Overview

Perry has the courtship from Hell—literally. Too bad that isn't her only problem.

When Perry's powers as an earth sorceress finally come just before her nineteenth birthday, she's thrilled. Then comes the bad news. Her powers are…well, a little extreme. It's bad enough when she leaves a trail of rampant greenery behind wherever she goes, but then it gets worse. She catches the attention of Hadis, the Lord of Death, who promptly kidnaps her.

Now the captive of a powerful sorcerer caught in the grip of an unbreakable love spell, Perry's only hope of escape is to discover what exiles Hadis to his bleak, terrible domain. But as she gets to know the gentle, sensitive soul behind the grim exterior, her feelings for him grow no matter how much she fights them. In her secret heart Perry begins to wonder if she wants the spell to be broken after all.

Springtime in Hades is a sweet romantic retelling of the Persephone and Hades myth set in modern Central California.

About the Author

I have a thing for dark lords, dark heroes and antiheroes. I tend to root for villains, because they're usually a lot more interesting than heroes. But they have to be complex, nuanced villains who have good reasons for their villainy. I love variations on the Beauty and the Beast story, awkward courtships and slow-burn romances.

If want to take a look at my other fiction (usually featuring dark wizards), you can find me at FlyingTigerPress.com. I have a Tumbr account I don't know how to use at kathyswizards and one on Facebook I do at Kathlena L. Contreras. Come say hi!
