About the author

Marvin Knight first got hooked on the harem genre when he picked up Spellscribed: Provenance, written by Kristopher Cruz back in 2013. Not long after, John Van Stry published Champion for Hire, and another favorite went up on his bookshelf. Marvin started writing a novel of his own back then.
After nearly thirty failed attempts and five years of work, Marvin finally manged to write the words, 'The End'.
Another completed book followed shortly after that, and at this point, he doesn't think he could stop if he wanted to. If you like LitRPG, Cultivation, Gamelit, Harem, Progression Fantasy, Comedy, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Action, and Adventure, then you and Marvin are kindred souls! Check out his books today!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2021I enjoyed the first book a lot, and immediately bought and read through the remaining books (a total of 4 as of this time). I like them all, and am doing a quick summary review of 2-4, which I'll duplicate for books 2-4. (I reviewed book 1 separately.)
Like the first couple of books there are still a few typos. (The only annoying/repeating error is the constant mis-use of the possessive ('s): some places have ('s) that shouldn't, and many places are missing the ('s), or use ('s) when it should be (s'). Not sure why this was such a common issue. But I refuse to take a star away for this, because I loved the story, and my nit-picking doesn't change that.
Super-quick summary of the series: MC and 2 friends get transported to new world. In book 1 we immediately find out that the MC was sidelined for 400 years or so, while the 2 friends went out and lived their lives. The MC finds himself in a world of (mostly) elves, but the world is in a solar-system(?) that contains many thousands of worlds nearby, on which live orcs, dwarves, beastkin (including cat-girls OBVIOUSLY), and other races. All worlds have magic of one sort or another, and all worlds we know about so far also have cultivation of one sort or another. The world of the MC has magic... which depends on spirit cultivation, so something of a hybrid.
We also find out that the MC's 2 friends lived their lives and become very powerful, changing the face of the world, yada yada... and one or both MIGHT still be alive. (Spoiler: by book 4 we're still not sure they're alive, but we're shown many of the things they've left behind, including offspring spanning generations, entire empires, and more.) The old friends also leave a few gifts to the MC, as well as hinting at some Very Bad Things that might have to be dealt with if/when the MC ever wakes up. (Which of course he did, as part of book 1.)
I find the world-building pretty interesting, and the story is a very fun read. The possibility that the MC could travel to other worlds in this solar system -- literally thousands to choose from, all inhabited -- allows for the story to go for a long time. (Maybe too long, but that's not an issue for a LOT more books, at least.)
By the end of book 4, our MC has finally reached a decent level of power, and he has a very (VERY) obvious path to a lot higher cultivation levels. Which he's going to need! Many of the worst of the known foes have been vanquished, but there are even more powerful forces he's going to need to deal with, either for his own clan, or as a favor to the princess.
The MC hasn't *quite* added the cat-girl to his harem yet, but it's looking pretty imminent. Ha.
The book series continues to be a lot of fun, and now I'm having to wait for the next book in the series to be released. Will definitely buy it when it comes out. <Is it here yet? How about now?...>
- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2021Overall this is a well-written book. There are a few things here and there slip through the editors. There might be one or two things that I would have written differently but then I'm not the author of the book. With that being the most horrible things about this book that just leaves all the good stuff. I have immensely enjoyed the series and I highly recommend it to anybody who's a fan of fantasy Adventure. At the time of writing this book 5 is already available and I'm going to jump right into the next one. I can't wait to see where this series goes in the future. Again well done Mr author man and keep up the good work.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2021I've really fallen in love with the world of Theo and the Heartwood. All the different styles and varieties of magic really make for an interesting read. I enjoy the cultivation and seeing what the next location is going to be like.
The story continues as Theo finds more allies and stumbles into new trouble outside of his forest. After finally visiting the capital he gets to see what the world is like outside of his backwoods home. I enjoy that each of the matriarchs has their own thing to do and we get insights into what each of them are doing. I also enjoy how Theo managed to solve the problems each matriarch encountered and even managed to convince a few problems to handle each other. I still want to know what's happening with Melise, though. I'm guessing that will happen in the next entry.
Sadly, I found quite a few typos. I reported them to Kindle, but they still threw off the flow enough that I had to dock a star.
Can't wait for the next entry!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2020I really do enjoy this book series. Memorable characters, seikai premise, great fights. My only disappointment is that it ends.
I was in the middle of a book when I found out this, the fourth book online the series, came out. I was floundering reading it; I finished this 400+ page book in 3 days; couldn't put it down. There are a few typos and, in my opinion, plot errors, but nothing too severe. It was a really good read and I can't wait for the next one!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2022Love the story. Of course I gotta be a critic to. A lot of times Ive noticed Theo does something in a battle (which is most of the time, lol) then he explains what he is doing, does his fight or a small piece of a fight then afterwords he does AGAIN what he said he already did. Its like you forgot in two paragraphs what you had him do. Id give an example but that was many pages ago & I just ignore those slipups so they dont mess with my head. Just had to point it out.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2020Great cultivation book with some small politics now that Theo and gang are at the capital, The small politics did not deter from the adventuring and cultivating which is a big plus, the book was very meaty and there was still plenty of action to go around. One thing the author needs is a glossary for the characters as theres so many i get confused whos who especially in Theo's harem. And lets be real MC prob gonnna get 5+ more women once he starts traveling worlds!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2020Many things happen in this arc completion. Characters get stronger, and new friends and enemies appear. Action abounds in many ways and fight scenes, where working smarter rather than harder is a key to success that our MC understands. I can’t wait to see where we go from here! Definitely recommended (16+).
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2021The story to this series is so interesting. I really enjoy reading about Theo's scheming and his fast rise to stronger powers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thinking of starting this series?
You should. It will not disappoint. It is a fantastic blend of cultivator/fantasy/settlement building/ harem. Well paced story with a well developed harem that is not so big that they feel like cardboard cut outs. Always looking forward to the next in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbinding Spell heart series
I have work to do. I have deadlines to meet. I need sleep. Unfortunately, there are more books in the Spell heart series that absolutely, totally, completely must be read. Thankfully, tomorrow... today??? is a Sunday, so I might be able to get another book read before the weekend ends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good continuation of the story
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the fourth installment.
This time round we are being introduced to the wider world and dwarves! Let's just say that the dwarf elf interaction is funny and special.
We got an inkling about Dean's and Sam's fate and other factions are introduced, making the world larger and injecting more variety and sparkle.
The bedroom antics serve to enhance the story - not detract from it.
I am looking forward to read the next installment, as I am smitten with the world Marvin has built here and I want to know more about it.
