The Saxon Warrior's Captive Bride (Medieval Brides Book 2) Kindle Edition
Unable to forget the enigmatic young man she glimpsed from afar six years ago, Norman heiress Arlette de Villiers has spurned every other suitor placed before her. When her home is destroyed in a raid, she’s taken captive by Saxon warlord Orson Greywell, the same man she’s dreamed of for six years. Disguised as a servant, she plots vengeance, battling her growing attraction for the powerful Saxon.
Orson Greywell’s sister was murdered by the de Villiers family, and he took revenge by destroying their home and seizing their belongings and servants as a blood price. One of the prisoners—defiant and spirited to the point of rashness—stands out against the rest, and Orson struggles to conquer the need to tame her in his bed.
Arlette’s life is forfeit if Orson discovers her identity. But other forces are at work, plotting against them both. Arlette and Orson must learn that forgiveness is the path to true happiness, before their thirst for revenge destroys them.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2023Enemies to lovers, Angst, Hate versus love and forgiveness. Deception, Trickery, Revenge, Prideful, Family Secrets, Stubbornness all were keeping the love between Orson and Arlette from finding the deep love they shared. An evil cousin, Kidnapped and given up for dead. There was a confluence of mitigating factors blurring the deep love and forgiveness needed. Overlapping complicated paths to navigate to find out the truth. Interesting read, happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2022A captivating story of revenge and betrayal but also an epic love story, well written and emotional. Orson and Arlette took me on a wonderful journey of forgiveness and happiness that shines brighter than hatred and vengeance.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2024So much heartache, so much some times too much stubbornness but over all this book kept me wake . Very different setting and unique story. Glad you follow up with Wildstorm family. Loved.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2024At first I only gave it a 3 stars. I thought pride was pushed too hard on all sides. I think he was cruel.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2022The hero in this book is not a hero; we constantly hear how he loves the heroine, but he never shows her nor tells her. He scars her body and feels bad about it, but that’s where it ends. And his wife loves him and still loves him. So, it was a violent time, but what Russia is doing in Ukraine doesn’t quite make the violence in this book towards women any more acceptable. Like violence towards women, children, innocents is wrong. Period.
He is not a worthy man. He makes me sick when he suffers internally.
I gave three stars for the author’s writing style and plot presentation.
I don’t think the epilogue was all that awe inspiring. What would be awe inspiring would be to see some action towards redemption on his part rather than the twinges of conscience he gets. What one heroic thing did that man do for her? Aside from saving her from the boat. My mother always said actions speak louder than words. The supposed hero’s actions towards the heroine were deplorable. I have all the books written by this author, and they are gritty but this one turns me off. I hope this hero is an aberration and the next one is more than a pathetic excuse for a man.
Arlette was pretty good at stating the obvious about him. When others were trying to get her to be more docile, she told the truth. She was a great character.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2024Loved this book. It will be great if the story could be recorded in an audio book. Waiting for listen in Audibles.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2023I just love Emily Royal medieval bride's series. This story was written beautifully. I love the main characters. The whole of a vengeance, lost, friends, loyal, families, love, and more. Keep writing. Thanks for your stories. I really do enjoy reading them.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2023even given the fact that women were treated like chattel then. There was also the whole Norman/Saxon strife of melding a nation. I agree with the reviewers who wrote that there was something uncomfortable and irredeemable about the MMC’s character. I couldn’t decide if he was incapable of reason due to gullibility or mental illness. The sex was present but the romance was not IMO. Rather read one of Kathryn LeVeque's better balanced works any day.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good read
I have enjoyed both books in this series and hope that more novels in a similar vein follow. More gritty than many stories set in the early Middle Ages with a more realistic portrayal of the place of women at that time

5.0 out of 5 stars Another greatcread
A historical novel. Well written. Story line believable and weaves in and out keeping the story moving along. English history at its most controversial.
