Soul Magic Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 67 ratings

When Orion joins an established coven of powerful mages he is unsure how he will fit into the group. The four elemental mages have had centuries to build both their powers and their relationships while Orion is little more than a stranger.
As a light mage, Orion has the power to heal, but as he comes to know the other members of the coven, he learns that not all wounds are visible, and healing tortured souls and broken hearts isn’t as easy as fixing broken bones. Orion must bring them all together before they tear themselves apart.

Only when the coven is strong will they be able to welcome the dark mage who will complete the circle and give them the power to defeat a mage who has waited centuries to exact revenge on the former members of his coven.

An amazing story, with 6 magical men, who come together and form not only a coven but a love bond. There are officially 3 couples(water + light) (earth+ fire) (wind + dark) , but all are together with trust at the end. And there is a surprise of how Orion, the light mage, has a past connection to the water mage. And an interesting twist to the 6th member, the dark mage and how they come form and defeat a villain together.

Orion was a great addition to this coven. I don’t think that anyone else would have been able to break each mage out of his rut, and bring everyone together. I loved that he was able to stand up to Darius’ temper without being judgmental - he was able to censure while still showing all of the love that he was developing.

One thing that I am curious about, is Alfred simply homophobic, or does he not want to have any kind of sexual relationship? If it’s just the former, what would prevent him from forming a coven with a group of female mages that he could dominate? Or is he so fearful of being weak, in any circumstance, that he has devoted his whole being to basically becoming a coven of one?

DNF at 11%. A trigger warning would have been nice. Im sure it's a great story though. The setup for the story was promising

There’s a lot of good stuff in this book. The relationship building and the fact that they have to work on themselves, even with the instalove that occurs.
The reason this isn’t a 5 star rating for me is because it felt unpolished. I honestly felt like I was beta reading.
I was able to finish the book and I liked the ending.

This was entertaining. I’m surprised it has so few reviews. Sex strengthens the bonds within the coven, which strengthens the coven as a whole. In other words... there’s a lot of sex. There’s also healing (emotional and physical), soul mates, love, friendship and an evil mage to defeat.

I really enjoyed this story. Started it late in the night and had to finish it before I went to bed. Some minor mistakes but nothing that ruined the story for me. It was a light and easy read with some fun magic in it, which I always welcome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quatrième livre de cette auteur, première standalone, et j'adore toujours autant.
Reviewed in France on August 22, 2023
