Strong Female Warriors and Magical Musical Instruments
This first book in the Resonance series is well paced, truly a "page-turner". The book features an innovative magic system, strong characters, double-crosses you never see coming, and mysterious/beautiful locales. While the book is a fun/exciting read, it is not without important and meaningful commentary on our modern American social climate (re: the rise of white nationalists and the importance of a strong educational system). I'm looking forward to book 2, and will be buying it as soon as it is released!

    I love strong heroines. This girl is just obnoxious, rude, whiney, and stupid. Many things contradict previous aspects of the plot-some even on the same page. There is very little character development. I read for a living. I am a librarian. I preview books to add to the collection. This won’t go in collection. I couldn’t finish-gave up.

    Imagine Tolkien and J.K Rowling collaborated a on novel while living in an anarchist commune. Now weaponize the trumpets. That's the book.
