Will the magic still be there when they wake on Christmas morning?

Rudi comes to Santa’s Secret Village in the Arctic Circle looking to sell the resort, having long since lost his Christmas spirit. His seven-year-old daughter already knows the truth about Santa, and neither of them is in the mood for the festive season.

But then they meet Eva, struggling with a suitcase that bursts and scatters her underwear in the snow. Practically a recluse since the death of her husband eighteen months before, Eva’s not looking for romance and is there to try to make Christmas more festive this year for her young son. But she brings an unexpected sparkle to Rudi and Isabel’s lives that renews their belief in the magic of Christmas.

As the weather grows colder, things heat up between Rudi and Eva. But will the magic still be there when they wake on Christmas morning?

Warning: contains hot and sexy scenes in a Finnish sauna and a huge dollop of Christmas magic.

From the Inside Flap

"Thank you for a lovely day," she said to Rudi as they neared the cabins. "It's been much better having someone to share it with."

"Yes, it has." He slowed to a halt, and they watched the kids walk up to inspect the model of a reindeer that stood out the front with the cabin numbers, both of the children too tired to throw snowballs.

Eva shoved her gloved hands in her pockets and looked up at Rudi. He seemed all height and breadth, his thick dark overcoat emphasising his size. He was so lovely, gentle and kind, with an understated sexiness she really liked. He smelled nice, his aftershave stirring her senses, and even though he'd been nothing but gentlemanly, there was something in the way he looked at her that lit a fuse right at the base of her spine to send tingles all the way to the nape of her neck.

"We'd better go in," she murmured, but somehow her feet refused to move.

"Yes," he said, staying where he was.

The snow fell, light and delicate on his dark blond hair where he'd removed his hat, touching his eyelashes, and one flake fell on his lips. He automatically sucked his bottom lip as the snowflake melted, and Eva caught her breath. The tingle running through her body magnified to a tremble at the thought of him pressing those lips to hers. She hadn't been kissed in so long. And the notion of this magnificent Viking taking her in his arms and pulling her close made her breathless with desire.

His lips curved a little, and her eyes rose to meet his, finding them filled with warmth and amusement. He stepped a little closer, slowly, as if she were one of the reindeer ready to bolt at any second. Then he lowered his head and pressed his lips against her cheek.

"Goodnight, Eva."

"Goodnight," she whispered. How innocent--just a brush of lips against skin, and yet her heart pounded, her heated blood warming her as it raced around her body.

He turned and took Isabel's hand, walked up the path and opened their door, and turned for a last wave before going in. The snow fell, their footsteps already beginning to disappear.

But the kiss would linger on her cheek for the rest of the night.

Another excellent holiday read from Serenity Woods.

Eva, a young widow with a small boy takes him on a trip to Finland for Christmas. In the chalet next to hers, she finds Rudi.

"When the viking smiled, Eva's breath caught, a tingle running between her shoulder blades and down her spine. It had been a long time since a man had looked at her like that, as a woman and not as a mother, as if it didn't matter she had a bawling child in her arms, which usually caused men to act as if she sprayed herself with repellant. "

Finnish Rudi is a divorced father of a young girl. He's at the park on business.

"He remembered the moment he'd turned to see her standing there, arms full of suitcases, eyes wide as she stared at him. She'd worn a thick brown duffle coat and a scarlet scarf that had complimented her sleek, dark hair and the rosy flush in her cheeks."

From there the story has its ups and downs, laughter, tears and more spice than a mulled wine.

Thank you Serenity for offering this great story for free in the lead up to Christmas.

Santa's Secret is about reconnecting with the Christmas spirit.

Rudi came to Santa's Secret Village in the Arctic Circle, looking to sell the place after looking at it one last time. He bought his daughter, but they had already lost their Christmas spirit, as he and the mother are no longer on speaking terms and the poor kid picked up on that. Rudi did not count on meeting Eva and her young son in the next room over. Eva was a virtual recluse after the death of her husband 18 months ago, but they were already not on speaking terms before he wrapped his car around a tree. Eva is just there to make her son's Christmas more festive, but she unexpectedly brought life and hope to Rudi and his daughter. But will magic be still there come Christmas morning?

