In my life there are no happy accidents. Every move is carefully orchestrated. Every situation premeditated. That’s what makes the hunt so intoxicating.
What you need, I become.
What you crave, I will give.
Except the one thing you desire above all else—love.
Everything I told you is true—I’m not a good man, but you choose what you want to hear.
You shouldn’t have come that night. Maybe then you’d be safe. But it’s too late now.
I want you because you remind me of him. I need you to give me back what I lost.
Warning: This is not a love story. It is not a romance. This is an obsessive stalker lust story that contains darker themes that may serve as a trigger to some readers. Shiver is a standalone novel.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2017"the thrill I got out of being alone with him, unbeknownst to him, was electrifying."
I want to start out by saying that I went into this book completely BLIND. Well...not completely blind. I had the synopsis but that's pretty vague, so yeah, basically blind. I was lucky enough to be given an early copy, I had no character names, NOTHING. So, I was beyond excited and my nerves were all over the place. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW!!!! This book is probably one of the greatest reading experiences I’ve had all year. And I think not knowing ANYTHING actually served a great purpose. You know that thrill you get from watching a scary movie? Not knowing when or where the bad things will happen? Yup, that’s this book.
“I…wanted it. The pain. The pleasure I knew would eventually come. Use me…”
This book isn't rainbows and flowers. It's devious, it's dirty, it's mysterious, and at the same time it's profoundly beautiful. I love when characters challenge me and make me work for their secrets, discovering hidden truths about people is always so gratifying. These characters are SO different from each other. One is beautifully flawed, and the other is so innocent with these disturbing outer layers. It’s amazing to me how much my heart opens up to such depravity.
“I was totally lost. Lost to the darkest depths of my soul over this man, and it was too late for anyone to save me now.”
The writing is knock-out good, and the story itself is addictive and completely consuming! It’s not a romance, but there are definitely some romantic nuances that I LOVED. It’s very stalkery, which is in my opinion, only acceptable in a novel, and this was done PERFECTLY. I might have a thing for stalker behavior. It’s sexy, hot, and holy smokes you will need to go to confession afterwards if you’re into that. So, if you’re in need of an escape from reality THIS BOOK will give you that AND more, SO much more.
“I’d been hard since I flicked the lights off and heard him call my name with a tremble in his voice. Sick. Warped. And dangerous.”
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2017These authors are correct. This is not a love story. Part of me wanted these two to find some sort of happy ending. I wanted this to get wrapped up nicely by the end to make me feel better. But the authors did the right thing. It would have cheapened the story, as well as went against the characters, to have this all end nicely and sweetly. I really want more to these two interesting characters, but then I think where they ended it is just right. You can conclude your own theory on how things progress. I hope for happy things, even though the real world would not have that be a likely case.
I was glad I read this. It took me a little out of my comfort zone, and I know for many people this might be too much to take. Wolfe is one hundred percent a stalker. It is wrong to romanticize that, which is why I think these authors did right by making what happened towards the end happen. It was interesting to get into Wolfe's head, and I think this story is likely to stick with me for a while. It is well written, very hot in many places, and a true mind f..k. Read at your own risk!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2021I don’t know how to begin reviewing this book. I’m hesitant to begin another book before writing this review because of the severe book hangover I’m languishing in. I’ll read anything—and I mean anything—written by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine. They always deliver an amazing and complicated love story with a satisfying HEA. But heed their warning: this is NOT a love story! This is a dark stalker story at its best with some glimpses of pseudo romance.
Salvatore Wolfe is a deeply flawed character. He is an accomplished and all-powerful businessman who owns a great deal of the city and just happens to also own an exclusive and pricey sex club. Innocent Jesse visits there one evening with his rich best friend and captures the interest of The Wolfe. What follows is a fever dream of infatuation and obsession that makes me, in my romantic heart, want a happy ending to this twisted tale. No. We don’t get that. But we do get all the feels of sweet Jesse, the little lamb, who opens himself completely to a whirlwind romance (?), maybe love, and definitely lust with the older and way more experienced Wolfe. The characters are so compelling and the authors make us root for them when we’ve already been told it won’t end that way. Yes, it is still worth the read knowing that. I could have easily read another 250 pages of this book had it gone that far and will definitely read it again in the future. I recommend it to my friends who love m/m romances and are in for something a little different.
