Serenity (Fortuity Duet Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 174 ratings

I’d lived a privileged life, in the lap of luxury and surrounded by family. It had felt like I was on top of the world...until tragedy struck.

My sense of loss felt bottomless, and I struggled with it every single day. Finding my path back into the light seemed impossible.

But then I met Faith—she was smart, sexy, and out of my league even though she didn’t have a penny to her name. We grew up in different worlds, but somehow we fit perfectly together.

Except neither of us had counted on learning that our connection was more profound than we knew.

Serenity is the conclusion to Dillon & Faith's story, which began in Fortuity.

Serenity is the epic conclusion to Rochelle Paige’s Fortuity Duet. The first novel titled Fortuity is a must read before starting Serenity. This book picks up after the heart stopping reveal in the last pages of Fortuity.

This is a duet so you think you kinda know what to expect going into it’s conclusion novel. You think you’ve had all the shocking twists and turns laid out and now you’ll sit back and coast the emotion of the wrap up. Wrong...very very wrong. Rochelle isn’t done with our heart strings yet guys. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

This book is a stunning emotional journey. This love story is crafted to draw you in and invest you into these characters lives. They aren’t just the H & h anymore. They are Faith and Dillion and their struggles are ours. The story will not disappoint. This isn’t a story about drama, it’s a story about life. It’s about healing our bodies yes but also our spirits. I won’t spoil anything for you. It’s a must read and if you somehow missed Fortuity, get it now you lucky reader. The rest of us had to wait for the conclusion! You can have your cake and read it too!

Safe relationship no OW/OM, heat level is spicy, not gratuitous but sex is on the menu...enjoy!

Kudos to Rochelle Paige for a beautiful unique, awe-inspiring, romantic love story. When I read "Fortuity," I actually cried (I kid you not) and at the end I couldn't wait for Faith and Dillon's story to continue. Well, I just finished "Serenity" and these awe-inspiring characters are back and totally captivating as they bring tears (again), laughs, joy, sorrow, pain, but mostly their love that touches your heart over and over again. The unexpected surprises (were totally unexpected) a which gives me hope for a Book 3 continuing Dillon, Faith, parents (loved Dillon's Mom& Dad) and all their friends (especially Christine and Corey). I recommend both books to all mature readers. Enjoy!.

    **4.5 Stars**

**Disclaimer: You must read the first book, Fortuity, prior to this as that is the beginning of Dillon and Faith's story.**

In this conclusion, we get more of Dillon's POV, which I loved. We see the tragedy that shaped Dillon through his memories, and how meeting and falling in love with Faith has helped him start to heal.

At the end of Fortuity, Faith discovered something she fears could ruin everything she's found, and she isn't sure, not to mention she's scared, how to tell Dillon and his family.

Dillon knows Faith is upset about something, but she isn't letting him in and it's frustrating. He continues to show his love for her, wanting her to be assured of her place in his life. When he admits to thinking about their future, marriage and kids, Faith knows she has to tell him.

When she does, Dillon reacts...badly, but, in his defense, it was a bombshell and she had kept it from him for a week. Knowing he doesn't want to say something he'll regret, he leaves, devastating Faith, and begins a downward spiral to how he was pre-Faith and post-Declan, his twin that passed away five years ago.

As Dillon tries to come to grips with Faith's news, he essentially pushes her away, causing Faith to start her own spiral, and for someone with her history, that could be fatal.

Thankfully, Dillon pulls his head out of his...err, from where it was, and does what he can to fix what he hurt by his actions. Is he still hurt and upset with not only Faith but also his parents? Of course. It's a huge thing they kept from him, but after speaking with his loved ones, and begging Faith to forgive him for essentially abandoning her - something she struggles with because of her past - Dillon is hit yet again with the opposite of all he'd been told. This time though, with Faith by his side, he knows forgiveness won't come as easy because two people he'd thought would never lie to him, and with something so life changing, did, and it's a lot to process.

He realizes, after some serious soul-searching and Faith, the love of his life, that everyone involved was put in a difficult situation and some leeway is much deserved.

Does Faith's revelation change how Dillon feels about her? Will he doubt the truth of their love? What happens when Dillon is essentially in the same situation as Faith? Will he be able to accept it? Or once more return to his previous ways of coping? Can Dillon's relationship with his parents be repaired? Can he and Faith move past this and get the HEA they both deserve?

One-click now and follow along as two people already in love must face obstacles no one should have to and decide if they can overcome them. This book was just...man, the emotions. Rochelle has the ability to make you literally feel the characters' pain, as if you're going through it with them. I was sad to see their story end, but fervently hope there will be more, perhaps books for Corey, Dillon's best friend who seems to be struggling with family issues, and Christine, Faith's friend, who seems to have her own issues. I'd love to know more about them and their struggles while they each find their own HEA. I also wouldn't mind seeing Kyle and Emily, characters from Fortuity, as we got a glimpse of their story and it intrigued me.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**

Wow just wow. The conclusion to this wonderful story lived up to my expectations and more. Rochelle moved me to tears. Not many authors have been able to do that but she’s on the list now.

Emotionally moving and thought provoking, this story was that and more. Life and death are so closely intertwined. Sometimes things are set in motion for a reason. I truly believe that.

She gives you a reason to look at the big picture. The subject matter in this story is one she has dealt with personally and for that I thank her as not only an author but as a person.

Be prepared to have the tissues on hand because you are going to need them.

Oh man did this book make me cry. Absolutely love this book. This author is amazing. I definitely recommend this book.

I fell in love with Dillion and Faith in the first duet. You could see their love for another. It was amazing to watch that. In this book their love for one another was put through the test. She had news for him and he didn’t take it very well. She started doubting his love and trust. He didn’t know how to react to the news and for the fact his parents didn’t tell him the whole truth.

Listening to them tell Dillion what happened to his brother was so heartbreaking. I was crying with them. I could feel his broken heart. The author did amazing job with this book. I knew love and trust can conquer anything and that it did. It was amazing to watch Dillion and Faith move past this tragic and how it made their relationship stronger. The way they stuck to another to take care one another was very heart warming. I absolutely love this book.

Good story but the first book's storyline seemed to move along quicker. I also felt like Dillons story had a little less depth than faiths. There were a few parts that were blatantly meant as tear jerkers. After reading the first story, this one was a bit predictable. Overall though, nice little easy to read romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great conclusion to Faith and Dillon's story

Wow. I enjoyed Fortuity, but I loved Serenity. This book just gave me the feels. Probably because we got to hear more of Dillon's side and his struggles with everything that had happened.
The author certainly threw in a curve ball I didn't see coming, but I loved it. It kept me on my toes so my attention didn't drift.
A great conclusion to Faith and Dillon's story.
