But I’m glad I stuck with it. This author is immensely talented and her work is an amazing experience to read. Her prose are poetic, and lyrical even, resonating profoundly in the reader's soul. She lures the reader in with hypnotic phrases and picturesque ballads, captivating the mind and gripping the heart. So why would I be ready to give up on this kind of writing?

It comes down to the intimate scenes. The details of the sexy times between the H/h aren’t very in depth, but I don’t take issue with that. This author does a beautiful job of building intimacy through thought and emotion, far more so than through physical descriptions, so that the intimacy between the hero and heroine easily transcend the mere physical. This makes it all the more puzzling for me to understand the need to give any details of the H being intimate with random women, not once, but TWICE. In a book that is so clearly a romance, with such deep, evocative emotion, those scenes serve no purpose except to possibly alienate the reader from a character she is supposed to love. It does nothing to advance the storyline or add to the romance. If anything, it potentially cheapens an otherwise beautiful, all encompassing, deeply heartfelt, soul stirring reading experience. Another minor thing that puzzled me was the same person going by two different names, Emma and Jane, and not having it explained. I understand the need within the storyline, but I would have liked an explanation so it didn’t leave me confused.

So I struggled with the star rating. If this were a book by a less talented author, I very likely would have given three stars, and perhaps less. That’s how strongly I feel about details of the hero's pre-heroine exploits in a romance novel. Without those scenes, this book is worthy of more than five stars. The author's gift for building a vivid, tangible, realistic world with endearing, flawed, compelling characters is clearly evident in this book, and the plot and storyline were fresh, unique and perfectly executed. I loved the supernatural element and how the author wove it throughout the story. She also did an excellent job of merging past and present and the different points of view. I will warn that this book also deals with some subjects that may be difficult for some (spoiler below) but the author did a wonderful job with it, handling it honestly but also gently and carefully, which again speaks to her talent.

In spite of my misgiving and discomfort with a small part of this book, I am glad I read it. This is one of those stories that touches you in ways you may not realize until days later, leaving you with a lot to think about long after the last page. It deals with a fascinating concept that can’t help but leave its mark, leaving the reader pondering, wondering, and perhaps with a different way of viewing the world and interactions with others. Soul mates, fate, destiny, eternal love. You may look at all of these things with fresh eyes after reading this book.

Where do I even start with this amazing, beautiful book! I wish you could rate higher than 5 stars because this book truly deserves it. The story of Luna and Clay literally blew me away. While they come from completely different pasts, there is a connection between them like no other. Clay has sadness in his life and doesn’t believe he deserves any happiness. Until Luna comes along, and he is completely ensnared by her. But Luna has a secret she is afraid to tell Clay about for fear of losing him. Can they be together? Should they be together? This writer is so descriptive that you can truly envision what these characters look like. And it is very emotional on so many levels, that yes, I needed a few tissues. But I truly loved this book with all my heart. I didn’t want it to end. Pleas do yourself a favor, and read this breathtaking story!

I don’t know what to label this book. It’s mostly a contemporary romance. However, there are metaphysical aspects to it that could place it under the paranormal category.

I loved Luna. She was such a sweet person, just starting out on life away from home, having her first experiences in college. But, she was haunted nightly by reoccurring nightmares. And those nightmares got more concentrated, to the point where the woman in her nightmares haunted her daily life. The choice she made near the end … I think I would have done the same thing. She didn’t know who she was anymore, and anyone in her situation would question the same things.

I felt for Clay, I really did. His past was so heartbreaking. He had a true love, one for the ages, but she fell into a downward spiral of depression and couldn’t see her way out of it. Honestly, I didn’t understand where a lot of her anger toward Clay came from. Regardless, back to Clay, a lot of what he did in the story made me not like him very much. He was hot and cold, running more cold than anything.

When everything comes together in the end, the overall story is really beautiful. Second chances, true love, the afterlife, fixing your mistakes and redeeming yourself. It’s an amazing idea that I know I hope is true.

I thought Samsara was a interesting story , this would be the first one I've read by Jo- Anne Joseph and I'm wanting to see more by the author . This had a unique plot with things I didn't see coming and characters that really drew me into what was going on with them .
I don't want to give much away but know that this was a good read that you don't want to miss .

This is a new author to me so I was not sure what to expect, however, I cannot wait to read more of her work. Luna is haunted nightly by reoccurring dreams, to the extent that they impose of her daily life. Clay had a heartbreaking past, and is instantly drawn to Luna, as there is a connection on some level between them. This is a beautifully written story, which is emotional, and with secrets. I was hooked and intrigued throughout. I recommend this talented author for all readers!

This book was wonderful, sad, heart-breaking, loving, interning and captivating all that the same time. I just love to read stories by this author as she always has me thinking about her words and stories. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review. I read this book while on a driving holiday in the Northen territory of Australia so I was given a delimmer had I had to decide to read or look at the view. At time the book won as I just simply had to see these characters to the end of the great story.
