KC Ryan is an independent author and designer who writes in the thriller, science fiction, and fantasy genres. Her first book is Shifter: A Zie & Dax Novel.

KC was born on the bayous of South Louisiana to a huge extended family. They taught her to value books, love, life, family, and food, though not necessarily in that order. She has also had the great pleasure of living in Denver, Colorado (Go Broncos). She currently resides in Florida with the loves of her life, her husband and her son.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Communications, she worked as a journalist for a year before discovering she preferred writing about British secret agents hunting dimension-shifting killers than the blue-ribbon winner at the town fair. Since then, she has worked in education and is currently a school district administrator.

Throughout all her ventures, She has treasured her childhood dream of becoming an author. She writes every chance she gets and is constantly finding inspiration for new worlds to build. Her goal as a writer is to create more than stories. She wants to create experiences for the reader that extend beyond the novel itself, giving them a chance to connect with her characters.

    To begin with, I loved this book! The characters are well-developed and believable, and the plot leaves you breathless. I was kept guessing up until the last chapter! Just when you think you know what is going to happen, a twist occurs that makes you keep reading. The only downside to the novel is that I want the second installment - NOW! Hurry up, KC Ryan - I have a feeling you're going to be a highly acclaimed author with a huge following, and I cannot wait for that second novel.

    I wish I could write a review as riveting as author KC Ryan's words flow in this novel. From the first page she pulls you into the life of Zie and holds you throughout the book, as Zie faces new twists in her life. The book ends making you want to immediately pick up the next one. I anxiously await the release of the next novel to learn where Zie and Dax journey leads!
