About the authors
I started my professional journey as an Executive in the sales department of a UK based organization. Since then I have changed over and handled many roles and responsibilities in the Marketing, Sales & Customer Service departments across industries. I finally shifted over to Advertising and spent a good 11 years in the same. It was during the later years of my career that I started to feel suffocated, doing the same sh**, day in and day out. I started to feel as if I was meant to do something more in life, and it was this feeling that forced me to call it quits and resign from my then position of Vice President of a multinational Advertising firm.
I finally had my calling in writing. So, I took out my laptop and simply started to punch the keys on a blank word processor page. Since then, my laptop has been my closest friend, the one I spend most of my time with. In fact, sometimes I wonder if my wife can sue me for cheating on her with my laptop. No seriously, can she? Yeah, well! Que sera sera. :/

- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2018Having worked as a technical writer for many years (which is similar to ghostwriting but doesn't include authoring whole books for someone else), I was intrigued what this experienced ghostwriter would have to say about the subject. I found the information both easy to understand and important, especially because there's a short and helpful summary at the end of the booklet. What came as a pleasant surprise was the humor and sometimes sarcasm mixed in with the advice and insights into the author's own experiences.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2018I knew absolutely nothing about 'ghostwriting' when I purchased this little book. For a fraction of the price of a small coffee, I now know everything I need to know. Interesting topic. Makes you wonder which celebrities used ghostwriters, and which ones did the hard work themselves.
Well done.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2018Do you ever wonder that if the so-called ‘ghost writers’ actually exist?
Do they really write for the famous authors, celebrities or is it just another of those fictional stories?
Now you know the truth. They exist and Deep here has demystified all the nitty-gritty of ghost writing for you. He has taken the art of ghostwriting and its associated pressures, trials and rewards and laid them bare. Anyone who has heard that many famous, much loved authors have taken the services of ghostwriters will now know how they work.
If you ever wanted to know how to get into this field, how to find clients, what the process is and how not to be fleeced – this is the book for you. The author is an established ghostwriter and has explained in great detail how the entire process works out.
He lists the positive as well as the negative sides ensuring that you make an informed decision. If you year limelight and accolades for your writing then obviously Ghostwriting is not for you. This is an art where your talent is hidden but your craft is strong.
Not just this booklet but I suggest that all aspiring writers read all the books in this series. A perfect starting point for getting into the art and science ghostwriting.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2018This book is simply awesome. I was always curious to know about the world of ghostwriting. It’s so interesting. I never knows that there are so many elements that weaves this world. I have formed a new found respect for all ghostwriters. Like a soldier standing behind an author who can’t write or have too many stories to tell. You will find how to become a ghostwriter too in this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2019The author has done justice to the topic by explaining the pros and the cons and also the places one can go about advertising if you wanna pursue this career. The Red Flags and the Green Flag toward the end was like a checklist for a novice like me to keep track of! Highly recommended book for those who want to Ghostwrite.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don’t waste your money
This is more a poorly written pamphlet than a useful book.
Save your money just Google ‘what does a ghostwriter do?’
This is barely a 10-minute read of generic ramblings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really helpful and must read
The Secrets of Ghostwriting is the third book of TBC Toolkit series and deals with ghostwriting and is written by none other than D R Downer who is nicknamed as a ghost himself...
Having read a couple of his works, I loved his story writing style. But after reading this toolkit I really loved his straightforward writing style because he prefers calling a spade a spade.
So what is ghostwriting? Writing by ghosts or for ghosts? Definitely, the answer is No for both. So if you wanna understand what is ghostwriting, why it is called so, one must buy and read this toolkit which will really help you clearly understand each and every aspect of ghostwriting.
Plus D R Downer's simple and straightforward writing style makes The Secrets of Ghostwriting easy to understand. So if you want to make ghostwriting as your career and wanna know in detail about the nitty-gritty of this business, this toolkit is a must read for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must have for aspiring writers
The secrets of ghostwriting by D.R.DOWNER
This toolkit is about all the secrets of writing world which often is not revealed to the reading community. The toolkit includes a brief explanation to - what, how, do's and dont's of the GHOST writing world. Not everyone is a born writer or we can say, not everyone knows the magic of word composition, this is what this toolkit is all about.
You are lucky to have few (RED and GREEN FLAGS) points given by the person in the field himself. Anyone willing to enter this bad world must at least consider this toolkit as a small note from the person himself, who has spent a decade in the publishing house and other related works

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Insights about Ghostwriting
The subject of Ghostwriting is a quite intriguing for many of us. So, here’s the book that aims at answering all your possible questions on the subject. The author D.R. Downer, who himself is an experienced ghostwriter (and well that’s his pseudonym) has attempted to answer all the possible queries, including do’s and don’ts that one can think of.
Ghostwriting is a sad but prevalent fact in the writing industry. In the book, the author has referred to Ghost-writing to surrogacy and a ghost-writer to surrogate mother. This is with reference to the emotions attached to one’s writing.
He has thoughtfully jotted down the why’s and how’s of the ghostwriting; the nitty-gritties and industry insights as well. If you have ever considered ghostwriting as a career option, this is the book you need to flip through.
This is a 20-minuter and a short read. No harm in knowing about the insider details of the industry that gives you your world of dreams.
