A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER is a standalone read from the series THE AVALON CAFE. It is a cozy mystery so there are no sex scenes or colorful language, usually a murder but not the kind to cause nightmares, and always a fun read. Any age can read and enjoy. Gwen's powers are getting stronger. She has had a vision of a woman being tossed off a cliff to her death. She does not recognize the woman or the man but she knows the woman is not her. Arthur is becoming concerned with her going into these trances and he can't seem to wake her. She tells him what happened.

The next day her aunt tells her that one of her art students did not show up for class. it is strange because the woman is always in class and has some of the most bizarre drawings. Gwen calls her friend on the police force to see if she has any reports of a missing woman. No, but she tells Gwen to keep investigating and she will go to see the husband. She reports back that he says his wife is having an affair and she disappears like this often. He is not concerned. She gives Gwen permission to keep checking things out but she can't do anything until the husband reports her missing.

Gwen and Arthur drop by his house and ask to speak to him regarding his wife. The house is a pig sty and he is sitting in his chair watching TV. He allows them in the house and explains his wife's behavior. He seems angry but not concerned. He offers them coffee and they accept however the cups are filthy and she and Arthur are reluctant to even try to drink it. He offers her sugar but she refuses. He proceeds to heap spoonfuls in his cup.

Gwen finds out that the missing woman was a witch in the sisterhood that is local. She had powers but apparently not enough to save herself. They find drawings in her studio and realize that she was plotting horoscopes that directly affected Arthur. It seems she was plotting his return to this period of time. Who would want this information? and why?

Things start to move along a lot quicker when Gwen finds out that the husband has died. She had seen him just a few hours earlier and he is now dead. He was acting strange but she never suspected he would die. It seems he was poisoned. And then another person shows up in the hospital with the same symptoms. She is also a witch from this same sisterhood and she knew the man because she too had an affair with him before he moved on to the dead woman.

Things start to happen rather fast as they gather more information. This is a great read. It is fun, a mystery, and a bit of a flirting love story. Of course there is always Merlin. Gwen's dog just took up at the cafe one day and he has been there ever since. After Arthur got out of the suit of armor he told Gwen that Merlin was his best friend in another lifetime. Merlin almost steals the show.

Arthur is starting to talk more about his life with Guinevere and Gwen is starting to have memory of their time together. The romance is picking up. There are dark forces at work in this episode and it could be all the murders are connected to a political party and it could be that the man in question is not only in the government but also a male witch. But why would he be going after Arthur? And, is Gwen powerful enough to stop it?

This is a fun read and I definitely recommend it. If you have not read any of the previous books, you will not feel lost but you will have missed some good reading. I recommend the whole series.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/11/2020

Ooh, this 3rd installment kicked up the series a notch! Who is after Arthur? What do they want? Welcome to more mysticism! I felt like this story was darker, but not demonic... thank goodness. I don’t prefer really scary stories. I also felt like this story was more romantic. More flash backs. I love finding about this world’s take on the Arthurian legends. Also, the author makes the history believable! I hope this series will become popular enough to be made into a movie, maybe a TV movie. It’ll just be fun! Anyway, if you like mystery, romance, legends, history, and likeable characters, read this series! I finished the first four so far in this series in less than a week. It was so enjoyable!

This is the third book in the series that I've read. The first was excellent, second was very good and this one was pretty good. It got bogged down in the middle but picked up towards the end. Again, like the others it was very descriptive and that's a plus. I'll be getting the next one and looking forward to it

For sheer enjoyable escapist literature this is the best of its kind. A delightful interweaving of the Arthurian legend with a cozy witch mystery, the historical interpretation is completely believable. I am quite familiar with English history - it is one of my favorite topics of study - and not once did I want to scream "No, that's not right!" Which, let me say, is quite rare. The characters are likable, and the writing is competent. The story moves along at a good pace.

In the category of escapist literature it is definitely 5 stars.

Gwen had a vision. This had only happened one time. In it a student that Gwen's Aunt was. worried about. Now that the stones were in place her lover had no use for her so he pushed her off the cliff. As she was talking she said that she was sorry for any trouble she may have caused Arthur. They have to find the stones to break the spell.
Another story that I would have said I had no interest in. But here I am finishing my third book and. can hardly wait for book number four.
I received an advanced copy for a fair and honest review. I also purchased a copy. Thank you Serenity for a few hours of escape from this crazy world.

I got an ARC, but again, this series is so good I bought a copy too.
Gwen and Arthur are adorable! I enjoy that he's understanding and patient with Gwen and her need to acclimate to the idea that she's reincarnated and they're meant to be together even all these centuries later. I also enjoy that she and her friends are open-minded and not hateful because she and Arthur are "different". Of course, there's always the one character that causes problems, but even he comes around for the greater good for a minute or two.
    Read it!

I love this whole series. The story of King Arthur, the history, Guinevere, castles are all things that I have loved since I was a child. These stories are straight from my dreams! Plus there is enough mystery to make you keep reading. I can't say enough good things about this book and the rest of the series!

Another fabulous installment of Gwen and Arthur’s romance and murder mysteries.

Gwen’s magical powers and visions are growing and she sees another murder. How can they help solve the murder? How is linked to her and Arthur? What will happen if she can’t help keep Arthur safe? And just who is Julian Bauer?

They have visit Arthurian sites around England to break dark magic that threatens to take Arthur. How does this link to the murder of another witch from the Morgana’s Sisters coven?

I am already looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Love these stories. The idea that love can span centuries and recognise each other, is beautiful. The bringing together the clues to solve the mystery is very engaging.
