A Grenadian transplant, Avril now lives in Tucker, GA, with a madly tolerant husband. Together they raise an eccentric daughter who’s pretty meh about reading and school. Avril’s earliest memories of reading revolve around discussing the plot points of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys with an equally book-minded mother.


Always in love with the written word, Avril finally decided to do the writing in August of ’09 and never looked back. She’s been nominated for numerous awards, including Best Author, Best series (Brooklyn Sinners), and Favorite All-Time Author. In 2013 Avril won Evernight Publishing’s Reader’s Choice Award for the LGBT (Male/Male) category. Recently she took home the Golden Ankh award for best Male/Male romance for her bestselling novel, Sinner’s Fall.

    I've finished reading a lot of your books, back to back, the only way I like reading series. I'm not a patient person. To be totally honest here, these deep, dark stories are not my cup of tea. Too much pain for my old heart. That being said, I couldn't put them down. I was hooked!!!!! Really hard story lines, very well written. Awesome characters, twists I did not see coming, and every emotion known to man beautifully covered. There is one book I'd like to read, but Amazon doesn't have it, probably because of its content. You opened my eyes to the possibility I might be able to read heavy stuff once in a while.

    I highly suggest reading 'Kiss Your Scars' before venturing into the Syren & Renzo novella. I also even suggest reading Dirty Desire before this as well. I feel like it flows much better.
    Syren & Renzo went through something traumatic as children. Syren betrayed Renzo at the end of it, even after Renzo sacrificed a lot for Syren. Now, all of these years later Renzo is still harboring anger and hurt about what he went through and the choices Syren made. Meanwhile Syren has made a life for himself that allows him to put the past behind him. The only thing missing in his life to make his happiness complete? Renzo.
    This novella is a story of two men learning to let go of the things that haunt them, to learn forgiveness, and to build a new life for themselves while remaining the family they swore they would always be.
    Just like any of Avril Ashton's books - this was a great read. Her characters are something else.

    After a massive AA binge, Syren & Renzo was a huge surprise and tug on the heart-strings. What made this story so good is true love on a friendship level. It reminded me of how much I love my besties and can't imagine life without her. To watch Syren and Renzo reconnect was 100% sigh-worthy and after all the violence and darkness from the other books in the series, this one balanced the scales in the best way. Their bond is strong and to see Syren surrounded by his family is priceless.

    Ms Ashton, I salute you, this story was amazing, intense, strong and powerful, a continuation of both of these men’s journey. It dealt with trauma, the aftermath, the recovery and the power of family and heathy diverse relationships. This story was unlike the others but no less depth. I have read all of Ms Ashton’s books, all of them recommended. I fell in love with Syren all over again and saw Renzo in a different way. Please keep the books coming.
