When Massimo is given Pippa to wed and protect forever, he almost cannot believe his luck! But the life of a Made Man is full of complications and when Massimo and Pippa find themselves in the middle of a battle, it will take all that they have to fight there way through together. Told in multiple POV, Becoming the Street Boss is a high octane read with a lot going on. I found both Pippa and Massimo to be endearing characters and yet, both broken and flawed in their own way. Some of their decisions throughout the read were distracting to me but I managed to keep both hands on my Kindle throughout the entire read! This is not a sweet love story. This is dark and tainted and very twisted! Despite the turbulence Pippa and Massimo face, the passion between the two is undeniable. Although love does eventually develop between the two, the journey was long and not all of the stops and starts were easy. The most standout element in this read for me was the secondary characters. I was very intrigued by the family dynamics and the way in which they supported each other. Massimo was of course dark and delicious and fans of really strong alphas will definitely want a double dose of him! Overall, Becoming the Street Boss will appeal to Mafia Romance Fans who prefer more grit and less flower in their romance. These men are hardcore and their women are strong and not afraid to fulfill the role of a Made Man’s Wife. This is my first read by this author and based on my knowledge of the complexities of the secondary characters, I look forward to reading more!
