S*x Addict Kindle Edition
For some it’s their dream job; others want the wedding, the 2.5 kids, the white picket fence.
My fantasies are a bit more...depraved.
Dark and sinful, they have destroyed relationships and my livelihood, yet I still submit to them like a slave.
Sex.
For most, it’s a natural expression of love, caring, or lust.
But there are those of us who can’t stop once we’ve had a taste.
Those of us who don’t want to.
And the shame of that never-ending cycle will eat us alive...
My name is Evan James, and I am a sex addict.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2016Wow! This book is packed with a super sexy punch of eroticism, grit, power, greed and the true meaning of a man addicted. A man willing to do just about anything to fulfill his need.
Even James is a sex addict, and not just some horny guy who can’t get enough. He’s 100% a true, real addict with an insatiable appetite that can never quite be satisfied, and he’s lost just about everything because of it. On one of his sex-capades he falls into bed with a hot blonde who not only satisfies his need, but she also revs his overactive brain up for more, and more, and more. Evan doesn’t usually get stuck on one woman ever. He moves along pretty quickly. So when blondie’s memory stays in his mind for longer than desired it unnerves him greatly.
“Was he simply trying to trade in one addiction for another?”
Evan is (or was) a very successful finance guy for a reputable company when his “problem” over took his conscience and caused him to lose it all. So now he’s jobless and hopeless, and the only thing getting him by is sex.
“Oh, baby. I told you you’d never want me to leave once you got inside.”
Reagan Spencer is no sweet little thing, just the opposite actually. She’s strong, independent, and gorgeous and so far she’s the only woman to keep Evan on his toes. Holy crap is this woman something else! I have very few woman characters that I swoon over (yes, I said swoon) but if anyone is worthy it’s Reagan, In my opinion she is the most perfectly well rounded woman one can be. The chemistry is still off the charts and the sexual tension is whoahhhh. It’s obvious that Evan and Reagan have unfinished business, but it’s also pretty obvious that neither is going to make the first move because neither of them do repeats. This makes for some major sexual-tension-flirtatious-banter between the two that was not only cute but laugh out loud funny at times. They are both so stubborn and set in their ways that they can’t see what is right in front of them.
There are A LOT of unanswered questions that I’ve noticed while reading this book, and slowly--bit by bit things become clear, and you will be scratching your head wondering what is going to happen next. Reagan has a secret and Evan definitely has some stuff from his past that hasn’t been completely revealed. You learn some things, and let me tell you I was not expecting what her secret was. It was a great twist to an already intriguing plot, so well thought out and it definitely categorizes this book as an angsty, hot, sexy page turner! This story has so many different dimensions and colors, and the characters just make it come to life.
Let’s talk about sex… Holy crap can these women right the hell out of a sex scene!! Not only was I completely shocked at some of the sexual things happening in this book, but I was equally intrigued and couldn't get enough.. When I say this book is HOT, that's a gross understatement.
Please don't think this book is just an erotic marvel, because it is! But it's SOOOOO Much more than that. There are some parts that will make you swoon and have hearts in your eyes! The romance isn't lost in this story and you will definitely have a smile on your face when your done. This book is a romance lovers dream, packed with hot sexual tension, great build up, steaming hot sex and two very magnetic characters that you won't be able to forget. GO GET IT!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2016At first blush, the idea of a sex addict, like Evan James is in the novel by Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank sounds exiting, daring, dirty and riveting, much like the opening scenes of the book, but, as with any real addict of any kind, it only takes a little scratch below the surface to see the real effects of being an addict.
The cravings and the hunger, the lengths one will go to to satiate the overpowering compulsion, the depths to which one can fall as it takes over their lives, and the things lost along the way. Evan has already lost a lot. His job, and his reputation, even perhaps his career, and surely his physical possessions can't be too far behind if his addiction continues to dominate his life, to say nothing of the self loathing that comes from being unable to exert control over one's own actions when the cravings come back.
Fortunately, there's hope on the horizon, in the form of a job interview, one that will hopefully resurrect his career to the point that he can at least maintain his habit even if not conquer it, but things are never that simple.
The woman who's interviewing him? They've met before.
Truly one of the most original reads I've encountered, this book delves deeply into Evan's particular pathology, which not only grants the reader a few salacious glimpses into the depths of his depravity, but also into the pathology of his own personal demons and his struggle to keep them at bay.
A fascinating study in the differences and overlap between love and sex, fascination and obsession, want and need. Evan's efforts to improve himself quickly spiral out of control until he realizes that he can't save himself all on his own, and he needs help. What he doesn't realize, at least at first, is that those around him all have their own agendas where he's concerned.
Part One of the book is told first person from Evan's POV, Part two, from the POV of Reagan Spencer, the woman he's met before, and finally, part three is told in alternating form between the two.
I have to say that while I found the first two parts to be utterly fantastic, I felt that the third part was, comparatively speaking, slightly less so. Still good, but not as great. Even so I'd still easily rate it as a 4 star read.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2016A story about a sex-addict who seeks for release through random hook-ups and one-night-stands but never seems to fulfill his addiction. His struggle to escape his past and become a man worthy of this woman is what this book is all about. Fantastic storyline which grips your attention from the very beginning and has you hooked till the end... - Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2016These authors are usually one-clicks for me, but it is very deceptive to reissue previously published material under different title/cover, This one was previously released under title, A DESPERATE MAN and I enjoyed. Shortly after releasing the boxed set, it was no longer available. This new reissued version was released and not described as the complete trilogy of the original work. For those of us who buy frequently and are way behind in reading, this is quite misleading. Furthermore, Amazon does not cross-reference old and new titles, so I appreciate writers who are upfront in listing the original title, so as not to mislead previous buyers of the original version. It's a waste of money and very disheartening to buy something one has already read ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot hot hot
Evan and Reagan. Or Rocky and Jen. Whatever their names, they're both looking for no strings nights. Evan trying to get his life straight, but certain he'll fail. Reagan looking for the boy she knew. Sizzling sexual tension; tangled family history and two people finally being honest. Excellent read.