It's a bit of an insta-love, but well-tempered by the cold. The two kids are adorable, and overall a pretty good read.

Love Christmas stories. The feeling of a blessed season and romance. Wonderful characters with a realistic story. Enjoyed this book.

Santa’s Secret Village is a family vacation resort in Finland. After inheriting it, Rudi wants to go there to check it out so that he can decide whether to sell it or not. Thinking the best time to get a good impression of the place would be at Christmas time, he and his 7-year-old daughter, Isabel, went to the Village over the Christmas holidays. Neither believes in Santa so they don’t expect to particularly enjoy their time there. But when they meet Eva and her 3-year-old son, Oscar, their views on Christmas change. They soon get caught up in Christmas magic and have a wonderful time.

This is an enjoyable story about bringing families together and it makes you believe in the magic of Christmas. The characters interact with each other in such positive ways that you just love them all. But the heat between Rudi and Eva adds a new dimension to the story. There are steamy sex scenes that are descriptive but not erotic. Their relationship was not just sex but better-rounded with activities with their children included.

If you like steamy Christmas romances with magic thrown in, you will enjoy this book.

Santa's Secret Village in Finland is such a magical, glittering Christmas location for a love story. This is the story of two sad and lonely single parents who get a chance at real love the second time around. They are both in Finland visiting Santa's Secret Village with their child, for very different reasons, but they find themselves drawn to each other. If you fall in love with this wonderful place, be sure to read My Christmas Billionaire by Serenity where you return there. Heck, read that whole Noah's Ark series because it is great! In Santa's Secret Village, there are so many sparkling Christmas experiences that I dare you to not get in the spirit of the season. And it is the perfect place to fall in love. But Rudi, who actually inherited the place from his late father, is from Finland and has no interest in a relationship after his divorce. Eva is from England and she feels guilt and shame because her husband died in a drunk driving accident and their marriage was falling apart then anyway. It seems unlikely that they can make this work, and throw in two adorable kids, there are many complications. As usual, Serenity finds a happy ending and she throws in some steamy scenes (got to love a sauna!) along the way. This is such a perfect Christmas tale to snuggle up with.

Eva is a single mother of a precocious little boy named Oscar. Her husband died while driving drunk, leaving Eva to raise Oscar by herself. She’s taken Oscar to Santa’s Secret Resort, a Christmas themed village in the Artic Circle for Christmas over the objections of her mother in law.
Rudi is the divorced father to Isabel, a darling girl who is in the middle of a tug of war between her parents, with her mother being the disappearing, overbearing sort. He’s also traveled to Santa’s Secret Resort, but not to celebrate the holiday. His father built the village a long time ago and with his passing, Rudi is looking to see about selling it.
This is a good story, I also liked the characters. My only issue and the reason for the 4 stars is because the book seemed to drag at times. For a short story, it should have been a fairly quick read, but I just couldn’t fully immerse myself and get involved. This is my first time reading a story by Serenity Woods and I’m not sure if I will continue on with any of her books at this time.

Cynical Rudi finds the magic of Christmas with Eva (and so does serous Miss Isabel with energetic little Oscar). The family scenes ring true and Santa’s Secret Village is real. This festive romance is a sweet as candy canes and as hot as a Finnish sauna.

This is such a wonderfully written story, there wasn't a thing I didn't enjoy about it. You have a divorced Dad and his 7 year old daughter who do not believe in the magic of Christmas anymore, and a widowed Mum and her 3 year old son who are trying to keep the magic alive. When they meet at Santa's Secret Village (which I want to visit!) they help each other in so many ways, but one lives in Finland and the other in the UK, how will they get their HEA? Should they get a HEA, or have they just met to show each other how to move on?

Wonderful characters and real life thoughts and feelings. I throughly recommend this Christmas read - any time of the year - as we all need to keep the Christmas magic alive inside us!
