Secrets & Badges (Takoda Outreach Center Book 3) Kindle Edition
Welcome to Takoda Outreach Center. Prepare yourself for open hearts, a full belly, and all the love you can handle.
How did my life get so complicated?
Starting a food pantry, my heart’s deepest desire, was finally happening. . Fate has funny timing. With my dream coming true, I find myself responsible for two homeless boys with deep secrets and their sassy “guardian” who isn’t talking either.
That would be enough to handle without my weekly hook-up, Officer Marcus LeBleu, sniffing around. Does he need to be hot and perfect? Volunteering his time and services is great, but again…timing.
Everyone adores him, conspiring against me to nudge us together. But only I know the danger I face if he finds out about my secret roommates. The one thing I know for sure is these kids need to be mine—safe, warm, and fed. Trusting Marcus is a risk, jeopardizing his career and my heart if the secrets come out. Not taking the chance on him might be the real mistake though.
This third book in the Takoda Outreach Center features one snarky teenager who will steal your heart, a little boy who’s excited to have a best friend, and a dorky forklift operator. In Sammi’s low-angst, super-sweet world, hugs are freely given and happily-ever-afters are guaranteed. Possible trigger for references to off-page sexual abuse of a minor.

About the author

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.
These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022Fisher and Marcus met each other months before he showed up at Jasper's brother's graduation. From the moment they met Fisher and Marcus had an attraction to each other. Marcus didn't let Fisher's hostility towards him stop him from possibly getting to know this man and that meeting turned into so much more. Their first meeting turned into weekly ones but before they could talk about it becoming more Fisher ended things. Being the hardest thing he's ever done Fisher felt he had to stop seeing Marcus because of the family he inherited, Ms. Emma and two homeless boys. With Marcus being a cop he didn't want to put him into a position to choose and was afraid Ms. Emma would take the boys and run. But,once Marcus intervened at the graduation and met the family all bets were off he decided at that moment to get his man back. That's exactly what he did and the family that came with him. Great Read, Great Couple and Family!!😍
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2023I have been enjoying all the interconnected Takoda books and it was nice to have Fisher and Marcus’s story.
What I especially love is the found family element. Sometimes in life those found are the best! Will continue on with the series to get more stories about people of Takoda outreach center.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2021Book three in the series is low angst and full of sweet moments. It features Fisher wanting to get the food pantry up and running while he has taken two kids and their guardian into his home. All the while he is seeing Marcus, A cop he doesn't want looking to closely at his life.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2022I love the theme - everyone is at risk from having it all to having nothing. The story of an incredible friendship that evolved to a family by choice. Their mission to give back to their community. To treat people coming into the soup kitchen like valued humans "guest" and to know them and help them succeed. Fisher is the chief at the soup kitchen and does home deliveries and he just opened his home up to this family. Officer Marcus has tried to get Fisher to keep him only to have Fisher push him away and he doesn't understand. The journey, discover of this story is beautiful. Warning child abuse - so trigger warning. This is a story that reminds people what they have an the gift of kindness helps those you share it with but mostly your soul. MM Romance with a family love. More books please stop over @my2centsbooklover!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2023I love hearing Fisher’s back story and it makes his dedication make so much sense. Also, we get to learn more about Miss Emma and her boys. Fisher meets Marcus at what seems to be bad timing. Marcus turns out to really be one of the good guys and it is wonderful to see their lives merge.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2022This story gave me all the feels. I have loved this entire series. I’m so glad I’ve been able to read them. The childhood these three have endured in this book was terrible but they’re getting their happy ending. I can’t wait to continue this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow so beautiful, real powerful read.
Read the first two they were great but this one was so much more powerful and from the start it was good.
The opening of this story was brilliant. It was really like seeing it from a little kids view, it blew me away.
Fisher and Marcus really complimented each other beautifully and you really feel there love for each other.
Fisher made a great dad and Marcus was the protector. Archie and PJ’s story was so sad, but so glad they found family. And beautiful Miss Emma was so strong and brave, wished I had her for a grandma.
A truly emotional, feel good story rolled into one. Just loved it.
The cover is soo hot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secrets & Badges
This one tugged on the heart strings. It was great to see Fisher’s HEA but there were moments of sadness and trauma to read. Onto Book 4.

4.0 out of 5 stars friends and found family for the win
Smiling so long my cheeks are starting to stiffen. Love these characters and story. My heartstrings were tugged hard and warmed by turns. Emotional and heartwarming. What more can you need than a family of the heart. Engaging read.