• The playlist included in the book is fire. It’s so worth listening to these songs while reading the book. It’s a whole vibe.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED it. But................................
So. I love this. But WHAT was the ending? You have to have a HEA. It's like the LAW! :D But, yeah, I liked this book alot, but the ending is wrecking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frank and Blaine epic writing, dark, edgy, naughty, a complete change up from their normal work, so damn good.
So when I think of Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine writing together I immediately think of Aced, Preslocked, and Wedlocked, a truly epically excellent series that I never wanted to end. In fact when it did, I cried. True fact.
This new series (please girls and God...make this a series ) I’m deliciously excited about and why wouldn’t I be.
Shiver is a well written, fast paced, slightly darker, edgier lusty, romance that pulls you in from the first page and holds tight until the last sentence. It was wickedly delightful simply because while it had some BDSM elements (and certainly less than some I’ve read in other novels) I enjoyed the story far more due to the dark, edgy, almost helpless to be anything but a possessive stalker theme that pervaded the story from the enigmatic Salvatore Wolfe, as he pursued the innocent Jesse from the moment he spotted the poor little lamb in his sex Den. Wolfe was completely caught by his dark will and disturbing cravings, his erotic desire for Jesse pulled me in so insidiously, and never let go, even when common sense told me anyone with a brain probably should be running for the hills.
When it became a blatantly clear that sexy delicious Wolfe had a few screws loose, the intoxicating change up in the novel from something lusty and perhaps a little naughty to something that was wicked with a twist of evil, sent the edginess of the plot through the roof. It was so subtle and so wonderfully sublime, I actually grinned like a loon as I caught the increased pace.
Salvatore Wolfe is so shockingly bad he’s completely lickable and the innocently yearning from Jesse is an allure that is so erotically pervasive for the big bad Wolfe, it’s no wonder he’s is all over Jesse, like rosemary sprigs on a lamb roast.
Shiver, was fun, and darkly erotic...a total turnabout for the joint writing from Frank and Blaine, this new pathway was like their co-penmanship was being reinvented. Yummm....So, so delicious. I was actually sad the book ended and am now anxiously waiting for the next Installment, surely there’s more.... i’ll cry a river if there’s not.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've never read anything like this before
I've never read anything like this before, it was a refreshing change yet disturbing at the same time. When the book ended I was crying NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! lol! I was like there has to be more to the story. And when I realized it was it was a standalone I was crushed!
I've never read either author before, so I didn't know what I was expecting...when I realized it involved a gay couple I was thrilled!
Salvatore definitely had a presence, you could feel it coming off the pages. And poor Jesse, he was like the fly walking into the spiders web, well in this case The Wolfe's Den.
It got my heart racing at times and it was like I was waiting for the inevitable crash.
Man it was so good!
I am not going to say anything about the story cus I went into it blind not knowing who the characters were or anything and I loved it! It's better that way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Un thriller psychologique M/M sombre et érotique
"Fear had always been an instant aphrodisiac for me - other'sfear, that was. Ever since I was a teenager I'd been this way. Some would say I was born this way. That part of my soul was dark from the minute I was born."
"The innocence. The fear. And the excitement he got from feeling that way. I wanted to revel inside of it, nurture it and confort it, right before I tore it apart."

5.0 out of 5 stars A Chilling read.
Now, I've read alot of depraved things out there, so when this just started as a stalker, Dominant, submissive trope, I wasn't feeling queasy.
But give it time. The magnitude of the things being done will crawl up on you.
It was terrifying seeing Jesse falling in the wicked promise Wolfe tells us in the blurb.
And even more distressing was to see wolfe slowly but surely lose his bearings.
So methodical, so sure.
At one point, you will wonder what's hunting who. That's for you to discover.
The ending did Infact left me feeling squemish not because there was anything gory or stuff but just the implications of the actions. We are just left behind to the chilling truth. And it sent shivers up my spine.
An unusual read coming from these two authors but as always, fabulous in execution and variety.
This one left me tingling.
