I liked this book alot. It kept my interest and I read it in a couple of days. However, I felt like the initial plot got lost. I felt like the author had to tie up many loose ends at the end and he didn't completely deliver. Maybe there will be a next book?

This had all the good makings of a story. Romance, near death, and lots of violence. Moments that made you laugh and others just wondering why or how. I love how it ended on a cliff hanger and told you who the killer is. I’m so ready to know what happens next.

Bridgett and Owen love each other very much but life has a knack for getting in the way. That they have grown apart isn't a unique reality, for a lot of people. But Owen gets an opportunity to make a change - a radical change in their lives. Move to another state and make a complete lifestyle change for the both of them. But how will this help? It doesn't, at first. It takes getting nearly killed, more than once. And the chance to return to the profession she loves gives her what she needs to make the adjustments needed to fight for her marriage and live the life she wants and needs. But be not so sure this is just some romance novel because if you do you'll be wrong, very, very wrong!

Initially I didn’t like the characters. Considered giving up after a few chapters, as I don’t waste my time finishing unsatisfying books. But I came back and got hooked. The characters grew and changed and became quite compelling. The plot more intriguing. I didn’t want it to end. So glad I gave it a second chance!

A serial killer is on the loose in a quiet costal town, which causes trouble for a struggling couple trying to get past mistakes and heartache. Even worse, the killer sets his sights on Jett. As she and her husband try to make a new life, it's complicated by their ability to forgive, grow, and communicate. The body count begins to mount around Jett and Drew, so she puts her detective skills to work, and comes dangerously close to making the ultimate sacrifice.

I can see the possibility of another book making this a series because it leaves you with questions that you want to know the answer to and I can't wait to read it!

Ray Wenck's "A Second Chance at Death" is a well-written, exciting tale sure to entertain.

Former police officer Bridget convinces her chef husband Drew to leave Ohio and go east to Maine in an effort to start a new life and hopefully repair their crumbling marriage. Once there, they're soon caught up in a local murder and Bridget, ever the officer, cannot deny her calling and assists the local police in finding the killer.

As the story progresses, it's easy to get wrapped up in the believable world created by Ray Wenck. The characters feel lively and real. The town of Lubec, Maine seems so real it's as though the reader is walking amongst its streets. I could smell the sea breeze and felt like I was at the restaurant, seated for a delicious meal.

The twists and turns will keep you flipping the page until you find out how it all turns out. If you're a fan of mysteries and thrillers, you have to try this novel!
