She really shouldn't fall for a guy with a death wish.

Naomi LeClaire sighed as she stopped her truck in the middle of the road. She didn't dare pull over to the side. The rain pounding down could wash away the ground on either side of the road in minutes. But it wasn't like there was any other traffic out here in this storm so taking up the center of the road wasn't really a problem.

Thank God this road was paved at least. It wasn't unusual for Donovan to go out on dirt roads and even on not-really-roads-at-all when he was doing rescue and recovery missions for injured wildlife.

She peered through the rain that was pelting her windshield so hard her wipers could barely keep up.

He was lying on the road in front of her truck. Next to the body of a dead bear.

She shook her head.

A few months ago she would have been alarmed to pull up and find a man lying in the road next to a dead animal.

Today...she'd been expecting this. Or something like it at least.

Of course, a few months ago—i.e., before Donovan Foster had showed up in her tiny hometown of Autre, Louisiana—she wouldn't have been out driving around while a hurricane was making landfall two hundred miles east of them.

She really shouldn't fall for a guy who loved action and adventure and chaos and who either thought he was invincible or didn't really care if today was his last one on earth.

But Donovan was out here because there were three orphaned black bear cubs that needed rescued and he would, of course, not go anywhere until they were all found and taken back to his rehabilitation center.

Or until someone convinced him that his well-being was just as important as theirs.

Naomi shut the truck off and reached up to pull her hair back. She wore her hair in cornrows mostly lately, keeping it back off her face and from getting tangled being outside in the wind and weather, doing God-knew-what-might-come-up with Donovan. Now she gathered the long, black braids that fell to her shoulder blades into a bunch and tied them together. Then she got out of the truck.

She was drenched within seconds.

Dammit.

She really shouldn't fall for a guy who was the reason that over the past few months she'd ended up with a favorite outfit stained with something-she-didn't-want-to-talk-about, an infected cut on her hand, and a lost shoe. Not lost in the sense that it was ruined and couldn't be cleaned or repaired. It was just lost. Never to be found.

All things considered, she really shouldn't fall for Donovan Foster.

The fact that he was outgoing, and charming, and that the crazy risks he took were to save wounded and threatened wildlife didn't help though.

The hard muscles, contagious smile, deep green eyes, quick sense of humor, and hard, rippling, bunching, often-naked muscles—had she mentioned those?—also didn't help.

Needless to say, she was now wearing much more practical clothes and footwear when she hung out with him. And gloves. Tough, no-way-am-I-bleeding-after-this work gloves.
But right now she wanted those hard, sun-bronzed muscles intact and inside where they'd be safe. Along with the rest of him, of course.

She marched across the thirty feet that separated them. Though the effect was definitely less impressive because she had to lean into the wind.

She stopped beside where he was lying. He was completely still, his eyes shut, but she knew he wasn't dead. Or she was pretty sure. He'd apparently texted Zander, the town cop, just twenty minutes ago with his location.

Naomi planted her hands on her hips. "What in God's name do you think you're doing?"

He opened one eye, then lifted a hand to block the rain.

"Get off the ground, Donovan."

She had to raise her voice to be heard over the rain and wind. But that was okay. She was mad and more than a little concerned. This man needed to get his fine ass in his truck and head back to town now. He wasn't stupid or crazy, but he definitely didn't take care of himself and he took far too many risks and that bothered her. A lot.

Because, whether she should or not, she had fallen for him.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. I love the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series (try saying that 5 times fast).This series is so much fun with a large extended family, a growing menagerie of wild animals, and a sweetly hot romance set in the Louisiana Bayou. Erin really makes the bayou come alive with the sights, smells, and tastes of the area.In Sealed With a Kiss, Naomi and Donovan have amazing chemistry between them. From riding out a hurricane together, to rescuing wildlife and filming for a potential new reality tv show these 2 find each other impossible to resist. And I found it impossible to not fall in love with their story.While this could be read as a stand-alone I think it’s best read as part of the series. I really appreciated the who’s who glossary in this book to help me keep everyone’s connections straight. With opposites attract and some fake dating plus some animal rescues and animal conservation thrown in, there’s a lot for romance readers to love.If you haven’t already, I recommend picking up this series. Would pair wonderfully with some crawfish and a hurricane drink.

