About Brina Brady

From the streets of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, where I ruled as the eldest of five siblings, my life’s journey has been an adventure. After marrying my partner, we started a family and welcomed three amazing daughters into our lives. In 1973, the waves called, and we answered—moving to the sun-kissed beaches of sunny Huntington Beach, California. It was a dream come true.

Later, I married my loving second husband, and when family called, we packed up and headed to Indiana. Retirement opened a new chapter for me, filled with the laughter of my four adorable grandchildren and the company of two sweet cats. It’s a life full of love and completed goals.

For twenty-seven years, I taught at a Continuation High School in Los Angeles, California, where I shared my passion for learning with my students. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Secondary Social Science Credential, and a master’s degree in Secondary Reading and Secondary Education from California State University, Long Beach. I also took creative writing classes at UCLA, which helped fuel my love for storytelling.

Speaking of storytelling, I’ve been hooked on it since I was a kid. As a child, I’d spend Saturday afternoons writing novels while sipping on my grandmother’s homemade, comforting chicken soup. Even as a busy stay-at-home mom, I made time to write every day—it was my escape and my joy. Later, while teaching, I kept writing, though the demands of the classroom meant I had less time to devote to it.

Today, I’m a contemporary romance author who loves writing LGBTQ+ stories. My books often explore complex relationships and emotional journeys, with several series diving into BDSM dynamics. I also write MM romance without BDSM themes, focusing on engaging plots, well-developed characters, and plenty of steamy moments.

When I’m not writing, I’m indulging in my other passions. I’m an avid reader, always getting lost in new worlds and characters. I also love graphic design, where I get to blend art and technology to create something beautiful. And when it’s time to relax, I’m hooked on Turkish TV series—their rich stories and cultural depth totally captivate me. Each of my hobbies reflects my love of creativity, storytelling, and exploring new horizons.

This an age gap relationship where both men had to grow and lean not only trust but what's in their hearts. Ethan boy leaves him because he didn't have his heart and love. Then he placed an ad for a new boy. Arden applies because his last relationship ended when he was left in the woods to fend for himself. He had trust and abandonment issues. Together the each find love and a place to belong.

This was a very good story and obviously BDSM is the center of the story. Sir Ethan and Adrian make good MCs and go through a lot in their relationship. The writing was somewhat juvenile but could be overlooked as the story was able to carry the writing.

I enjoyed the premise of the book, but it felt...almost childishly written. Sentences were repeated, and words were omitted. Adrien was almost ridiculous with his behavior.

It seems Adrien couldn't stop breaking the rules Sir Ethan gave him as they navigated their new relationship. Adrien's naivety to being a submissive contributed to that as he was trying to overcome being abandoned in the woods by his former boyfriend while missing his family that were deported back to France 2 years ago without any word. Sir Ethan came across too strict as he also was abandoned by his previous sub but he finally realized where he went wrong and he and Adrien finally find their groove which made me happy. Adrien deserved love after Stone abused him and Sir Ethan was there to give that to him. Plenty of angst, sex, and meddling friends. I highly recommend this book and would love to see it become a series. I've always loved Brina's books and the way she gives such depth to her characters and you will too.

Great story. Brina kept me wanting to get back to the book. That's my best rating. When you can't put it down is about as good as it gets.

This is a new author to me and a new story line where contracts for a D/s were involved. My only issue was I felt that Sir Ethan should have communicated with Adrien, who was new to the lifestyle, more of what was expected. Overall, I enjoyed the story.

It's funny but sometimes what you think you want is not exactly what you thought you needed. After his last relationship Ethan thought he was just looking for a sub, someone to spend time with and make life more enjoyable. Adrien was looking for a way to survive, life had thrown him for a loop and he was having a really hard time, including a leaving a really bad relationship. Together they found a relationship that with some time, good communication, and lots of understanding it could evolve into a love to last a lifetime. This is my first book by this author but definitely not my last, a well written fast reading story with a wonderful ending, really enjoyed it.

Alright, the story itself is fine, but the writing is so formal and stilted that it makes it difficult to read at times. None of the conversations come off naturally. It really is more like reading a news article about a D/s couple. Also, some of the D/s elements are kind of iffy ... like how Ethan makes everyone call him "Sir" Ethan, when no other Doms in the story go by anything except their first names. He also changes his mind about punishments and instead of teachable moments, he flies off the handle about stuff and then claims that those are the teachable moments.

There are some strange things with the drama between Stone and Adrien, like why the local cops weren't waiting at Stone's trailer? (you'll understand when you read, I don't want to give too many spoilers)

There are some minor editing errors and some inconsistencies, only a couple that I recall as being bad enough to throw me off completely. Really, the worst thing was all the stilted, formal language used.

An absolutely brilliant book. I bought it mid afternoon and was finished the same night. I simply couldn't put it down. The characters were real people with real flaws which I loved. Watching them bond and slowly pull each other through their struggles is what made the story so moving. However it wasn't simply Sir Ethan and Adrien who made this book so special but also the group of close friends who brighten their lives. The interactions between characters intensified the story in so many ways, adding to its depth and dimensions. An lovely book which I'm sure to revisit again in future.

I'm growing to like Dom and Sub stories, as long as they're not too abusive and the abuse in this tale came from someone else. Sir Ethan and Adrien made for a very interesting and sexy story, the writing now and then was rather basic but on the whole it's a good and enjoying story.

An okay book by the author I usually love this authors stories but something with this one I couldn't get into. I loved Adrien's character he certainly needs to be loved, but thanks to Stone, he's feelings of low self-esteem needs to be fixed. He's new to the Submissive and Domination so he's got lots to learn. Ethan, well I didn't like him at the start regarding Adrien and Jaden but there's always a reason why. The sexy scenes where hot between the characters. There was a bad scene were I thought Adrien should have gone to hospital or seen an Doctor after being rescued, his pain should have come through in the book after. The ending was okay and included a few surprises for Adrien. Adrien and Ethan are definitely meant to be together but the communication is always the key. If the author could've changed one thing in this..it would have to be definitely Ethan's overused surname..

3.0 out of 5 stars Potentially Very Good.

I enjoyed the premise of this story but I felt the execution was a bit lacking. Repetitive sentence structure "He did this. He did that. He did the other" is a particular pet peeve of mine. I find it reminiscent of writing "Here is my news" in school. The dialogue was very stilted and unnatural. There were some confused analogies, some eye rolling "did you have to take it so far" moments and an overall unpolished feel to the story. A story that is in essence solid and potentially very entertaining. If course, this is only my opinion. I'm sure other readers may differ entirely.
