Scoring Off The Ice (Ice Kings Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 1,189 ratings

Sometimes scoring off the ice leads to the greatest rewards.

I’ve had only one goal in life since I first strapped on a pair of skates—make America’s pro hockey league.

I left Denmark. I made it to the top. Now, I’m determined to be the best. No distractions. I eat, sleep, and breathe hockey.

Until my birthday when my teammates convince me to live a little.
But living a little takes on a whole new meaning when less than a year later I’m confronted with a crying baby on my doorstep, drooling on a note that declares he’s mine.

Suddenly, I'm a single dad in way over my head.
There is no playbook for situations like this.

Luckily, I have Paisley.
My gorgeous neighbor, my long-time crush, and now—my savior.
She’s there any time I need her.
Helping. Guiding. Gazing at me with those green eyes that make me feel capable of this after all.

With her at my side, I’m quickly learning there’s more to life than winning a hockey game.

I just read the first two books and am now purchasing the next book. I love this author and will look for her other books.

Mikah & Paisley have been neighbors for a while, and while both find each other attractive they never spoke. One day, Paisley finds a baby dropped off in front of Mikah's door.

From the beginning, neither Mikah nor Paisley knew what was happening or if anything would develop between the both of them. Paisley just wanted to help and Mikah was absolutely clueless when he discovered he was suddenly a single dad. I enjoyed both characters and the connection that they felt over baby Angelo.

The third act break up situation, I felt, was a lot more dramatic than necessary. I felt like it didn't need to happen at all. The "reason" for this situation was resolved so quickly that it almost made it pointless to add in at all for me.

Mikah came from Denmark to play professional hockey and he was letting nothing stand in his way including women. Ice was his focus. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t notice his new neighbour, but he knows the ice has to be his focus.
Paisley can’t help but keep waiting for a glimpse of her neighbour, she knows chances that anything would happen between them is slim. When Paisley hears a noise and finds a ‘package’ at his door she knocks to let him know. That one knock changes both of their lives.
Mikah never thought anything would be more important than Hockey, now he has his baby and Paisely, although with Paisley he’s not sure how to let her know. After talking to a friend, Mikah makes sure Paisley has no doubt on how he feels. Until his baby’s mother shows up making demands, confused on how to stop losing his baby he pushes Paisley away hoping to sort things out. He doesn’t tell her why and Paisley isn’t happy. Can Mikah explain the reason and make Paisley understand. Or will he lose the one thing other than his baby and hockey that he loves.

When you don't know your neighbors, you never know what to expect. Well that's what Paisley quickly found out. This is a fun and steamy story of how two stranger neighbors bond over a single moment in time. It's a great read if you want something light, something steamy, and something that will have you dreaming.

Grad student Paisley Hughes didn’t know who lived across the hall from her uncle’s apartment but she liked to watch him come and go from his apartment. She never met him until the night she heard a noise in the hall and found out it was a baby with a note. The note said the baby belonged to hockey player Mikah Lutzgo and he asked Paisley to help him out since he had never taken care of a baby and he wasn’t sure it was his.

Stacey Lynn has taken secret/ one weekend stand baby and written her own twist on it with Mikah having very little experience with women.

Scoring Off the Ice is a good sports romance that any romance reader needs to read. Scoring Off the Ice is the second book in the series Ice Kings.

Although this is part of a series this book can stand alone. Our hero is a serious hockey player who suddenly finds himself as a father. Meanwhile Our heroine helps him learn how to become a dad. Good romance even though the forgiveness comes a bit fast.

Mikah is one of the youngest and newest members of the Ice Kings hockey team, his goal has always been to play in NHL and nothing else mattered , he needs to stay focused because he knows even though he has earned his spot on the team, that spot can easily be taken away....
His birthday was meant to be a night of fun and passion, a night to let lose and then go back to focusing on his dream career, it was meant to be one night but now nearly a year later he suddenly finds himself a father with no idea how to raise a baby ........
Paisley finds the baby on her neighbors doorstep with a note attached to him and when she realises the hot guy across the hall as no clue when it comes to babies she steps up to show him the ropes.
As this couple spend time together feelings grow as does the sexual chemistry and Mikah finds himself wanting more than just a career playing hockey, as Paisley helps him stumble through learning how to be a father he finds himself wanting this strong, sassy yet funny woman in his life ..
This is an entertaining read that captivated me from the first page to the last line, I loved the plot, I loved all the characters
