Review

I enjoyed this lovely Regency romance that captivated me immediately and kept me entertained and intrigued until I read the last word.

As I have come to expect, Ms. Pearson's characters as engaging and real, They pull the reader into the story with their great dialog that promotes the flow of the plot that false rumors by society are corrected and true love will develop. You don't want to miss this book.

What an excellent love story. A wonderful story of how far Elias went to to right a wrong he committed against Anna. I highly recommend it.

My favorite line from the book is when Lady Anna says to Lord Comerfield, "There is nothing within that heart save for yourself."

I love this author! I have read all her books and she never fails to give us romance, humor, and plenty of drama! Her stories are original and wonderful to read. I highly recommend this book and this author!

She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her. She loves a happy ever after! Lady Anna and Lady Selina are in London
for the Season. Their mother is deceased.
Therefore their father, the Duke of Landon
has arranged help to guide and chaperone
his daughters. Lady Hayward who is a
widow and mother of three sons exchanges
duties with the girls for the Duke’s guidance
in estate running with her sons.
Elias the Lord of Comerfield is a flirt and
has no intention of looking for a lady to
marry. He just wants to be free from any
    form of commitment.
While at a ball, Elias has a drink too many.
He is walking down a dark hall when Lady
Anna is coming from the retiring room.
He proceeds to grab her. Then he realizes
his mistake. She is not the loose lady who
gave his flirting encouragement at the
    dining table.
Now Lady Anna becomes the talk of the ton.
She gets ignored and her reputation is marred.
Now marriage between the two will be expected.
But Elias promises to restore her reputation so
    he can avoid marriage.
Can Elias due as he promises? Will Lady Anna’s
position in the society of the ton be restored?
What will happen between Elias and Lady Anna?
I enjoyed reading this story of Lady Anna’s
predicament. With the apt description provided
by the author I felt that I was present with Lady
Anna. I was able to feel her embarrassment, her
reluctance to go out in public and things that
    made her happy.
The characters were well written, colorful and
relatable. It was an eye opener as to some of
    the happenings in the ton.
This is book # 2 in the London House series.
It can be read as a stand alone.
I volunteered to read Selfish Heart. Thanks to
the author via Booksprout for the opportunity.
My opinion is voluntary and my own.

Anna and her twin were present last season for their come out. Rebecca married a wonderful man and both seemed very happy. Now its her turn. She's the more outgoing of the pair, easily conversing and adding a happiness to each occasion. But when she's introduced to two gentlemen, one very forward lord has no chance. Add to it that his behavior becomes more and more repulsive. When she faces a problem of her own, who will defend her good name?
Wonderful story with a great ending! After a little frustration, its good to find some joy.

Sometimes we are told to change our temperament, but we are unaware of what we need to change or how to change it!

That is exactly Elias' problem. Until~~~in a drunken stupor he compromises an innocent debutant! Understanding what his best friend was trying to tell him! But how to change is his challenge, knowing that Lady Anna is ruined in the society ton and only he can redeem her, he must change. Can he? Is it temporary or something more?

Read this lovely, well written book to find. Rose Pearson is a "clean" author even a teenager can read her books! Enjoy her Landon House series; you won't regret it!

The sweet story of Lord Comerfield and Lady Anna is worth this second reading. It emphasizes the strict rules society had that dictated nearly every move a lady made. When caught quite innocently (on Lady Anna's part) they must make decisions that will affect their lives. This changes not just the course of their lives but the very people they are.

This is another wonderfully written story in what is turning out to be a great series. The plot is full of emotional twists and turns, and the characters are brilliantly crafted, with the strength and determination to overcome their obstacles, and achieve their happiness. This is a great book for anybody who loves clean historical romances, that has a bit of suspense.

It’s rare for me to abandon a book a couple of chapters in, but this was such a plodder, written in such stilted language, that it was a real chore to try to keep going. Zero wit, zero sparkle, just plodding earnestness to the point of utter, utter tedium.
