Areneae aka Kennedy is well she isn't naïve but she is a little not really worldly. She has been through so much in her life . Being yanked away from her family and given a new identity . At the beginning you just want to wrap her up in a warm blanket and keep her safe . But you see her start to grow and get sassy with Sterling . Just like all her characters she is stronger then she then she lets on . I truly like theses characters . They are great one on one but together they will be unstoppable
This is the first book in a brand new series for this author . She really can write dark romance . I was hooked by the end of chapter one . Besides a smoldering sexy couple . There is mystery and intrigue as we piece together their history . I couldn't put it down , I had tears in my eyes a few times and had to fan myself a lot of the time . I must say I love Aleatha's dark side , she puts the alpha in men . I truly enjoyed this first book in the new series . Yes it did end in a cliff hanger but that's ok I know she won't keep us waiting too long . So if you want a sexy new series that will keep you hanging on every word .

She has built up a fulfilling life since fleeing Chicago, and she is prepared to stand up for herself to continue holding onto that life as much as possible. Ah, Sterling. He was undoubtedly sexy AF, but the jury is still out on his personality and any redeeming qualities. He is the epitome of secretive, and dangerous, and he holds his cards VERY close to his chest. While he is definitely hot in bed.... and out of it... I need more of his hard to love storyline to *ahem* satisy me... When Kennedy's life is thrown into a world of the unknown and the dangers that she never fathomed existed, she is up against a mysterious past where the players know more about her than she ever has. This book was completely intriguing, with an imbalance of power that Araneae has yet to fully realize, I am impatiently waiting for Lies, book two to be released... I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
