As seems to be the norm, these books need another run by a competent copy editor. That said, I LOVE THEM! Strong, relevant, current themes. Engaging, interesting characters who grow and change and learn... just like "real" people. Complex and unique story lines. Oh, I am so hating that I read through the first three books so rapidly, and now I must wait for the next!

This book had me reeling. I felt all the emotions going through the pages of this book. It was an amazing read and honestly brought out so many questions on how I’d feel about this situation myself. As an immune suppression patient I always consider how my body would react to medications and vaccines. So it’s amazing to me how difficult it is for people in Meghan’s world. How would I feel in their shoes!

Once again I find myself hoping for Davin and Meghan. And then the end…. Oh my god!!! I won’t give it away, but I’m stunned!

“When one door closes, find another. And what if there isn't another door? Then you try a window. And what if there's not a window? Then you find a sledgehammer and make a window. Life isn't supposed to be easy. Generally speaking, the harder something is the more rewarding the results will be.” -C.C. Hunter

This quote reminds me so much of Meghan.
My stomach is twisted in knots and my heart hurts for her but at the same time I’m excited and cheering her on. She’s such a great character. I love that no matter how hard she gets knocked down she gets back up and works harder to find a way to make things happen.
I’m a little irritated and disappointed with Davin right now but there’s still hope for him yet.
I can’t wait to find out what the next book has in store for Meghan and her loved ones.

*I own the audiobook but I read along through KU.

This series took forever to get the relief from abuse and the freedom they deserved. I understand the lengthy process but I emotionally just about couldn't take it. Now, will there be a cure...will they ever be together.... Stay tuned...

This is the third book in a four-book series. This book finds Meghan living with the choice she made in book 2, believing that she did the right thing to keep her friends safe, even though she misses them terribly. When she finds out things may not be kosher at the reservation, she risks everything to make sure the world knows what Davin and the others are going through. Since the fourth book didn't come out for a month after I read the first two, I made myself wait three weeks to read this one, and then I was STILL mad I had to wait for book four.
The ending ripped my guts out!

It seems it’s more repetitions than the second book? I don’t know why repeat all the characters what they look like considering we already know by book 1 or go through government to speeches to public approving Kazzies again like book 2. It just seems maybe cut half of the chuck of the story would be best. This is a push and pull kind of read for me. No matter what even if the story dragged along, The author manage to pull me back in. I dig the ending and still interested to read the final book of the series.

This series was so great, I literally read it straight through, only sleeping when my eyes could no longer remain open and my kindle fell to my chest. I almost cried knowing I have a few months more before I can read the Next book. Although it would only follow the tears I spilled reading the last chapters in Section 12.
I would love to see some novellas on some of the other Kazzie's, to hear about their strains, see glimpses into their lives. I would also love to see a list of all the strains and corresponding 'side effects'.
Thank you Krista for sharing this adventure with the world, your writing is engaging and fairly well edited!

Well I did not really like it and it was almost boring. I started to really dislike Davin because it felt like that he just lead her on. It was kinda proven at the end. I had a few tears roll down my cheek but I wasn't that amazed by that book

5.0 out of 5 stars Unlike most pandemic stories
Reviewed in Australia on November 16, 2019
One of the best parts of this book is that it’s not like other pandemic stories. There’s a breakdown in society, as to be expected, but instead this focuses on what comes after. And what happens when some survivors are still infected, even if the rest of the world has been made safe from them. It’s a really interesting series. And although all the dwelling on various sources of angst does get a bit annoying sometimes, it is well worth reading.
