Robert Liebertz was born in Portland Oregon; but grew up in the suburb of Gresham. He worked a number of different jobs including construction work, waiter, vacuum salesman, and building fences. He found his calling at a 911 center answering calls and dispatching police. Robert worked as a 911 Dispatcher for the City of Portland Oregon for over 30 years: retiring in March of 2021.

He has been married to his wife Margaret since 1992. They have two children, Lucas and Emma. They also have two Siberian huskies, Nova and Ella.

Robert has been attending pirate festivals for decades. At one particular event, a friend encouraged him to invent his own name, character, and backstory. Robert started writing, and that backstory became the groundwork for his first book. He started writing “Gerard’s Fortune” in October 2020, and finished in January of 2021.

He spent months looking for a publisher during the covid lockdown. Frustrated with the process, Robert decided to self-publish with Amazon. His first book, Gerard's Fortune, was published July 28th, 2021. He now has five books published in the Sharp Tales series. His website, YouTube, and Facebook pages can all be found under the tag "sevenminutesofpiracy".

    I bought the first three books from Robert himself last Christmas season. I really enjoyed my conversation with him and sharing his love for sea-tails. He told me that when he started writing Sharp Tales the story kept building eventually growing into five books. I'm starting book five and I'm anxious to find out whether or not the next adventure of Captain Sharp and his crew are as successful as their previous voyages. I'll assure you it's bound to be a page turner!

    Another rip-roaring entry into the story of Gerard the Sharp. This character gets more interesting as his story progresses, not less. And the side-characters are also given intriguing stories. I read this book all in one sitting (okay, I took a break for some tea) because I couldn’t stop once I’d started. Recommended!
