Rebel's Run: A Military Sci-Fi Series (Space Troopers Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 803 ratings

With countless bounties on their heads, Jai and Peyton Foster will risk everything just to survive...

When corporations will stop at nothing to silence the young patriots, the orphaned siblings realize that being powerless is something they can’t afford. Separated by circumstance and with every civilized port closed to them, they’ll take full advantage of the skills taught to them by the very people who seek to hunt them down.

Jai has no choice but to tap into a rebel network when he finds himself stranded and alone in the outer belt. It’ll take every bit of guile and training to stay alive while he searches for truth so dangerous that it could cause the extinction of humanity.

Captured by pirates and thrown into a meat-grinder war between opposing factions, survival very well might cost Peyton more than her life. Unwilling to be a pawn in anyone’s war, she seeks to turn the tables on her captors… and she’ll risk everything to come out on top.

Rebel’s Run, Book 2 in the exciting Space Troopers Military Sci-Fi series, is an action-packed adventure where survival is the name of the game. The real question is if they can accept the price of their own success.

I must say that Jamie McFarlane has given us a unique battle to enjoy. I would think that in the confused borderlands of our planet in our time might have given him some inspiration. Here is the set up--
Two competing organizations strive to control some territory way way out at the very edge of their sphere of influence. The two organizations conscript ordinary people, arm them in a half-assed way, and send them into combat with the admonition that no one will be allowed back into 'friendly' lines. It is do or die. That might be bad enough but in the contested territory survivors of previous battles now live as lethal scavengers, dangerous to all parties but not very powerful on their own, just nasty, dangerous, and possibly cannibalistic. Now that is a problem for a hero to deal with.
We can count on McFarlane for fast-paced action, characters that we can bond with, and a story we can read with enjoyment. The more of his stuff I read, the more I like.

This is another really good book from Jamie McFarlane and Rachel Aukes. It is a great continuation of the first book in the series and I can't wait for the third book to be released. I rated this book as 5 stars. It isn't perfect, but it exactly what I look for in a story; interesting topic, characters, drama and an escape from reality for a little while. Iwas pulled right into the story here, so just what I want. I definitley recommend it.

Another fast-paced story which I wound up reading in less than 24 hours. The two protagonist concept is entertaining and with the way chapters end, sometimes annoying, because I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT - but it works - the same way this works for James Patterson. This is also clear space opera with the way things happens and the way new characters develop rapidly. Absolutely love where the story is going with the Caliber storyline and the implications of Batteaux's nefarious plans. Looking forward to the next in the series!

An interesting plot with diverse characters set in the Sol system. Jai is looking for a ride and connects with a spaceship crew that is willing to bend the rules for a payday. Peyton is illegally dragged into a work crew. The story takes off from there. A great read.

The story of beginning space warriors in a corporate-controlled solar system continues. Well-written and plausible. I look forward to the next volume.

A really good story which picks up very nicely where book 1 left off. With the 2 protagonists the story alternates between them seamlessly at a good pace and keeps the reader intrigued while continuing to build excitement and interest in the problems they encounter. I am really looking forward to a rousing finish to this trilogy. Based on the author's previous work, I would expect nothing less! 💥👌💥

    5.0 out of 5 stars Highly entertaining…

I’ve enjoyed both of the authors’ work individually, reading them in combination is a real pleasure. The story moves along nicely with various characters coming nicely to life, the various threads of the story starting to coalesce and a few new curve balls arriving… at speed.

Good fun and well worth reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Takes a long time to get going

If you read book 1 a while ago, or haven't read it at all, this books first 20% has you scratching your head wondering what the hell this is all about. Thankfully things start to click after that
Peyton and Jai are off on their adventures, both ending up doing different things for different reasons. Of the 2 Peyton's is the more fast paced/action related, whereas Jai is building up more of the back story about what is going on in the solar system, why and by whom
Assuming it's only a 3 book series, book 3 should bring all the disparate storylines together, should be quite a book