2.0 out of 5 stars The plot is lost!
⚠️Spolier Alert ⚠️
It had the ingredients of a good book and somehow they lost the plot.
Part 1 and part 2 are really good. Part 3 is painful to read. I finished the book in hopes to get answers, yet none came.
Part 1 is very well written. A good dive into an addict mind and leaves the reader feeling heartbroken and as repulsed as the character, Evan. I felt the pain of his addiction and the desperation he was in.
Part 2 is the POV of Reagan. And the reader discovers that she has issues as well. She changed her name at the age of 19. No digital history of her before that. At one scene she speaks of nightmares and the memories of taking pictures of someone in bed. She can’t do relationships. Goes picking up men on weekly basis, doesn’t spend the night and doesn’t do repeats. Men for her are just a mean to an end.
And she goes on a date with Evan, she takes him back to her place for a very steamy night. They didn’t commit to a relationship. They didn’t talk about being exclusive, nothing, just a beautiful date followed by a steamy night.
All that while knowing he has a sex addiction. He told her in painful details what it is for him. She, as his boss, and the CEO of her company, have sent him to therapy for that. And he needs to report to her every Monday about the details of his therapy session and she keeps the CEO updated … extremely weird! There are laws about therapist/patient confidentiality. And this is a workplace. And he tells her about it with a lightness that is shocking for the kind of therapy he is in and what we know of his struggle from part one.
After their date, she follows him and sees him talking to a hooker on a street corner. She is devastated, felt cheated. And she shuts down for 3 days after that and stays in her apartment. Can’t sleep in her bed or make a coffee because they have been in that bed together and he made her coffee the next morning. And this after one date and one night, no commitment and she knows he’s a sex addict!!!
And she is portrayed as a kick ass strong woman! WOW.
Part 2 ends with her boss telling her: ‘what have you done?’ and she is overwhelmed by his disappointment and is given the rest of the week off.
Part 3: starts with her drinking alone at home, because of this 1 date and one night and no commitment with a sex addict.
Her boss calls her brother and the brother comes to the rescue. That scene is useless because it brings nothing to the story.
Another weird part of the story: Evan was her brother’s best friend when she was 8 and he was 10. They haven’t seen each other for 20 years. She has changed her name and her hair color from brunette to blond. The moment she changes back to brunette again and curls it like when she was 8, he recognizes her on the spot (after noth seeing her for 20 years when they were 8 and 10 years old). He calls her by her old name and accuses her of lying.
Part 3 is about her treating him as a cheater and him treating her as a lier and they are playing stupid games with each other’s. The sex addiction is none existing anymore and any other ‘secret’ is skimmed over at the surface.
The book ends with a happy ever after, him overcoming his sex addiction. We don’t get this deep look into him for that like the book started, just that he is with her. We don’t get to see the effort he’s done to mirror the detailed horrors he’s been through at the beginning of the book.
The boss turns out to be the former lover of his mother, again doesn’t add to the story, any boss who sees his brilliant work path before his addiction might be willing to give him a second chance on probation.
We don’t get to know why she changed her name and hid her past, why she used to have nightmares and was avoiding relationships. She is suddenly the most normal person with a healthy sex life.
It felt like it was written by different authors, separately, without knowing what the other made of the characters. Like 2 different stories but with same characters names.
It’s such a miss on a story that started so well.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was a good read
Actually rating 3.5 stars .
Evan James has been dealt a bad hand in his early years and later develops an addiction to sex. An addiction that like most, is ruining his life. No job and fast running out of money, all he think about is his next fix.
With an itch to scratch, Evan finds himself in the company of a beautiful blonde who he takes home and spends the night with. Although neither of them do repeats, this blonde wiggles her way under his skin and he finds himself unable to stop thinking about her or find his release without her in his thoughts and Evan quickly realizes his life is fast approaching rock bottom.
Relief comes in the form of a new job prospect but little does he know that Reagan his new boss, is actually the feisty blonde he hasn't been able to shake from his thoughts.
They are both harboring deep secret that could ultimately destroy them but can they conquer these deep secrets before they consume them?
So initially the blurb and the title pulled me and I was looking forward to diving in but I quickly found it wasn't what I had expected. I was expecting a story about a guy's down spiral into addiction and what I got was so much.
There were some bits that I loved and some bits, not so much.
The writing style of this author duo was fluid and consistent and I feel they captured the subject of addiction really well but with it I was expecting something darker, although this story does contain some disturbing scenes and I mean disturbing but I liked them. It just added to the plausibility of this story line. It just shows you the levels of depravity addicts will sink to in order to chase their next fix.
However I found I just couldn't connect with the characters. Something I couldn't quite put my finger on unfortunately but in the story they worked really well together, complimenting each other in and out of the bedroom in this steamy romance.
Over all it was a good read but it didn't captivate me like I hoped it would.
It is a standalone novel, so if you're looking for a steamy romance as opposed to a dark romance, I would recommend this novel to you.
