I spent college worrying about responsibilities and earning my teaching degree, so before graduation and moving to Atlanta with my best friend, Ross, I figure I deserve a little fun. I’ve never been with an older man, but the guy at the bar grabs my attention and doesn’t let go…for multiple rounds, all night long.

The next day, when Ross introduces me to his dad, the last thing I expect is for him to be my hookup from the night before, in town from Atlanta for his son’s graduation.

The best thing would be to pretend it never happened, which is easier said than done. The more I talk to Harrison, the more I like him. We enjoy teasing each other, spending time together, and despite how successful he is, we both know what it’s like to have nothing. Neither of us wants a relationship, so when Harrison suggests a no-strings-attached fling, it’s perfect.

But between bills, worrying about Mom, and wondering how I thought I had what it takes to be a good teacher, Harrison’s always there, even when it’s hard for me to accept help.

Falling for Harrison wasn’t part of the agreement.

I don’t know how to trust, there’s a seventeen-year age difference, and he’s my best friend’s dad.

No strings attached has never been so difficult, because I’m pretty sure I want to be tied to Harrison for good.

Riley Hart’s love of all things romance shines brightly in everything she writes. Her primary focus is Male/Male romance but under various pen names, her prose has touched practically every part of the spectrum of love and relationships. The common theme that ties them all together is stories told from the heart.

A hopeless romantic herself, Riley is a lover of character-driven plots, many with flawed and relatable characters. She strives to create stories that readers can not only fall in love with, but also see themselves in. Real characters and real love blended together equal the ultimate Riley Hart experience.

When Riley isn’t creating her next story, you can find her reading, traveling, or dreaming about reading or traveling, and spending time with her two perfectly snarky kids, and one swoon-inducing husband.

Riley Hart is represented by Jane Dystel at Dystel, Goderich & Bourret Literary Management. She’s a 2019 Lambda Literary Award Finalist for Of Sunlight and Stardust.

My. Oh. My...... Riley brought the heat! There is so much sexual tension and chemistry burning through the pages. From the very beginning I was hooked. I love a age gap story and Riley Hart nailed this. Very well written. Very relatable issues and the handling of Zander's ADHD. These characters are very well developed and I love the development of their relationship. I'm so glad that the things that seem would be a huge issue and cause drama are the things that surprisingly came across so flawlessly. Zander and Harrison had this instant connection. When they finally stop denying themselves it's super sweet and super steamy. I loved loved loved this book. Zander was so mature, responsible and determined. Though stubborn, lol. Harrison was absolutely drool worthy with his kindness, big heart and the love and relationship he has with his son, just shows that he is a great guy. A great read that I was reluctant to finish because I didn't want it to be over. But it surely left me with a huge smile from that wonderful ending.

Wow!! I absolutely loved Harrison and Zander’s story! I was drawn in from the first page, all the way through the last. Harrison and Zander had an amazing connection from their first meeting, and that really jumped off the page to me. Their chemistry was fantastic, and the sexual tension built up to a real page turner. Harrison was a wonderful person, a great friend and father. I loved Zander’s fierce independence and not wanting to rely on anyone to pave his way. He was hesitant to trust and built walls to keep himself from being hurt. Together they built an amazing friendship with some wonderful swoony times, feelings and super hot sexy times. I loved seeing Zander’s walls come down with Harrison, as well as seeing Harrison open his eyes to more. This was such a wonderful low-angst romance with equally amazing characters surrounding Harrison and Zander’s HEA. This was such a feel good read that I found myself smiling, laughing and left with the best warm and fuzzies. Riley Hart really took this one to the next level, and I couldn’t recommend this more!

I really enjoyed Harrison and Zander. The age gap was awesome, and I loved that Harrison was Zander's friend's dad. The chemistry between the was amazing from the start, when they had no idea who the other was. I loved the way Zander grew into the man he wanted to be. Despite his struggles with ADHD and the emotional baggage from the relationship with his father, he really did just want to be loved. There were a lot of laughs with Ross and his ability to deal with his dad and Zander together. I was glad that it wasn't a big deal in the story. This was a really great book.

