I loved reading all these books originally as ARCs and was thrilled to buy them together as a boxed set! And even though I don’t read a lot of mysteries, the Arthurian legend angle and Hermione’s excellent storytelling had me gobbling these mysteries up. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this 6 in 1 collection. It was quite different from other books about witches and the craft. Where else could you meet Arthur of Camelot and other individuals of English history who appeared as "ghosts" who help to guide the tale to it's conclusion. The characters were well developed and the tale was an easy read. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a witch cozy mystery that is different from the rest!

I really liked this series. This author took an improbable story and made it an exciting tale that makes you feel like maybe it could really happen. I got caught up in the writing. Have fun reading.....

I was an advanced reader for all of these books now compiled into a set, which is lovely because you get them all at once. I had to wait between releases.

I found the first book rather slow and the characters not very clearly developed in my mind. I had a hard time visualizing them and that is the reason for the four stars.

The characters really came alive in the next books and so did the landscape which was sprinkled with string friendships, a bit of sweet romance, and a bit of paranormal. I truly enjoyed the descriptions of the historical sites and the historical
background the author provided. I felt like I could go there and have a ready-made tour based on the books.

Overall the books were exactly what I have grown to expect from cozy mysteries and they were the perfect escape during this pandemic. Seeing as we are now in a second wave, I would encourage you to get this set of books, along with her separate Xmas story, grab a cuppa and enjoy the escape.

I loved the story line, with the history added in made it more unique. I just wish it ended after she had the babies.

The Avalon Cafe 6-in-1 Collection (Avalon Café) by Hermione Moon is a marvelous paranormal cozy mystery with a sweet romantic side added to it. I read each of these stories as they were first published. Finding all six together in this collection s wonderful in that you don’t have to wait to see what happens between Gwen and her handsome knight. You can just keep reading. Hurray!

Book 1: One Dark and Stormy Knight is a wonderful introduction to the series. It has an original twist to it that I immediately thought of a book I read many years ago. That book is a love story, while One Dark and Stormy Knight is a mystery. However, the hint of romance is strong. The kind of romance that has spanned the centuries with two souls so completely lovingly entwined.
The writing is so easy to read, it felt as if Gwen and I were sitting down to tea with her sharing it all with me personally. So yes, I do believe that Arthur will try to win her over again, just as he said he would.

Book 2: A Knight on the Town has Gwen and Arthur with a relationship past, present and now future that is slowly building. Arthur is positively the perfect book boyfriend, but be warned, he only has eyes for Gwen. This just serves to make him even more perfect. There is a side romance between Gwen’s best friend and a character from the previous book. These couples are so cute together, though they wouldn’t appreciate that being said, but they totally are.
This story involves Matthew Hopkins, Gwen’s nemesis along with his family. While the suspect list narrows down to a handful pretty quick, it is difficult to decide which one is the murderer. I was certain about the same time as Gwen.

Book 3: A Knight to Remember continues with the lovely characters, romance and mystery. The romance is sweet with a slow burn though there is a time travel element to it. Arthur and Gwen are perfect together no matter the year in which Arthur was able to find Gwen again. There is a missing woman who has insights concerning Arthur that makes her disappearance feel personal to Gwen. It kept me reading trying to solve it along with the characters.

Book 4: Her Wedding Knight could be titled “The Weddings that Almost Weren’t.” That is because there is one who is out stop any Happily-Ever-After. This mystery is much like the first book in that it becomes very personal to Gwen and Arthur. I love these characters including the supporting one so I really want the wedding to go off with a hitch. Still I knew a mystery was coming. Quite a surprise when it is all said and done. Lovely Gwen and honorable Arthur work through it all splendidly in spite of the obstacles thrown in their path.

Book 4.5: Things That Go Bump and the Knight (Previously published in the Holly & Hexes Anthology) first came out after the last book. Now it is in the correct order. The main character Gwen is telling a story about the past. Everything fits in place.

Book 5: ’Twas the Knight Before Christmas is a wonderful conclusion-for-now to the Avalon Café Series by Hermione Moon. The series began as a paranormal cozy mystery but this book in particular descends into the world of fantasy, there good battles evil. Past, present, and future collide in this story of winter solstice and Yule time. There is history, druid mythology and a twist or two in the telling of the King Arthur legend. How it all fits together is amazing. Gwen, Arthur, and Merlin along with Holly, Imogen and Christian must stop a diabolical plan that will go into effect during the winter solstice.

As for me, now I am hoping that Holly and Matthew will have a story or two in the future. So perhaps there will be a spin-off series. However, for now this is a series with a hero and heroine worthy of admiration.
