Save Me: A Rutledge Brothers Book Kindle Edition
At least until his irresistible brainiac of a counselor Silas Rutledge comes along and tells him he can’t.
That it’s wrong.
That he’s “worth more.”
As if.
Only the more Silas talks, the more Elijah starts to think that it might be true—that he’s someone of value instead of a toy made for better men.
That maybe he can be saved.
Elijah McMillan doesn’t want to be fixed, but his case is one Silas Rutledge refuses to give up. With his sharp mind, quick wit, and stunning good looks, he has the potential to do anything.
If only he’d let Silas help.
For every step forward, Elijah bounds three paces back, and one of these days when he jumps, Silas is sure he’ll come tumbling into his arms. All he can do is hope that when it happens, he’ll have the strength to turn him down.
He can’t fall for his patient.
Not now. Not ever.
No matter how badly he wants to.
Save Me is the second novella in the Rutledge Brothers series. Please note: this book was previously released in February 2017 under the same title, but its contents, including plot, have significantly changed.

About the author

Piper Scott’s love of reading began at age ten, when she discovered that the magical worlds in adult fantasy novels were way more exciting than playground politics. As she grew up, so did her reading habits, and now not only does she like to read books on the steamy side, but she loves to write them, too.
A Canadian by birth but an American by marriage, Piper currently resides in Southern Illinois, where she leads a quiet life with her husband, their three dogs, a very demanding cat, and her office mate—her pet rabbit.
If you love Piper’s omegaverse, mpreg, and paranormal romance books, be sure to check out her work as her gay contemporary romance alter ego, Emma Alcott!

Piper's books are interconnected. For complete immersion, the recommended reading order is as follows:
Rutledge Brothers Series:
Love Me > Save Me > Keep Me
His Command Series:
Obey > Beg > Stay > Heal > Breathe
Single Dad Support Group Series:
The Problem > The Proposal > The Solution > The Decision > The Promise > The Answer > Single Dad Sundays
*The Forbidden Desires series, co-written with Virginia Kelly, takes place concurrent to the events of Breathe. All other co-writes are not directly connected to Piper's omegaverse.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2024This is a thoughtful love story. The counselor, Silas, had a difficult decision. Elijah understood and that was the impetus to succeed. A touchingly sweet ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2020This is the second book in The Rutledge Brothers series. I’ve read this book three times already, but this is my first time reading the updated version. I liked this updated version a lot, and I had fun reading this book. Compared to Love Me, the first book in this series, Save Me has a much better plot structure and pacing, but due to its short length, I think it falls a bit shy of its true full potential.
Save Me focuses on Elijah, one of the rescued omegas from The White Lotus, an illegal brothel. Elijah is angry at the world and holds a very low opinion of himself and omegas in general. It takes working with Silas, an alpha counselor, to finally break through his defenses and help him on the path towards healing.
I recommend this book, especially since it introduces one of the main character from the first book in His Command series, Obey.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**
In the second Rutledge Brothers novella, Save Me, we meet Silas and Elijah. Silas Rutledge is an Alpha and also a certified counselor who helps omegas who have suffered emotional trauma.
After the raid on an illegal brothel (book one), the counseling center took in all the omegas that needed the most help. One omega in particular believed everything that had happened to the brothel was wrong. He did not believe he needed any help. He just wanted to go back to work at the brothel. He felt he was only good for one thing and he planned to use his counselor to escape. After all, Alphas were easy to tempt.
While I enjoyed the story, I felt the end was rushed. I would have loved to see the romantic relationship between Elijah and Silas. Instead we meet them, see the seeds plant, watch as Elijah begins to come into himself and then we have an epilogue that takes place two years later. In the epilogue we get commitments, "I Love Yous," and a minor coming together scene.
***sigh... This one didn't do it for me the way most P. Scott books do. That being said, Scott's commitment to characterization and writing style are top notch.
I am looking forward to meeting the third Rutledge triplet. Next book please!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.💋
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2021This is an omegaverse romance with mpreg elements, and it’s the second book of a trio that should be read in order. The gritty reality of the omega sex trade is shown through the rehabilitation of those set free after the events of the first story. Can the Omega find worth in themselves in a world that places no value on them? Such a beautiful story, I was surprised by the direction the author took and loved it!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2019This is a great followup to Love Me, the first book in the Rutledge Brothers series. This quick read is an extremely slow burn romance, and rightfully so.
After the takedown of The White Lotus, Director Baylor's sex trafficking ring, the omegas were brought to a rehabilitation facility. Elijah, having been told all his young life that omegas were a drain on society and only good for one thing, is not interested in being rehabilitated. He wants to go back to what he knows, and not betray Baylor, the man who got him off the streets and in his rightful place.
Silas Rutledge is an Alpha who specializes in counseling the most traumatized and difficult omegas. When he is put on Elijah's case, he knows he is in for a battle. Not only because Elijah refuses to accept that his life is worth more than what he has been dealt, but also because Silas knows that he is starting to have inappropriate thoughts about a client. Still, he does his best to help Elijah understand that his genes do not control his worth.
Elijah had a plan. He knew what he was going to do, but after talking with his roommates at the center, he begins to realize he may be going about things all wrong. What if he really wants the things he was planning to con Silas into? When he changes tactics, Silas offers another chance to get outside for a little while.
But this time, Elijah is overcome with anxiety and fear. When he gets trapped in a dangerous situation, Silas is there to protect him. But should he now be afraid of Silas? He's gone into heat, and everyone knows alphas are ruled by their instincts. Elijah fears that he could be facing the same danger as before, only this time from his protector.
Silas is a professional, but more than that, he respects Elijah. He gets him to safety, and leaves. When Elijah awakes to find his heat is over, he is told that Silas wants to see him. But, Silas is there to say goodbye; at least for the time being. If Elijah works to find his own worth, and makes a life for himself, then he can come to Silas. Not as a patient, but as an independent man. In the end, there is a coming together of the two, but this is definitely not a book filled with sexy times. It is, however, a book about patience and the knowledge that one must be whole as a person before they can ever be half of a whole with another. The slow burn over, our MCs are well on their way to their very own HEA.
Happy reading!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2019I love the message of this book. But to find out what it is you must read it! We were introduced to the triplets in the first book of the series but this time it's Sila's story. He is a psychiatrist that although some may disagree, he believes Omegas should be treated as equals. After the shut down of the White Lotus, he has his hands full. Including one stubborn omega names Elijah. Elijah has heard the same thing all his life and has a lot to overcome to not believe all the things he's been told are true. This is a quick short read that brings happiness to all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
This was a very interesting book.
Hard to read a little at times as it hurt my heart for them.
I loved Silas and Elijah. Silas stayed true to himself the whole book, and the evolution of Elijah was beautiful to watch.
Very good book, that I couldn't put down
