About the Author

Hailing from the Great Lakes region of the United States, I started writing to kill the boredom of my daily lunch hour. Fascinated by Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror since an early age, I use early influences such as Zelazny, Feist, Eddings, Goodkind, Star Wars and Star Trek to fashion my stories. I also believe in Bigfoot and Space Men, so that should tell you where I'm coming from. I find humor in many parts of life, both dark and not, and try to sprinkle these elements into my writing. Although I take my writing very serious, I try not to be too serious about what I write. My readers should be engaged, remain interested and have fun all at the same time. I hope you enjoy what I've written, as I have enjoyed the process of writing. Best Wishes, Mike

Twas fun meeting Rosa, Rusty, et al again for this second installment from Mike Wolff.
    Recommended to lovers of Pratchett.

This book was a fun read, highly entertaining, and cool. My eleven-year-old and I loved it. He thought the story with its Redcaps and Elves and Trolls was a blast and I really liked the story line that kept me engaged and interested. We read out loud before bedtime and there are some books that read better than others and this one was a treat.

This book starts after the first: Guiding Council of Myths and Urban Legends and while you don't have to read the first to understand and enjoy the second, you should.

There is violence in this, but PG-13 violence, nothing that made me hesitate to read it to my son.

I highly recommend it as a great, rip-roaring read.

Okay, I read the first book and loved it. When I finally busted this book open, I simply could not put it down. I blew through this book in a few days and that isn't something I normally do. Already having a connection with the characters after reading the first book, I ended up way more attached to the book than I planned. Mr. Wolff furthered the story in a great way and I was extremely impressed. If you're a fan of fantasy and have a good sense of humor, then this book is for you. I must recommend that you read the first book in the series before reading this, but I'm not entirely sure you'd be lost if you picked this book up first. He does a great job of re-familiarizing you with the characters. You would, however, enjoy seeing the characters get to where they are in this book by reading book one. The character growth in this book was really well done as well. The action scenes were smoothly composed and though there were many characters at play, I was never confused as to what was going on or who was doing what. I genuinely cared for the characters - worrying if they were in peril. I don't think I'll ever see urban myths and legends the same again - especially bigfoot and vampires. I only have one complaint: Where is book three!?! I am very eager to see this story continued and hope that the author chooses to do so at some point. Sign me up! And buy this book! You won't regret it.

Okay, an admission: I bought this book by mistake! I intended to buy the first in the series, but had a blonde moment and got the wrong one - but guess what? It didn't matter! It's a fab read on a standalone basis and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mike Wolff is skilled at his craft and the story lines weave together seamlessly leading us to a conclusion that makes you smile. (Obviously, I'm not going to tell you the ending - you need to buy it and read it and discover it yourself!) Even though I was not familiar with the characters, I caught on immediately, so if you're like me, and buy it in the wrong order, it won't spoil the read. The different myths and legends are crafted in a manner that is both familiar (ie what you'd have in your own head when you think of them), yet brings the author's own imagination forwards and he is clever enough to implant his ideas over your own and make you smile as he does so. Children will love it - there's enough silliness to engage both them and the adults reading it with them. A cracking good read - I'll be buying more of Mike's work!
