Something: Regency, Romantic, Rollicking & Reflective: A Pride & Prejudice Collection 2 Kindle Edition

TIMELESS ROMANCE FOR THE BUSY READER

Something Regency - Elizabeth
He could have anything he wanted…except her. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy finds himself in the unusual position of chasing a woman rather than being chased. Miss Elizabeth Bennet is exasperated as Mr. Darcy, the rudest man of her acquaintance, is being nice—to her! How can she continue to despise a man who apologizes so well? Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, Pride & Prejudice, Mr. Darcy’s arrogance and pride are equally matched by Miss Elizabeth’s prejudice. While Mr. Darcy hesitates to speak, his cousin, Colonel Fitzwilliam, quite against his canon character, blurts his thought in the most inconvenient manner, adding to Darcy's distress. In this fast-paced novella set in Regency England, can they both overcome strongly entrenched personalities and the attempts to matchmake by the colonel to discover peace and happiness? Of course, they can. This is Mr. Darcy and his Elizabeth, he hopes.

Something Romantic – Lost & Found Miss Elizabeth Bennet is missing—vanishing without a trace from the library at Rosings Park. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy feels duty-bound to find the most frustrating young lady of his acquaintance. He is Elizabeth’s sworn enemy. Yet, when he comes to her rescue, she is forced to rethink her opinion. Trapped together for hours, each layer of their character is revealed until their masks are gone, and their worst fears are shared. Will Mr. Darcy’s arrogant pride keep him from finding tender affection and happiness? Will her prejudice withstand trials so a man worthy of her affection will not be lost?

Something Rollicking - Henry He likes her. She hates him. The puppy loves them both. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet get off to a rocky start. Can three-month-old Scottish sheepdog, Henry, herd two stubborn individuals together long enough to realize they are the perfect partners for a lifetime? Join in the frustration and fun when Mr. Darcy is forced to retrieve his errant puppy daily as Henry scampers from Netherfield Park to Elizabeth’s home of Longbourn. Told from her point of view, when she repeatedly spies haughty Mr. Darcy humbly showing affection to the puppy, Elizabeth is forced to acknowledge that first impressions might not always be accurate. Danger lurks, causing them to work together until Henry is safe. Is Mr. Darcy’s bark worse than his bite? Will Elizabeth remain as stubborn as a dog with a bone?

Something Reflective – His Frozen Heart Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy arrived in Hertfordshire with his sister’s words ringing in his ears. “You have a heart of stone.” He had no reason to doubt Georgiana Darcy. Or so he thought—until he met Miss Elizabeth Bennet. Each time he was in her company, Miss Elizabeth’s impertinence chipped away at Darcy with her wit and kindness. By the time autumn turned into winter, he was captivated. In the springtime, Darcy felt stirrings of love. By summer, he would do whatever it took to convince her he was a worthy gentleman with a warm heart brimming with tender affection. This variation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice is a 20,000-word glimpse into the Regency life of a man of means who learns to value the love of a good woman more than the wealth and position he was born into as the master of Pemberley.

Accused by his own sister, Georgiana, Darcy escapes to Netherfield to assist his friend Charles Bingley. The collection is interwoven with reflections by Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet. Throw in a tale from Darcy's childhood, which explains the depth of the toxic relationship with George Wickham. It was wonderful to see the metamorphosis from arrogant , self-absorbed know it all, to humble, caring , approachable, Gentleman. Enjoy!

Everyone of your stories feels like a totally different story even though they are the same characters in each. Once I start a story I have trouble putting the book down. You make it hard for me to get any work done or do any studying when I get a new book! They are so enjoyable.

I especially enjoyed these stories and loved that they are long enough to develop the characters but also short enough for me to read them in waiting times. As usual with this author, the tales are interesting and witty, worth every minute and every penny.

This is a very good grouping of stories. Loved Henry the best. I would have liked an epilogue for the last story, his frozen heart.

These original takes on Pride and Prejudice make for pleasant reading. They are well written and edited, and though variations, stay true to the integrity of the characters. My favourite was Henry, a little bundle of mischief that brings Elizabeth and Darcy closer.
