- Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2021Lots more action in this book. I enjoyed the character growth. There are still mysteries to find out and I hope those are explained in the next book. Kudos.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021I like the characters and the story is getting better. In the first books you could tell what was coming even though Ty the hero could not. As the books progressed each step of the story is more mysterious.
My only draw back is that the author tends to repeat himself ALOT and it drags the story on. This book there was a frustration as the hero tried to take his next step in his journey but couldn’t unlock the epiphany he needed. So as he struggled we would read the same words Over and over for multiple paragraphs. As a reader we were connected to his emotions so a summary of the struggle could have moved the story along faster.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2021I so enjoyed book 3. Its tru three's a charm! Finally some well needed answers revealed. I am so glad Gayal believes. I think her confidence in Ty and his potential make him believe in himself. When bringing the special group together that let's him begin to find his true purpose. Here I come #4.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2021Ty has a complicated life. He is looking for his parents, he has found his brother, but doesn't really know him. In this world dragons exist. He is somehow connected to one. He must find how to access that connection. He struggles as he doesn't know what he has to do. His nemesis is trying to destroy the world that Ty knows. And he needs to find his connection to stop him. The excitement in the story never stops. I gave it 5 stars, D. K. Holmgren is able to put us into the mind of Ty and share his experiences.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2021Not a bad read, but incredibly slow, mainly because of all the internal dialogue from the main character which was very redundant and unnecessary. It seemed half of the book was spent with the character thinking "what about this, what about that, could it be this, could it be that?". Those are the kind of things a reader will think about on their own if the book is interesting enough. I found myself skipping everything that wasn't in quotation marks and the book magically got interesting again. Way too much thinking and not enough "doing".
- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2021This is a great continuation of the series. The description of all the saga is engaging and mesmerizing. It kept me enthralled till the very end, can’t wait for the next book in the series

- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2021The difference between the emperor's dragons and those of the tecals, is like night to day.
The emperor's dragons are small, almost infantile, stunted animals and so different to the gigantic animals that once roamed the world.
Then there are the tecals dragons. One afog dragon, another a wind dragon and then there is Ty's... a smoke dragon. Ephemeral almost., if not for a stone dragon. Yes, quite unlike any of those hulking brutes of ancient times as well. Yet very, very powerful.
If only Ty could learn how to master and control that smoke dragon.
And anyone that thought the Dragon Touched of the Order of the Flame (the secretive ones) , have been resolved, is and would be making a huge mistake. Peace will prove as ephemeral as some of these dragons.
Onceeagain author DK Holmberg crafted a suspenseful fantasy around a resurgent dragon tale that seems to gradually build to a climax but one that robs you of breath the further you read. Phew.!
Enjoy

A fantastic episode in the series, drama and excitement aplenty. The growth of the characters as the story develops is masterful. Really great tale, looking forward to the next book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
I read the first two books and although not too keen, I thought the storyline would improve, so I'd plod on with this 3rd book. I had to give up, it was just soooooooo boring. I found I was fast forwarding so many pages that I stopped and wondered what I was doing.
I realised that I was bored so came out of the story and returned to Kindle Unlimited. Shame, I thought this series was going to be good.
