J. Daniels is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Alabama Summer, Dirty Deeds and Sweet Addiction series, as well as her MM romance: The Tragedy of Felix and Jake.

Best known for her sexy, small-town romances, her debut novel, Sweet Addiction, was first published in 2014 and went on to become an international bestseller. Since then, she has published more than fifteen novels, including the Dirty Deeds series with Forever Romance.

Daniels grew up in Baltimore and currently lives in Maryland with her husband and three kids. A former full-time Radiologic Technologist, she began writing romance after college and quickly discovered a passion for it. You'll still catch her in scrubs every now and then, but most of her time is spent writing these days—a career she is eternally grateful for.

Always an avid reader, Daniels enjoys books of all kinds, but favors Romance (of course) and Fantasy. She loves hiking, traveling, going to the mountains for the weekend, and spending time with her family.

    Um. Why in the world did I take so long to read this? It has been on my kindle for some time. I devoured this book. It was sweet, sexy, funny, and oh so romantic. Just when I thought I couldn’t love J. Daniels anymore. I was wrong. She has easily become one of my all time favorites!

    Cake and sweet treats, extraordinaire and business owner, Dylan Sparks attends a wedding of her ex boyfriend and is determined to have a wedding hook up with one of the attendees. Sounds messy right? Well it’s not. That’s because Dylan doesn’t want any rules or expectations. Meet hot guy. Get laid. Leave feeling satisfied. She literally falls in the lap of the most beautiful man she has ever seen, successful accountant, Reese Carroll. You feel the energy between them the moment they meet. They also have something in common. Or should I say want something in common? A casual hook up. What they didn’t expect was the connection they shared during that moment. It shocks them both. But Reese is a love and leave 'em kind of guy. And that is what Dylan wants. Or so they think.

    Reese cannot stop thinking about Dylan. So he sends the most unique yet romantic package to let Dylan knows he’s interested. While Dylan insists they are nothing but casual, she cannot deny there is something more to be explored. They try the casual thing and decide to become “monogamously casual”. Yes. Those are their words! Eventually, being casual is not enough. They find themselves wanting more and falling deeper and that is when things really shift.

    Can we please talk about the chemistry between Dylan and Reese? I had to fan myself a few times. But it goes beyond the sexy times. These two are made for each other. Dylan is flirty, fierce, and so much fun! Reese is devastatingly handsome, romantic, and I loved him from the moment I started. Their banter made this story stand out and put it in a category of it’s own. These two are passionate and their love for each other knows no boundaries. They love with such a strong and deep desire. Their journey to love isn't easy. Both are forced to take down their walls or risk losing each other.

    This was so much more than your average story where a casual hook up turns into love. The author has true talent in crafting her characters in such a way that you live the story as you read. You become embedded within the pages. The characters become your friends and you want nothing more than to get lost within their story. Sweet Addiction was no different. The other characters, Juls, Joey, Ian, and Billy were also such a treat and a wonderful addition to this story.

    Sweet Addiction was everything I needed in a romance. I laughed out loud (several times!). I swooned. I LOVED. I was absolutely invested in this story from the very first page until I swiped my kindle and hit the end. I watched two people fall irrevocably and effortlessly in love. I fell in love as they did. Dylan and Reese were never to fall in love. Those were the rules. But that’s the thing about the heart. It only follows the path to where it belongs. The heart doesn’t see rules. It breaks them. This was such a fantastic read and I am so looking forward to more Dylan and Reese!

    Reese... Really, what's not to love about this guy? He was a dream come true. Sexy, smart, romantic, creative and so very cute. He may have agreed to the casual monogamy but his love for Dylan was written all over his face, not to mention his heart. Loved seeing bits of his possessive side pop out... the way he would watch Dylan... his willingness to let her set her own pace... *sigh* He was a total sweetheart.

    Dylan... I loved her from the very first page. Her humor, her sass, her passion for her business, her relationships with her BFFs... she was such a likable character. Sure, I wish she would've shared her true feelings with Reese much earlier on but I could see why she was nervous to do so. Pretty much impossible not to feel intimidated by his reputation.

    Their friends... Dang, I liked Joey and Juls a bunch! They made the reader want to be a part of the story. They were hilarious, so supportive and so loving. A girl couldn't ask for better BFFs!

    The miscommunication/lack of it at times drove me a little batty but I was able to handle it because I could just FEEL that total, complete HEA coming at the end for Reese and Dylan!

    And I did feel like a few of the conflicts needed a little more OOMPF! though...

    *Reese's psycho ex- Although probably more painful for Dylan, amping up the psycho-factor with Reese's ex could've been very interesting. I think she needed to do more to earn that psycho-ex title.
    *Justin- His creepiness quota could've been turned up a little more too. I realize he had a teenie-weenie but making him a little more dangerous would've been exciting... Ending of course with Reese pounding his face into the pavement and a visit to the police station or something.
    *Bryce- Something more should've been done with his character... thought he might pop up somewhere else but his character was just sort of let go...

    This was such a fun, addicting read! Cannot wait to read book two in the series, Sweet Possession!! Bring on more Reese and Dylan!

Dylan fand ich toll mit ihrem eigenen Bakery-Shop, welchen sie zusammen mit ihrem schwulen Freund Joe betreibt, ihre Freundin und deren Partner, Reese, den sie auf einer Hochzeit kennenlernt.... ich mochte alle Figuren in diesem Buch. Auch die Sex-Szenen wurden sehr ausführlich beschrieben was mich das ein oder andere Mal schon auch selbst "heiß" werden lies.... *schmunzel* Ein süßes Buch... I love it und jede Seite war ein Lesegenuss.

    Funny, romantic, sexy, heartbreaking and beautiful!!
    I laughed a lot through this book, Dylan is the best female lead I think I have ever read! She is feisty, witty, sexy and sassy, and uses all of that in just the right way to make you want to be in her group of friends. Speaking of friends, I LOVED Joey and Juls so much! They were a perfect fit for the role of best friends, again, some of the best secondary characters I have read.
    And then there's Reese.....*swoons* :)
    That man is perfect!! I LOVE him soooo much, I want one! God Damn you Stuart!! (my hubby) those of you that have the pleasure of reading sweet addiction will get that! :D

    So to sum up....I seriously loved it! The writing style is perfect, although I would have really really loved a look into Reese' head.
    It flows perfectly, it's witty, romantic, sexy as hell and I was glued from the get go, not letting silly things like sleeping, or eating get in the way of my fix!

    Highly recommend, I shall definitely be on the look out for other books by this author.
