    Cecilia Lane does not disappoint. I was worried that the second book in the Black Claw Ranch series would not measure up to the first. I was greatly mistaken. The second book Spurred Fate (Black Claw Ranch book 2) only expands the Black Claw ranch world and draws the reader in further. This second book is about Hunter Shaw and Joss Warren. Joss Warren is an old friend of Tansey and just coming out of a horrible divorce. Tansey hires Joss to cook on the ranch for guests as Tansey expands the ranch to include a bed and breakfast business. Joss agrees to distance her from her previous life and allow herself to heal. She is drawn to Hunter Shaw.

    Hunter is the fun-loving clown of the bear shifter clan. He is a romantic and is looking for his mate. Sadly, he’s been looking in all the wrong places. He is instantly drawn towards Joss and while Joss is a gentle soul, she doesn’t hesitate to jump in and defend Hunter. But, by doing so, Joss puts herself in the sights of ghosts from Hunter’s past and current spurred individuals.

    This story was just as great as Wrangled Fate (Black Claw Ranch book 1). I loved the characters and they were unique and had such personality. I loved that Hunter wanted to find his mate; he is such a romantic! Joss is a sweet person with a steel core. But, has never been fully supported for who she is! They were perfect together.

    Cecilia continues to focus on the main characters, but the supporting characters have such great development and are unique and engaging! I am excited for each new book in this series! Because I know the stories will draw me in and before I know it, I’ll be looking for my next Cecilia Lane shifter fix.
