Kasey Hill has lived in Franklin County, VA for most of her adult life. Spending two years in journalism in high school, and a few articles published in the Franklin News Post, she built much of her young adult life around reading and writing. She has various book series published, various poetry books, and many short stories circulating for anthologies as she pushes her passions forth into the writing community. With various pen names, she has honed her craft genre wise and has taken an interest to focusing on her nonfiction Wicca writings, Horror and all its subgenres, as well as anything Paranormal, strange, and unusual. Her debut Horror series for children The Whispering Spirits Series is under way as well as The Guardians of Light Series and Sarkoczy Series.     Kasey Hill is an extremely talented author and poetess. As you read each poem she reaches deep into the reader's soul allowing you to feel the depths of her pain, her love, her loss and her hope. The poems in this book take you from the lowest depths of depression to the highest high of love and hope that can be felt. I have been a poetry lover all my life and Kasey Hill does not let you down. Her poetry is extremely emotional and leaves you longing for more. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. It's a shame I can only give 5 stars for this incredible book. If you love poetry what are you waiting for?     I found this a very quick read and loved the poems. They seem full of raw emotion, some quite melancholic. I especially loved #pearls and #conquerthedark. It's a great read and the poetry is prolific. I will find myself going back to read again. The only thing that bothers me is the no periods after the sentences, but maybe with poetry, one can break free from that.

    One thing you’ll pick up on when you read Kasey Hill’s books is that her dedications are inspired and inspiring – a rallying cry for survivors, lovers, and warriors everywhere. Do yourself a favor and write these down to use as affirmations. Now, to the heart of her poetry: “Soul On Fire” gives you a glimpse at the most prevalent theme for this book. But, don’t forget how complex and multi-faceted fire itself is. It represents and symbolizes so many different things. It’s Hill’s recognition of this, as well as the masterful way that she weaves in other themes and ideas, that keeps her poetry from feeling one-dimensional or boring. On the contrary, her use of familiar themes is done in novel and extraordinary ways. It’s the diversity in her work that really makes a complex girl like myself feel seen and understood, even celebrated. As the first in her series, “Soul On Fire” left me hungry for more.
