The Zackie Stories are written so that a reader can enjoy and follow the story without having read the previous books in the series. That said, I've been told that the hints of backstory will draw readers to the previous books to get the full version of events.  However you choose to read these books, I wish you a fun and engrossing experience.  And, just so you know, the Psychopomp looks kindly on people who leave reviews.

    I started this series on a whim looking for something new to read. The story telling is well thought out and grips you right away and doesn’t let go. The characters are well developed and all historical information appears to be well researched. The world building is perfect- enough to understand and picture the environment without going into excessive detail. I also really didn’t find any major grammatical or spelling errors which matters to me and the author uses the correct tense throughout the story ( something that can really bother me when reading a book that switches back and forth or tells an active story in the past tense). I really like the characters and can’t wait to see what happens next. If you are a fan of paranormal this is a great series.

    I enjoyed much the 1st in the series. This second book seemed to continue in much the same pattern of challenges and planning and set backs and then success. I was starting to tire of the perceived retreading. And then new ground opened up. The hand though ? Died to this world so to be alive in dwelling in the next? A touch of the gothic? Symbol of sacrifice? Really, given all the grief it's owner has endured? I hope that in future books there might be transformation befitting the reality the hand inhabits. It would still need a glove, but to keep the brilliant glow of light from blinding others.
