    I came across Rochelle through the Read Me Romance app and Alexa Riley. I started listening to her book and loved it, but I was super frustrated that only the first chapter was currently available (seriously, who wants to wait 4 days for the end of the story but it was SO GOOD). When they mentioned she had some perma-freebies I immediately downloaded both of them. After reading Black River Pack 1, I HAD to buy this continuation of the story line and I was NOT disappointed. Heavy on the realistic relationship components, even handed with the steamy, and an awesome HEA alone would make this book great, but the depth of character and the believable interwoven stories and the vision thread (I won’t explain #nospoilers) make you WANT to read the whole thing. I already bought book 3 and just can’t wait to find out about Parker’s mate!

    I bought this book after reading the teaser at the end of Book 1. I wasn't very impressed with the previous book, but when I read the teaser for this one, it seemed like it was going to be an emotional story. I could sense Eliza's despair and fear, and wanted to see how Spencer would comfort and reassure her, help her to feel secure.

    There was a bit of overlap with Book 1 in the beginning, with the author going over the same scenes except from Eliza and Spencer's point of view. If you haven't read Book 1, it'll get you up to speed on what happened and how Eliza and Spencer have reached this point. But if you have, it's repetitive; it felt redundant to me.

    Anyway. This story felt a bit draggy because Spencer keeps repeating how dumb he's been not to recognize Eliza was his mate all this while, while Eliza is hesitant to trust him because she keeps dreaming about him rejecting her. They were at a bit of a stalemate with not much happening for about half the book. His excuse for ignoring his wolf's earlier instincts about Eliza somehow didn't seem convincing to me. I also didn't feel that Spencer did much to make Eliza feel cared for. Since she has suffered so much rejection and fear in the past, he really needed to be more gentle and tender with her to help her feel safe, and I didn't see him doing that. This made me disappointed in the romance aspect of the book.

    The she-wolf challenge thing felt forced, like as if the author knew there needed to be more conflict in the story so she had to throw something in. If mating is instinctive and shifters automatically recognize their mate, it makes no sense for another she-wolf to insist that Spencer is her mate and claim that he's choosing the wrong person. The author didn't explain why Layla would think this way, so the whole scenario felt extremely weird.

    I didn't fall in love with Spencer and I don't quite know why Eliza did. That's why this book has only three stars.

    Oh my sometimes we are determined to not see what is right in front our faces. Spencer and Eliza what a pair. I loved this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Spencer showed how stubborn and alpha he could be and Eliza had a strong personality as well. To be strong is never easy but when you need to survive and be loved that is what you need to be (strong).

    I loved the characters and the message from this book. It conveyed the message of if you have a strong support system and people by your side you can make it through anything. I love it when there is support from strong characters. There is something to be said about having someones back and in return they have yours.

    Recommend this series.

    It took to long for the h to be convinced that the H was her mate and I really hate that when that happens in a book it takes away from the story. Finally after several chapters he's convinced her she's his. There was minimal drama with ow but Spencer took care of that which I loved and a sweet HEA. Can't wait for her dad's story.

    Both Elisa and Spencer are shape shifters. The pair of them are from the same wolf pack, Eliza being asked to join the pack a couple of years back after being shunned and exiled from her original pack. The pack leader of her old pack found out that Eliza is a dream walker and that some of her visions and premonitions were coming true and he didn't like to believe her, so this is when she was shunned and exiled. This story goes on to tell us of her love for Spencer and his for her when he realises that she is his true mate.
