About the Author

Biography Luke Romyn was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1975. His life since reads like something out of his novels: heavily entrenched in personal trauma, action, thrills, and adventure.

For over two decades, Luke has worked in the security industry; from bouncing in some of Australia's roughest pubs and nightclubs to protecting Mickey Mouse and the Disney crew from the overzealous jaws of tenacious toddlers. He's been bodyguard for celebrities internationally and chased feral pigs and snakes from jungle sets on Steven Spielberg productions. Luke has traveled the globe and spent time in some of the most amazing locations the world has to offer.

This experience fuels the Australian writer's ever-expansive imagination, and he pours it into his novels, combining fact with fiction, history with fantasy, delivering engrossing action-thrillers which leave fans gasping for more. Luke's quick wit has seen his social media following explode, and he is currently one of the most prolific social media celebrities in Australia, with several hundred thousand followers across the internet.

Publishing his first book, The Dark Path, in 2009 saw it voted in the top 10 horror novels of that year, even though Luke denies ever intending the novel to be classed as horror. Luke Romyn is now one of the most popular indie authors in the ever-growing eBook market and personally completes everything from cover art to final formatting, working tirelessly with editors so as to refine the best stories possible for his readers. The results are international bestsellers you're certain to love diving into. Hundreds of thousands of readers can't be wrong.

Sounds stalkerish, but I have fallen in love with this author! His first book I read, Corpus Christi blew me away. Since then I've bought all his books.

I bought this book in July and just now read it in Sept. I felt bad for not jumping right into it, but I wasn't quite ready for the heaviness that Mr. Romyn's books bring to the table. I'm not talking physical weight. I'm talking emotional, mental and just down right WTH is wrong with me!

I honestly don't know what genre to label his writing. He deserves a category of his own called...Just Read The Damn Book Because It's Good! Under amazon he is listed as thriller and horror. I've read horror and thriller, to me this isn't it. Let me just explain what I mean quickly:

We all know by now, Jake is the new Messiah. The only problem is...is he the real one? Satan has sent the Fallen out to destroy the Earth and Jake and all his allies. Jake still questions how he is to accomplish this monumental task with no direction. Jake learns he may or may not be the spawn of Satan.

I see why they label this horror...DEMONS. I also see where the terror comes to play...HELL and SATAN! You also have blood, guts, torture and death. Just your basic good all around bed time story. I personally love the authors sense of humor that is dribbled into the book. I personally think the character Vain, is the alter ego of Mr. Romyn.

I don't know why at the time I wrote my review, only 10 people have reviewed this book. More people should be reading his work. He is an outstanding author with a wonderful imagination. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jake and his Followers deal with Satan.

It took a while to get into the first book in this Legacy Chronicles series. It wasn't until about half way through that I really gained interest. Sins of the Father took me on a journey of blending adventure, fantasy, philosophy, and religion in a non conventional way. It was a fun read. It offered a fresh and different way at looking at good and evil. I'm ready the 3rd book now.

What a great story! Yet again, Luke Romyn immediately sucks you in and will not let you go. There is just no where in this book that the action slows down enough that you can stop reading and pick it up again tomorrow. His characters are all believable, warts and all, and despite their occasional (sometimes serious) stumbles, they all seem to manage to find some hidden strength they weren't aware they had and they get the job done. Then there's the fact that the author always keeps you up-to-date on what the bad guys are planning so you are mentally urging the main characters to hurry, or don't do that, or to do something else and this will keep your brain tied in knots! It's really a thrill to read this author's writing. Just don't start this book after dinner unless you're a phenomenal speed reader. This is not one you can put down and finish tomorrow! In fact, you'll need all your will power to keep from starting Book 3 the minute you're done with this one!!!

For being only his second novel, he's won quite a number of awards -- all justified -- and I'm sure it won't be long before Luke Romyn gas moved from the NY Times New Author Best Seller list to the NY Times Top 10 Best Sellers. His writing is certainly worthy already!!!

Jake Hope's journey continues as he, seemingly, loses his most powerful allies. The story follows him on his path of self-discovery and salvation of the world.

