The Second Time Around: A Small Town Second Chance Romance (Hope Valley Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 2,224 ratings

Tessa Day had clung to the notion of a once-in-a-lifetime love for as long as she could remember. Then one chance encounter led her to the man of her dreams. After a whirlwind romance that could only be described as something out of a fairytale, she gave her heart to her other half, only to have him throw it back like it meant nothing.

Bryce Dixon was known as the care-free funny guy with a heart of gold. But it was all a façade. For more than ten years, he’d been holding on to guilt that was slowly eating him alive. He blamed himself for things in his past, and as punishment for his sins, he walked away from the only woman he’d ever loved.

But when Tessa shows up in Hope Valley, Bryce begins to think that maybe he’s been given a second chance. However, when danger comes calling, he soon discovers he’s in for the fight of his life. Not only does he have to protect the woman who holds his heart, but he also has to convince her that he can get things right the second time around.

Love Bryce and Tessa!❤️
Like I always say when reviewing Jessica Prince’s bookS, I love her books. This is a beautiful second chance story and one of my favorite trope, small town romance. Second Time Around is the 6th book in The Hope Valley series and I highly recommend this series. It’s one if my favorites. Tessa and Bryce met in Las Vegas 10 years before and married each other. But with Brice in the military and after something something tragically and heartbreaking happened they haven’t spoken since. But now Brice wants his wife back and will do everything to get her back. Love this book and the beautiful storyline. If you love protective Alpha males, small town romance and second chance romance then this book is for you. My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ STARS!

I’m usually not a huge fan of second chance romance, but this might be my new favorite in that trope. It was fast paced and well written. There was just enough angst to make the second chance believable but Ms. Prince didn’t draw Bryce and Tessa’s reunion out.

Bryce and Tessa had a whirlwind week in Vegas before Bryce’s last deployment with the Navy a decade ago. Their relationship ended when he ghosted Tessa, thinking he was too broken to be good enough for her. Ten years later, Tessa took a job with the Hope House and ran into her estranged husband. He was just one of many people in her life that made her feel like she wasn’t good enough, but Bryce had his work cut out for him if he was going to get her back.

I loved how determined Bryce was to earn Tessa’s trust back. The love between them never died and he was ready to give her everything he promised ten years ago. I loved the addition of his family and how supportive they were of Bryce and Tessa. They fit right in to the community of Hope Valley.

I liked that the third act conflict was suspense. Tessa and Bryce had already been through so much, it seemed fitting that the conflict took place outside their relationship.

This book was a great addition to the Hope Valley series. It was a book I found myself unable to put down. I loved how it was incorporated into the series with all the old favorites and a few new characters.

Second Time Around was a wonderful second chance love story between Bryce Dixon and Tessa Day. These two met in Las Vegas ten years prior where they connect immediately and spend an amazing week together. When Bryce continued on his six month stint in Afghanistan, they tried to stay in touch but after a few short months Tessa received a letter from Bryce saying he could not do this anymore. My heart broke along with Tessa, but she was strong and resilient and did the best she could to move on.

It is now the present day and by a twist of fate Tessa ends up in Hope Valley, exactly where Bryce has been since he left the military. We’ve seen Bryce in previous books in this series and he was always the happy go lucky guy, but he is hiding so much pain and guilt. This is what caused him to break Tessa’s heart in the first place, but now that she is in Hope Valley and after a talking to by his friends and family, he realizes he can not let her go again. Unfortunately Tessa has been hurt in the past and then deserted by the love of her life, she is not willing to go through the pain again. But Bryce is determined to get his second chance.

Overall I did really enjoy this book, the only issue I had was the ten year span, Bryce just left her hanging and if she never relocated to Hope Valley things would still remain unresolved for Tessa. But to see how hard Bryce fought for her made it all worth it. Another great addition to an awesome series!

I was always kinda curious about Bryce. From the first book when he was described as this drop dead gorgeous flirt and pissed off Lincoln; I was obsessed. Getting more of his story and getting to know Tessa made a lot of pieces fall into place. I absolutely loved this book. Their story although heartbreaking was so beautiful. Perfectly Imperfect was such a great description. Following along through the twists and turns of their story made it impossible to put the book down. Jessica Prince has created a world I am obsessed with and this book definitely didn’t disappoint!

I’ve been on this Hope Valley journey since the first book, each time I think this my favourite when I finish but honestly they are all fantastic reads.

Strong characters that are relatable and stories that suck you. Must reads.

When Bryce first spotted Tessa he knew subconsciously she was his forever, a whirlwind romance, a Vegas wedding and the promise of forever.

But life has a way throwing demons at you and for Bryce a navy seal it’s war and the ramifications of what happened on his last deployment. He lost friends good men who served along side him and having survived he feels the guilt. Why should he get his happily ever after when his friends didn’t. The hardest thing he did was walk away from her.

Tessa knows of loss. Losing her parents at a tender age she went from a loving and safe home to the foster system. She survived and she made something of herself. A social worker, she’s ready to give back. Meeting the sexy seal in Vegas wasn’t part of those plans but she’s not going to second guess this. Love only comes around so often and she’s going to jump in. What she didn’t expect was her husband to ghost her. No contact, no explanation. It’s like there whirlwind romance didn’t happen.

Ten years have gone. Tessas stronger now and a new opportunity to work at Hope House and the foster kids there she jumps on it. Packing up her life in Texas and hoping for a new life.

What neither of them expected was to run into each other again here in Hope Valley.

Get ready for a second chance romance that’s emotional and just so addictive. Jessica really pulls the heartstrings with this latest story.

No cheating, minimal drama and a steam factor that’ll have you blushing.

The book is good. If I would’ve read it as a stand alone I probably would’ve loved it more. But I just can’t get over this Bryce being the same Bryce that was wanting to fight for Eden in the first book. Like he was married and supposedly always missing the love of his life, but then really wanting to date Eden. Idk I just can’t . I feel like he only wanted Tessa again bc he saw her and would’ve never done anything otherwise. But that’s just my personal opinion. The book was good if I take that judgement out. I love charity and Bryce’s family. I love their relationship in the end I just wish he wouldn’t have been running around so much on her I guess even if he thought he didn’t deserve her .. he’s stupid to think she deserved that after all she went through

Wow I was not expecting that. Like all the previous books this book entraps you from the start. Bryce made a mistake 10 yrs ago would he be able to fix it the second time around or is it too late. Will Tessa forgive him ? Read on to find out. I loved seeing more of the previous characters specially Rory and loved seeing what happened with hope home and the foster kids.
Another emotional book that's beautifully written and sucks you in to these heroes world.

Great story and great characters, I’ve loved Bryce from the first time he was introduced in Linc’s book, and I love him even more now. Tessa was perfect for him and I am glad they managed to work through their problems to get a well deserved HEA.

Wonder whether Bryce’s siblings will get their own stories, I mean who doesn’t want more of men like Bryce 🤷‍♀️🤞
