So Worth More: Second Chances Series Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 104 ratings

An M/M second chance romance

Andy ends his friends with benefits relationship with his co-worker, Will, when he realizes that while it has plenty of benefits, it's light on the friends. He's sick of Will's rules and poor treatment but agrees to be friends, minus the benefits because he's still hung up on the guy.

Will gets the wake-up call he so desperately needed when Andy ends things and discovers that maybe Andy's feelings aren't one-sided but he's got a lot of healing to do before he can be the man that Andy needs.

So Worth More has some allusions to domestic abuse, mentions of former partners cheating, and a whole heap of family drama. While Andy does deserve better, Will does get there in the end. Told in dual pov with HEA.

This book was so worth reading! I enjoy second chance romances and am a huge fan of this author and wanted to read some of her contemporary romances (I’ve read her omegaverse books and love them). I really enjoyed this one and it was a fun quick read with a good amount of spice.

I feel like it must be a fine line in writing second chance romances between making one character (or maybe both) part of the reason the couple broke up in the first place and making them utterly dislikable to the audience. I think the author handled this perfectly. Will does some things that skirt the line in the second category with his actions toward Andy that make you shake your head but there are hints and teasers at why he pushes Andy away or that it’s for some reason that the audience doesn’t fully understand yet and not because he’s a terrible character. Andy has his own issues and baggage as well but I love how he has his own self assertive moments towards the end.

I enjoyed the other characters in the book and can’t wait to read Charlie’s story next. I am hoping there is a Henry and Pete story as there is so much tension and angst with these two. And although the audience doesn’t spend too much time with Charlie, the times he mentioned gear him up for one interesting story.

Pairing co-project managers in a small PR firm is plausible. That they're socially damaged moves the plot. The angst with their differing methods to handle issues, coupled with the raw sex scenes and all the family dynamics lends to a well staged novel.
The locale is not clearly stated (at least I didn't catch it), and the one clear reference to a Field Museum didn't say Chicago when they spent time looking at art. Just a small urban setting, I guess.

You have to wait for the happiness in this one. It is not an easy read but it is so worth it: just like the title says. Will treats Andy very poorly. Let’s be honest. Andy is definitely worth a lot more and I am proud of the character for realizing it. He has some baggage from past relationships that make it hard for him to stick to his decision but he gets too tired of being hurt. Will has to wake up and realize what he is doing to them both. He has issues with trust too but that doesn’t excuse his behavior and he knows it. Oh my gosh though. These two are so worth a read and I am glad that I did. There is a lot of forgiveness and love in this book. I will probably read this one again and again.

This was an enjoyable debut romance. There were several things that happened behind the scenes that I would have enjoyed seeing, especially near the end of the book, but the author did a good job of making me care about Andy and Will. Both men had serious past issues, so the rocky road to love was believable and understandable. I liked seeing Will work through his difficulties with trust, and I thought he was a good man at heart - even though a total jerk at the beginning. Andy had been abused and neglected in the past, and definitely put up with more from Will early on than he should have. I was thankful when his patience eventually paid off.
There were a lot of good secondary characters here I hope to get to know better. Andy and Will had an interesting group of friends. I liked this romance, and I look forward to reading more from this world. Seeing more of Will and Andy will be a nice bonus.

I really appreciated the progression of this story. I loved that things started off from the point of the break up then we kind of experienced the before and after of it all.

Andy and Will are coworkers with benefits on the down low. But one time Will takes things just a little too far so Andy calls it quits. He's starting to feel more than what Will can give him in return. I liked that the story starts off with Andy ending their arrangement. We got to see how they became coworkers and then added the benefits through their memories, which I really enjoyed. Will's past is filled with family drama and heartbreak, so I am glad that when he realizes he wants more with Andy, he decides to take time to sort his stuff out and seek help. I also like the supporting cast of characters and hope to see more of Pete and Henry, there is definitely a story between those two. A great debut novel by Jax Stuart.

This was my first Jax Stuart book and I loved it! I can definitely see myself reading more by this author!! Loved Andy from the get go. I was a little leary of Will at first, but after we got more of his backstory I heart was changed!!!! My heart broke for both Will and Andy and their past relationships!! I can’t think of two people who deserved their HEA more these two!!

There’s a nice blend of chemistry, character development, and drama in this story. Andy has a heart of gold, a spine of steel, and a forgiving nature that Will definitely puts to the test. Will is not a bad person, but he is in a bad place, emotionally, when the story starts, and it takes a while– a long, long while– for him to get things together enough to be the partner Andy needs. Many of the issues, later in the story in particular, could have been solved by just talking to each other, and I admit that by the time we got to the third or fourth time Will managed to make all the wrong choices and derail their relationship while knowing that he was in love with Andy I was short on patience and confidence that he’d ever stop with the self-sabotage. Eventually, of course, he does. There’s an HEA. And it feels particularly lovely for having been so very hard won. As an added bonus, I absolutely loved Gem, a supporting character who starts out seeming like she’s going to be the embodiment of the pointlessly malevolent and controlling girlfriend plot device and actually turns out to be a really nice person with a narrative of her own.

This is an utterly fantastic story, Andy is a sweetheart while Will is a total arse, but it was great to watch as he gradually got his big boy pants on, it's just a damn shame it took him so long. Angsty much it is, but also a great eye opener for all as Will learns his life's lesson. Just a fantastic story.