    What I love most about Erin Nicholas’ books is the stories always, always grab me from the first page and keep me enthralled until the last page. The characters and the stories are fun but also meaningful. This story is the perfect mix of sweet, steamy, hilarious, and swoony with just a small amount of angst. Naomi and Donovan have been secondary characters since the beginning of the series but in this book they get the spotlight. Naomi starred on a tv sitcom as a child but has intentionally lived a quiet private life since then. Donovan is a wildlife rehabilitation expert and lives a larger than life watch the film on the internet kind of existence. While Naomi lives in Autre, this tiny Louisiana town, surrounded by friends and family, Donovan is only staying temporarily while visiting his brother, Griffin. Naomi and Griffin’s chemistry has always been off the charts but their friendship and comfort with each other has slowly solidified in the seven months Donovan has been in Autre. Their feelings and the physical attraction come to a head in the midst of a hurricane but that’s the easy part - figuring out how to mesh two very different lifestyles is a little bit harder. This beautifully crafted love story has plenty of hilarity, steamy scenes, sweet moments, family togetherness, drama, swoons, crazy bayou antics, animal rescues, and small town nosy goodness. Expect to love Naomi and Donovan and feel all the feels with them.

    There are many booķ worlds I’d love to visit, and even live in, but there is only one my heart yearņs for, and it's Autre Louisiana and the amazing Landry family. Each new booķ feels like coming home and catching up with people I’ve desperately missed since I saw them last. And then there's this booķ. With its mention of my home state, a minor character who shares my first name, and the rescųe of a mama raccoon and her three babies (my absofave animals), well it's like I was an actual part of this story rather than a casual observer.

    Once again Nıcholas delivers an extraordinary read full of hilarious hijinks, sm’exy loving, and loąds of heart, and this time a Cajun sweetheart finds her forever with a ląrger than life wıldlife rescuer. They may be opposites in a lot of ways, but Naomi and Donovan are a perfect match in all the ways that matter.

    One of the things I love so much about each new romance from this talented wordsmith is how these characters learn and grow and find missing pıeces they weren’t even looking for. Naomi learns a few things about herself and her capacity for love, and Donovan finds the family and unconditional love he's never had but always loņged for. Their road to ever after isn’t always easy – it starts with a hurricane, after all – but it's humorous, heartfelt, and so rewarding.

    If you haven’t met this overbearing, under foot, amazing family with hearts bigger than the bayou, you’re missing out on some of the very best romcom gold. I love the Landrys so much I’m fixin’ to forge my own adoption certificate so I can be part of this messy, rambunctious, inviting family. Donovan and Naomi are attracted to each other from the start; however, Naomi doesn’t want to be in the spotlight that Donovan seems at home in. She prefers the simpler, quieter life… now.

    Donovan’s a veterinarian who loves being the guy who rescues animals! Big, small, exotic, or pets, he wants all of them to be safe. He had his own Youtube channel with his daring exploits and is ready to be on camera and educating the masses about animal rescue and rehabilitation. Can these two find a common ground? I enjoyed the build from friends to lovers, and even though I wanted to each of them a smack as they were feeling out the tv show, they showed how they wanted the best for each other.

    As I said this book has it all, you’ll love the family, friends, and neighbors of the Landry clan. If you’re not related, wait 10 minutes, and you will be! I laughed everything Dax opened his mouth, shook my head at the banter back and forth of the siblings and cousins, and sighed every time Donovan and Naomi were alone together. Another hit for Erin Nicholas!!! I received an ARC of this book for an honest review!

    You’ve gotta love a trip to the Bayou and the chance to catch up with those Autre boys and girls……

    Sealed with a Kiss was another fantastic read in what is a definite favourite Erin Nicholas series of mine and I can’t wait for more!!!!

    Donovan and Naomi were fabulous together - but then I think that about all of the couples that EN introduces us to!!

    Donovan was deep, had a sad history and was more than the high voltage, danger seeking, attention loving animal expert folk thought him to be from his tv show. I loved how visiting Griffin turned from a quick stay to an unknown timescale and the sense of family and belonging he found while there…. Mind you, the sense of ‘home’ of sorts could have had more to do with the lovely lady who had snared his attention…..

    Naomi LeClaire loved the quiet life, taking care of friends and those she loved, doing her thing and laying low - until Donovan Foster found his way into her circle and grabbed her attention. I loved that she already knew about him and what he did but that it didn’t stop her from looking out for him and from considering the possibility of living life out of her self built box.

    This pair were exactly what the other needed. I adored the fact that the Landry’s and their significant others saw what Donovan or Naomi thought they were keeping quiet and that they, in the main, let them work things out for themselves.. especially when keeping things quiet isn’t always their way.

    Loved catching up with the Landry guys and gals and keeping an eye on another potential couple…. That’s gotta work out or I’ll be well bummed!!!

    Another recommended read from Erin Nicholas and I can’t wait for what’s coming next.

    Another fantastic boys of the bayou gone wild book, love the series and can’t wait for the next one. Great interactions with the other characters so many laughs and I loved the visit from the hot cakes series characters too.
    Plus some hot stuff;-)
