    Ruslan's desire was to be a torpedo in the family. Isabel was given to an abusive man at the age of 16 to be a 3rd wife.

    Ruslan runs a nightclub and he does not want a long term relationship with anyone. Ruslan and Isabel are in an affair then Isabel's husband finds out and goes crazy on Isabel. When Ruslan discovers what happened this story really gets crazy exciting.

    This is the 5th installment in this series and I love all of Hayley's stories. They keep you hooked.

    This was a different approach to how the two main characters get together, but I have to say I really liked the different approach. The main characters definitely had plenty of chemistry. Can't wait for the next one!

    Trust me, I am pretty surprised at my rating too. I think this might be the first book by Hayley that I have actually rated this high. I am usually in the 4 star range, but I thought this stands out above the rest in the series.

    If you've read any of my reviews for Hayley, this paragraph has been said a few times in a few different ways. Feel free to skip it, but if you've never read a book by this author, there's a few things you can expect. The men are alphas. They know they are alphas, and it doesn't matter how wrong they can be. They're constantly in control. The women either have to accept life as it is or leave, no matter how strong they are. There's no happy medium for them. I think the best part is counting how many times I can quietly whisper, "Did that really happen?" to myself but add some profane word choices in there. As depressing as that sounds, it's highly entertaining.

    This time it's Ruslan who is going to have his world rocked. He's established a new life in Northern California under Osip's leadership. Still a Torpedo by day, he's a successful Bratva business owner by night. Things are good. They are even better when his woman visits. It should be the perfect situation. She visits. There's not a whole lot of conversation, and then she leaves. The only problem is that she belongs to someone else.

    At this point, I don't want to write any more details that may spoil the plot. However, I do want to say that I love the dynamic relationship between Ruslan and Isabel. Here's an example of what you can expect from them: It's pretty typical for the heroine to swoon or melt for the hero. I am pretty sure I could name at least three books where this occurs easily. When Isabel first meets Ruslan, she only gives him her name. She's not free, and if anyone knew of her visits, Isabel would pay the ultimate price. It's in those stolen moments that make this a five star read. He melts for her.

    If you have read this series up until now then you know what is going on. I would highly suggest you do read in order but it’s not required. Now, we met Rostam previously. He was a partial mystery and it left me wondering if he could be trusted.

    When Isabel is presented with the option to leave the nightmare she has been living for years and that Rostam was looking to get her out and back with her family, the Russians, I was rooting for him to be one of the good guys. Let’s just say I’m seriously questioning if he is a bigger devil than his father.

    Ruslan and Isabel find themselves to be in what feels like an impossible position. They want to be together, for real with nothing holding them back. We all know it will be that easy and danger is always lurking in the places you least expect.

    Once I finished reading this book I was amped up and ready for the next one!

    This story is part of a series, reading the other stories in the series will give you a better big picture of what is going on, but I think you can still read this book without reading the others in the series. The story contains content that may be triggering for some or even offensive to some. There is some violence against women several times, so be warned. Ruslan is part of the Russian bratva, he runs a brothel for them. Ruslan has been seeing Isabel for a while, although he only knows her name and nothing else about her. Isabel is actually in a polygamous relationship, but she doesn't want to be. Her parents "married" Isabel off and she was considered a child bride.  The story contains action and violence. There's a little bit of suspense, it's a will they be able to live happily ever after kind of suspense. There is a little intrigue, just a little bit dealing with her past. I liked to read about Ruslan being softhearted toward Isabel, but pretty much no one else. Isabel just wants to be happy and love Ruslan. The two of them have some pretty steamy scenes together, but that's not all there is to the story, there's more content that allowed me to be drawn into the story. I could imagine that I was there with them, which is something I love a story to have.

    I have been waiting for this book and finished it in a day as soon as I got my copy. I love Ruslan after previously reading about him in other books and I wanted him to find someone to love and protect. Ruslan didn't think he was ready to settle down, but he is too jealous and possessive to let Isabel go. Isabel has had a hard life but instead of bringing her down she puts on a brave face and stays strong. I have always loved Hayley's books and the way she writes. She grabs my interest from the beginning, and I don't want the book to end. I love that there isn't a cliffhanger but that the series is interconnected and still get to read about other characters from previous books. This book had a perfect ending and gets wrapped up in the epilogue thankful for that. Even in the epilogue of this book had me holding my breath for a moment. This book has it all for me spice, possessive alpha, strong heroine and very descriptive. I love a good mafia book and it's a book I will have the paperback copy of along with e-copy.
