Riley Knight is an avid reader and has always had a soft spot for gay romances. What could be better than a sweet story between two beautiful men who need each other? It only seemed logical for Riley to write these steamy, emotional romances, focusing on an emotional and happy ending.

When not reading or writing, Riley can be found wandering the landscape and loves to go for long walks and observe all sorts of people and situations.

As a kid I used to read Nicholas Sparks books... Don't ask me why..I guess I was a middle ages woman in a past life haha but I digress. Even though I loved so!e.of his books I always longed for some Small Town M&M romance stories that aren't just based on sex. Small Town Christmas is very quaint and warm and I definitely recommend it. It's a quick and easy read and will leave you feeling all gooey inside.

I really like this book a lot, so much so that I just had to stay up late and finish it. My favorite thing about this book is Andy one of the main characters. There is something about him that just fascinates me. I loved seeing him evolve from someone who is closeted and fearful slowly grow and end up open and proud of who he is and who he loves. This was a wonderul read, though it could of been a bit more Christmassy. Over all this was a very enjoyable read.

I read another of this author's books (Country Christmas), and it was quite enjoyable. This one, however is so incompetently written one wouldn't believe it's the same author. Everything is wrong. The phrasing is awkward, words are used incorrectly, and ideas are repeated (in slightly different words) several times in succeeding paragraphs, Characters act completely inconsistently with what the author implies is their motivation (the life-long closeted sheriff is so carried away with his insta-lover that they fall out of the elevator and grapple down the hall, kissing - in truth, he never behaves with any caution at all). There are inconsistencies in time, in character, even in location. The author shows an odd naivete about how adults, professionals, even small towns work - the sheriff is very concerned about his opposition in the election, but chooses not to campaign and spends all his time in bed, the first time the MCs have sex is while the sheriff is investigating a crime - IN the crime scene, no less - and the residents of the tiny town somehow fail to notice that the two spend every night in the hotel and eat breakfast in public together. My conclusion: this was not written by an adult.

I think that this is one of those mistakes some authors make - publishing their juvenilia without reworking it. The first chapter, at least, was slightly more polished, and I wanted to like the book, but honestly couldn't bear it beyond about the 30% point.

Andy's in the closet, Jeffery's not. Can these two find happiness? I enjoyed the story and the characters were interesting.

Andy is the sheriff of the small town that Jeffrey visits because of work. From the moment they meet there's a mutual attraction and even if Andy isn't out and hasn't had a relationship with a man before they start seeing each other in secret.

I like Andy and Jeffrey together and I understand the insecurity from both their sides because of their pasts.
What I didn't like was Andys inability to stand up to Chris, who supposed to be the former sheriff, a former friend and someone who committed crimes while being the sheriff. He just walks all over Andy it irritated me.
The story is told in dual POV and does end happily for Andy and Jeffrey.

I really hope that this was a first attempt at writing because although the basic idea was interesting the foundation fell apart quickly. The repetition was so pervasive the reader only needed to read the first paragraph then could confidently skip to the next section of dialogue and be certain they missed nothing. A little more info on the "business" would be nice and some research on being a sheriff would have helped along with some common sense. I am sorry but this is a perfect example of what makes me crazy when I insist on my own rule of finishing every book I start. It felt like a waste of time. Sorry.

In Granite Hills, near Seattle, Jeffery arrives to seal a deal with the Hotel owner. The owner, Richard is a schemer and a slimy character. After his meeting, Jeffery goes back to his room to find it ransacked, so he reports it to the Sheriff, Andy, tall, rugged and buff; a bearded hunk. The men are attracted immediately, but are treading softly, because Andy is "in the closet." Handsome, younger, trim, suit wearing Jeffery, has vowed to himself to never again be someone's secret.
Andy is long established in town, and is afraid he'll lose his job if he's "out." The men decide to risk sexy times as a one night stand, but it won't be enough. This story has a multiple story line going on, with mean, twisted men, another ransacking, kids in town getting sick from illegal drugs, and more to deal with. I agree with others, it's not extremely Christmas themed, but it's just as heartwarming in the end. The descriptive writing gives us a feel for the settings. Our men keep meeting with, more hot sex, but when their fevered encounters increase, it's the deep emotions that take hold. Both guys want more, and we see their sizzling scenes and especially the first times. It is Andy's first time anal, he bottoms for Jeffery's first time topping, and it's beautifully written with emotion, tenderness, and now that their hearts are in the mix, the sex is breathtaking. There is much inner turmoil and heavy thoughts as they move forward, trying to overcome their doubts and fears.
We have a rescue, a capture, several arrests, confessions and a wrap up. The ending has lots of hope and hotness, while decisions are made.
I liked it very much because it's the characters I cared for right through the story and beyond.
    ENJOY !

To be completely honest, I couldn't bring myself to finish this book. I found the characters tedious and the language used was convoluted.