The author continues to provide delight in this well written, imaginative, and entertaining work. There's action, adventure, paranormal creatures of heaven and earth, military engagements, and Vain. BRAVO!

This story rates a 5 star rating based on the above, alone. It could rate 5 stars merely on the basis that I can never predict what the outcomes to situations will be. When one reads a lot, stories become predictable. This has yet to happen as I read Mr. Romyn's books.

Great story, fast paced loads of twists and turns.

Despite my ever-growing pile of books I mean well to read, when this book was released I purchased it straight away and placed it atop my list. I've read everything this author has published and I've yet to be disappointed with my time spent reading his work. His books are always multifaceted and engaging.

So, on to this one in particular. Earth is in great peril, the Antichrist has appeared and the gates of hell have been flung open. It is left for man to oppose the great deceiver and win the day. Heady stuff, occasionally offset by the author's trademark humor. Sins of the Father, the much awaited second volume in The Legacy Chronicles, was, in short, amazing. Imagine, if you will, a plot which involves matching wits with the Devil himself. Do you enjoy a book filled with intrigue? We follow along on the journey undertaken by Jacob Hope as he endeavors, as a mere mortal, to discern how he is to defeat the forces of hell which are allied against him. Sure, he has aid now and again from angels and he does possess some ethereal powers which he has yet to fully comprehend, but the task is, to say the least, daunting. One other source of assistance at various times comes in the person of Vain, an assassin with loyalties to no one, but who at least has no fondness for Satan. Although he is a minor player in the series so far, Vain is a complicated character and should you wish to know more of him do not hesitate to grab a copy of The Dark Path, which features him and describes his origins.

Another first-rate offering from Luke Romyn awaits you. Don't hesitate to get a copy!

Not quite as good as other Legacy Chronicles. Somehow the darkness that characterizes Luke Romyn's other books isn't there. I looked forward to that in this book and was a little disappointed when I didn't find it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The battle for humanity continues with the collapse of everything we take for granted! What would you do to stop Armageddon?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 4, 2013
I have had this book for a few weeks now and have been desperate to read it, holidays and time with my wife and kids delayed that!
Having read it now I can tell you this is one awesome read. A follow up to Corpus Christi and a continuation of The Dark Path story catches up on Jacob Hope and his continued fight against the evil to end all evil, the Devil himself! Not wanting to give too much away you can expect nothing to be as it seems, friends come and go and bonds with the unexpected form to play out a story of biblical proportions.
As I have said before, Luke has an amazing way of capturing you and carrying you with his journey, I missed my bus stop twice on the way to work!! He can create a character that absorbs you, from our "hero" Jacob, to the dark Vain, to Abbadon the saved Fallen, to Aadesh who is not quite what he seems.
New figures emerge to help in the battle against the darkness, the lieutenants, and Jacob is thrown a curved ball about who he really is. Everything is at stake and the world is about to be plunged into chaos and darkness, the rise of a mirrored enemy is more than just a distraction from Jacobs ultimate goal and sometimes doing nothing gives you time to find out who you really are.
All in all this is a must read book and I for one cannot wait for the next instalment, I'm hooked!
    Thanks Luke.

3.0 out of 5 stars I finished it but a bit slow
Reviewed in Canada on July 29, 2014
This book was a bit slow and very repetitive. It gets old hearing the main charcuterie Jake always say the same thing over and over. I enjoyed the first book more then the second. I will go get the third and see how that one is. I think I liked it enough to give it another try.

I began reading The Dark Path and have been hooked on @LukeRomyn' s series The Legacy Chronicles since. The characters are brilliant, interesting and diverse, and I do seem to have a soft spot for Vain. The writing is very descriptive and leaves you wanting to know what will happen next. Really looking forward to getting started on Rise of the Fallen

This, the second in the series, was an excellent continuation of the story. You wouldn't read this without reading the first book so you should definitely buy all of them!
Jacob Hope is the new messiah, the son of God, and he's on a mission to stop the End of Days but with Satan as a foe it's not exactly straightforward.