I loved absolutely everything about this book! From the first page to the last. It was just lovely. It made me laugh, it made my heart happy, and it made me feel good! Riley Hart just excels at writing character driven stories where I get immersed in their lives and don't want to stop reading about them. Harrison was just such an amazing character--wonderful father, great friend, kind, caring, and just an all around great person. Zander was more complex, kept himself more bottled up, didn't want to trust or let anyone in, but was such a kind soul who just needed to allow someone to love him.
I enjoyed every second of their time together. There was fabulous dialogue, sharp-witted banter, smoking hot times, and so many swoony moments with all the feelings! There was also a fantastic cast of supporting characters that were all so wonderful, with Ross leading the pack for me. I just loved him!
If you want a low-angst, feel good, put a smile on your face and make you laugh out loud book, with a fabulous HEA, grab this! Highly recommended!!!

This was a nice story of a young Zander and his best friend's father, Harrison in which there was a 17yr age gap. Zander growing up in a dysfunctional family had trouble trusting, allowing someone to love him, and if they did, would that stay. However, after a one-night hookup, things change dramatically. The story was good, but it started to drag after a while. It was repetitive and boring. Nothing exciting or dramatic happened to hold my attention. But I would still recommend it.

It’s all in the fun they have. I love a couple who can rib each other and have fun and just love each other. I loved the banter between these two. That’s what keeps me into books the dialog. Seeing a couple truly relax and just be around each other. I loved that even though this was best friends dad story the best friend knew but didn’t know. I’m this case it was good, but I think it would be cool if it wasn’t. This is the first time I’ve read a book where the best friend knew so I guess I can hope that the author writes another story but goes the other way? I also loved the struggle. Not everyone comes from great role models when it comes to things and when you don’t see it, that could lead to not wanting it. I love how Z really worked through this, but I love even more how patient H was with him. That’s the best part of the story I think. The work and the patience. The writing was great the smexy was fun, and the side characters were nice.

there’s something missing in this story and I think it’s a bit of drama. The story really felt flat and a bit boring, not much happening. The overall story was nice, but it missed some spices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uma explosão de fofura! Eu amei demais! ❤️

“What, am I too old for you? Ugh, I am, aren’t I? Who wants to be friends with their best friend’s dad?”
“Well, I mean, I think we’re a little past thinking that way, considering I know what you look like when you have an orgasm.”

“Without thinking, I leaned closer, mouth next to his ear. “You have firsthand experience with my stamina. Some things just get better with age, and I’m one of them.””

Esse livro é uma explosão de fofura!
    Recomendo demais!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Forbidden" without the taboo?
Reviewed in Australia on April 20, 2025
I love the Best-friend's-Dad, Dad's-best-friend trope, but I do get tired of them all going the same way. Strings Attached really breaks the mould in that sense
    ***** SPOILERS *****
The best friend finds out EARLY and he's fine with it. He can see how fond they are of each other before our MCs even do. The younger MC is two years older than his bestie and the Dad was a young parent. For anyone who really needs the limits pushed, this isn't going to scratch those itches; what it does instead is offer a plausible scenario for this to work and with no compunctions about the ethics of what they're doing.

It's Forbidden Romance Light. And it's very well written. Riley Hart always manages to do a lot with not many pages without doing too much or being scattered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome love with strings

Could not put this book down. Harrison and Zander is the perfect couple. Who sleeps with a hook up, then finds out it's your best friends dad.
Despite the age difference, the banta from the first meeting you knew there was a connection. Even with Zander's trust and daddy issues, they both worked together to find a level playing field.
This was funny and heart breaking at the same time. Harrison was patient, kind and just wonderful the way he handled Zander.

Riley Hart did it again. Wonderful
