Book 1-Key to Savannah

Months after the untimely death of mafia made man “Vinnie Garlucci,” his devoted wife, Carlita, discovers a mysterious key in one of his pockets while sorting through his belongings.

With help from her daughter, Mercedes, she sets off to find out what the mysterious key belongs to and soon discovers she has inherited property in historic Savannah, Georgia. Carlita views the property as a sign and remembers Vinnie’s dying words to her to get their family out of the mafia.

Against the wishes of her three sons, mother and daughter embark on a road trip to explore the property. While they're gone, someone breaks into their home and vandalizes it. This is the second time it has happened since Vinnie's death and Carlita is convinced that it's somehow tied to the mafia.

Carlita and Mercedes are looking forward to leaving their old life behind with a fresh start in beautiful Savannah. They quickly realize you can run but you can’t hide from the past.

Book 2-Road to Savannah

Carlita Garlucci has sold everything she owns and left the only home she has ever known to move to historic Savannah, Georgia. Her daughter, Mercedes, is moving with her and the women are both excited and nervous about this new chapter in their lives, having always lived under the shadow of the men in the family.

The repairs to their inherited properties are moving along nicely and everything seems to be falling into place, everything that is, except for the body they discover inside one of the buildings, the dilapidated restaurant.

Despite the fact that the Garlucci family was not even in Savannah at the time the victim was murdered, they can't prove it. On top of that, the victim, a member of Savannah Architectural Society, also known as "SAS," had been sent to the property to discuss possible construction violations.

The other members of SAS are convinced the Garlucci family murdered one of their own while Carlita is convinced that someone is trying to frame them.

Can the mother / daughter duo figure out who the real killer is, or will the police dig into Carlita's past and discover that she has her own share of secrets she's trying desperately to leave behind?

Book 3-Justice in Savannah

Carlita and Mercedes Garlucci have settled into their new life in Savannah and are eager to get their rental units occupied as well as their other businesses up and running, but the local permit officials are dragging their feet with delay after delay.

When Mercedes decides to help move things along by organizing a protest for justice in front of the local government offices, things go from bad to worse as one by one, all of the protesters become targets of vandals.

After the vandals ramp up the attacks, the mother and daughter duo vow to fight back despite having their hands full with an obnoxious tenant who could quite possibly cause Carlita to commit a crime of her own!

Will they discover who’s behind the attacks and stop them before someone gets hurt or will their dreams in Savannah become the stuff nightmares are made of?

    I liked them...I liked the characters. I don't understand the laugh-out-loud funny comments by some reviewers, however...I have read all 9 of her novels now, and there was maybe a chuckle or two (usually over Elvira), but not hilarious! Maybe smile or chuckle-worthy!

    They are entertaining, no big action scenes, but a fairly interesting mystery. However, the whole book works toward the mystery and then it all seems solved 'off-screen.' :-)

    However, sometimes you just need a calm, soothing, easy-to-read book to take you out of the current rat race and this certainly does it. Also, having been to Savannah recently, I have really enjoyed the descriptions of the city. That was a big plus.

    If you don't want to do the heavy-lifting with a novel, this fits the bill...very soothing read at the beach or before bed. Enjoyed immensely.

    Carlita Garlucci has just lost her husband. While going through his things she finds a !st to a safety deposit nox. In the box is another key which ends up belonging to property in Savannah, GA. Before she knows it, she sells her house in NY and moved to Savannah with her daughter. As they struggle through creating a new life for themselves, it becomes apparent that not everyone in their new city wants to welcome them with open arms.

    This set includes the first 3 books in the series. Each one interesting and fun to read!!

    I read this on my Kindle from Amazon and I was getting very tired of the story line by the time I finished the fourth novel. They were more like short stories and I had found that I do not need to order "cozy" mysteries as they are too mildly composed and the main characters seemingly fall into the solving of the situation with too much ease. I am also from Savannah, the main reason I attempted the read, and the fictitious names of parks and some of the other sites were distressing, Very little of the description was authentic.

    I started this series because of the Savannah background which is my city. I liked Hope's other cruise and garden girls. I do not like the mafia connection and was surprised by but as the other series include prayer at every turn. Despite this MS Callaghan writes interesting stories. I am disappointed she changed the names if alk the square scans downtown streets. The exception is Morrell Park. I understand changing the area name where the characters live but changing the rest makes no sense. And Savannah Hampton Police etc. Just call it Savannah Police.

She finds a deed to three buildings in Savannah and some gems, so she takes them and leaves with her daughter, Mercedes, to start a new life. Carlita thinks if she fixes up the place she chose that her sons will come. Son, Venie, comes there, but Tony hasn’t stayed, yet. This is a fun to read series.

    I thoroughly enjoyed these books and could hardly put them down. Often reading much longer than I intended to. After he death of her mafia husband, Carlita finds a deed to a property in Savannah Georgia, in a safety deposit box with her name on it. As she had promised her husband to get her family out of New York and the "business", Carlita and her daughter, Mercedes, go down to check out the property. The property needed a lot of renovations to make it liveable, but would also provide income when it was finished. After cleamjng up some messes left by her husband, the two women sell their home in New York and moved to Savannaah. Their presence was not welcomed by all, nor was their proposed businesses. Over the three books they had to contend with a murder, vandalism and unpleasant tenants, but they find that they love their new home.

    Just finished the first three Savannah books. They are some of the best cozy mysteries I have read. I also enjoyed your cruise ship and garden girls books and am looking forward to reading more. I highly recommend them to anyone who reads cozy mysteries.
