    I loved getting to know all the characters though I especially loved Alex’s brother James who works with Alex and support per him and Charlie throughout the story, I felt his loss and his strength for Charlie which was selfless as he was going through his own heartache.
    Tragedy strikes and again Charlie’s life is thrown into turmoil, only this time it’s life changing and heart breaking.
    We have a range of love, angst, anger, drama, sadness, death and new beginnings
    Fingers crossed James gets his story next 😘

    This novel stopped me at the synopsis, I kid you not. There was no way that I was going to miss the chance to pick up this beauty after reading it. Have you seen it, the synopsis I mean?

    Guys I can guarantee you, once you’ve read it you’ll be one clicking!!

    Let’s get to my thoughts.

    I loved Charlie and Alex’s story. A confronting one to say the least, but one that I’m glad the author took a gamble on.

    Relationships, they aren’t always sunshine and rainbows, they aren’t always the delight we would like to think they are, they aren’t always easy….We know this, and that’s exactly what we got here with both Charlie and Alex. What we got were the hard parts, the emotional parts, the rocky parts that can destroy your soul, but somehow manage to bring light. We got the raw and conflicting scenes, the anguished and heartbreaking moments. We got all the rawness your heart could expect, but it was the ‘what comes next’ that made it all worthwhile.

    A read that will stay with me for so many reasons, reason’s that I know you’ll find in among this beautifully written, heartbreaking, yet breathtaking love story.

    This is a terrific story by an author who is new to me. I really liked the blurb, but I was still surprised by how dark the plot got at times. There are a few messages in this plot, one being you never really know a person! Loved the twists and turns that kept moving the plot along at a nice steady enjoyable pace.

    Oh my god!! Lizzie James writes another great read. This is a new type of book and I was hooked from the start to the last page! The next book can be released sooner than later 😍

    Charlie was in a bad relationship, and got cheated on. She kicked her ex out, got fired from her job and got a new opportunity to open an bakery. She feels safe, but things aren’t as safe as she wants.

    Alex runs a bar, and owns a lot. He has a crush on Charlie and helps her out. He couldn’t stand her ex and with good reason.

    I love Charlie and Alex, their story is new, exiting and you can add a bit of drama in their relationship.

    It is no secret that I'm always on the hunt for a good romantic suspense, so when I saw the blurb to Safe With You, I knew I wanted it to be my first read from Lizzie James. I was rooting for Charlie from the very first chapter.

    I liked Charlie. She had been dealt a crappy hand in both life and love but she wasn't determined to somehow pick herself back up, again. Thankfully she had her firecracker of a best friend, Addie, to help push her out of her funk and into the path of hunky bar owner Alex.

    Ohhhhh Alex! I liked that he had lived a hard life but dug himself out of it. But he never let himself fall for someone. Until Charlie. Her gentleness and kind heart called to him. When a threat from her past wouldn't seem to leave her be, all his protective instincts came out.

    While it was no secret who was behind all the mayhem, I didn't see the turn Safe With You took coming at all. My heart was racing and then breaking as it all played out. Brimming with friendship and acceptance, Alex and Charlie's whirlwind romance was as dramatic as it was dreamy. And that ending...bittersweet with the right amount of tender to leave me with a smile.

    fell in love with every character in this book!
    Alex is one delicious man who has a darkness inside that is balanced with soft edges that he only shows to those he truly cares about. Charlie is adorable, fierce, and determined to live her best life. She and her best friend Addie are a dynamic team that have overcome some of life's toughest lessons together. Then there is James, Alex's brother who helps run the bar around the corner.
    Safe With You is full of surprises. One big surprise is Charlie's ex who is determined to destroy Charlie's happiness.
    A suspenseful, yet romantic ride with characters that are deep, emotional, and captivating.
